Looks like yet another cal arts inspired over reacting and yelling is funny western animation that will coast as a zombie IP thanks to furry porn artists
Frick I remember reading this webcomic like ten years ago.
...fifteen years ago?
Is it still going? Did they make an animation out of it?
I'm afraid to look because I remember it being kind of interesting, but I could see the whole thing going breasts up in the weird furry way in a goddamn hurry.
This animation was a Kickstarter or something like that? Idk but it looks good.
The pilot is on youtube, its alright, sorta furry bait but barring that its at least entertaining
That's pretty cool that they kept at it after all these years, I'll have to check it out.
I was reading a lot of webcomics at the time because I had a boring deadend retail job that required me to stand in front of a terminal with Internet access for ~6-10 hours straight, with little oversight. After four years I had just about seen everything the internet had to offer.
Lackadaisy stuck out in my memory as pretty decent amongst a sea of garbage with bad art and fricking awful storylines (for instance Looking For Group).
Unless the bad cat lady was reloading every single time she fired, she has infinite ammo.

I'm glad I'm not the only one that was having a rough time seeing past the dialogue. Violin cat's lines from the excavator could have been done well if the VA didn't drop the ball hard with the delivery.
Animation in this show is alright. The story and dialogue is shit though.
Couldn't get past how cringey the dialogue was, particularly, but not exclusively, the "waaaacky" homosexual poet cat. I know sewer dwellers that never recovered from the cancellation of Invader Zim will eat this shit up though, so I guess they were playing to their audience.
It's like they've only got five stock characters for all of these Zimgay shows and they just adjust the intensity dials on them slightly for every project.

Honestly the gun details were surprisingly good. The cyclic rate for the bar was spot on, and you could clearly hear the shots echo in the distance like they should.
It's ok.
Setting aside everything other than gun stuff, you don't often get guns actually get used (much) in modern western animation so that's a plus by itself.
All guns seem pretty well researched (as the webcomic was, I think I recall them explaining the shortened BAR thing back when the comic was still a thing) and nothing major stood out to me.
I like that while the animation has been pretty gun heavy due to the amount of action they put in it, the webcomic does make quality guns relatively hard to come by and have proper impact, as the single Tommy the protagonists own lets them outgun majority of low level threats armed only with pistols and maybe shotguns.
I thought showcasing the (at the time cutting edge, but in retrospect big dumb) BAR specific walking fire technique was really nice.
In reality those cars would've been shrek'd by one single shot to the engine block but that doesn't make for good storytelling so we give it a pass. Same with just assuming reloads happen offscreen.
From having only seen this picture and the thumbnail in my recommended, I can already guarantee there's already more individual furry porn pictures of this stuff than there are individual frames in the pilot episode.
And I'm not talking MS Paint stuff, I mean commissioned, high-budget shit drawn by vastly overqualified artists for 5 digit amounts.
Not really, but I know without even bothering to look that the furries are probably going apeshit right now for porn about these cats. That always happens with stuff on youtube with anthropomorphic animals in them.
great bait mate
the tommy gun looks weird
How so?

They published their pilot episode a couple weeks ago.

Serafine gots the stendo on her BAR apparently.
I’d think a .45 Tommy magdump into the side of a car would at least graze a passenger or two.
Mordecai counting out the rounds on Freckles vest peashooter was a nice character touch. I guess his own 1911 is pretty cutting edge at that point.
I liked it overall, the original comic was well researched and the cartoon held true to the designs.

do you think the characters are cute?
Not op, but I'm amazed I haven't seen Serafine in a w/k/r thread yet.
