How was my Disc Lock cut, I spent 10 minutes or so trying to find the right angle for my Tenet because I didn't want to damage their unit door and last time I had to do this at my work I nicked the door slightly but this time it came off mostly clean with the Milwaukee Hand Grinder we have. What can I be doing better?
Those locks are a pain in the ass anyways
this
i had to help a friend cut one of these. it took almost 40 minutes and two discs because of the way the storage unit door was designed and he had to hold it. never buy this fricking things
Did you try melting the core out?
That's what it takes to get them to open up, they're a pain like =
said.
I hate to be that guy, but unless you spent a hundred bucks on that lock, they are crazy easy to open with a basic lockpick set. With a little practice you could probably get it open faster than you could cut it off. If you do it often, you'll save money on cutting discs and you won't damage anything.
Honestly that actually sounds like a good idea for this job to get that skill down. It's rad feeling hot metal sparks hit my face but that would save time.
>open with a basic lockpick set.
theres an even easier way than picking, if you look in the pack when you buy them theres usually a couple of metal pieces in there with the lock itself, if you look on the lock body there is a hole that the metal piece (you only need one they often give you two or three) will fit into perfectly, push it in and turn lock should open up first time.
I've always used a Dremel with pic related. goes fast since the disk is so much thinner than a 4" cutoff wheel.
there are no locks made that can stop someone, just slow them down.
this
if someone wanted to they could drill your door with a hole saw and unlock it manually
Got to cut 2 more today, didn't use the Vice Grips but I was able to push the locks in with the blade to hold them still and cut them both off in about a minute each with hardly any scratches on the hinge. Definitely want to try with a Dremel instead though next time I have to because the second lock was resisting quite a lot, either way like where this is going.
why the FRICK are you cutting locks instead of picking them? this is a piece of shit master lock. you could have raked the fricker open in half the time it took you to nig it open with a grinder. go buy a cheap lockpick set on Amazon and never have to destroy a lock again
hesaid he didn't want to damage the door. you just posted a video in which the lock picking robot destroys the hasp
I like the idea but that would twist off our hasps, but if I had a second wrench the right shape to hold on the thinner part of the disc lock and push down the opposite direction I wonder if that would work without moving the hasp?
Larger applications of torque invite larger misapplications of torque. You're more likely to slip and cause collateral damage.
lock picking autists always make me laugh
>work harder not smarter
I pick those with a set of lockpicks in under sixty seconds for fun.
looks blown off like with a nail gun that uses blanks you can buy them at home depot see if it smells like gun powder
No he's asking you to rate his cut, he did it himself.
