If it just spins in the hole the screw has wallowed the wood out. I find sometimes you can get them out with a drill+bit at high speed wiggling it around to grab fresh wood, but that could damage things.
Just remember lefty loosey righty tighty.
Should I just try hitting it harder? I only have a regular screwdriver
Ok so how do I remove them
Turn counterclockwise about a quarter turn. At that point the screwhead should no longer be engaged in the cam. You might have to shake it a bit to overcome any static fit.
Okay I will screw them back on and try that.. I have to turn the table right side up though for them to fall out
Thank you
you don't need to remove them, they can stay in.
But how do I disassemble it.. I tried pulling them or something and it didn’t work
If someone is near Toronto plz come help me
Once you turn it counterclockwise a quarter turn or so, it will "let go" of the pin holding the two pieces together. The pin is attached to the other piece of wood, and this cam is holding onto the pin inside.
It's more like a latch than a screw.
You have to un-latch all of them that are holding onto the other piece of wood.
Sometimes it's a little more or a little less than a quarter turn. You kind of have to feel for it to let go, but you may have to turn it back clockwise slightly or counterclockwise slightly for the "open" part of the latch to line up with the pin.
Okay so I guess I must’ve unscrewed it too far? Because I just unscrewed it until it was harder to move but it won’t come out
The other piece of wood..
That’s what I was trying to do
>I must’ve unscrewed it too far?
Yes. You need to stop thinking of it like a screw and more like a door lock: put in the key, give it a turn, and then it's open. The pin will be unlocked and slide out.
I will try that one sec sorry there is a trainwreck rn
Ok but I assembled it and I didn’t
Some people (like me) really need help ok?
I hope someone shoots you.
Those aren’t screws. They’re a cam mechanism that latches into a post screw from the other piece.
Correct
>disassembling Ikea furniture
It will never be the same
Shit, there's even an arrow on it. Point the triangle toward the other piece of wood. Then they'll pull apart.

Some people add glue while assembling IKEA furniture so you might not just be up against the pin and cam.

What does this ding thing mean?
it's from a meme where a wife and husband compromise on him complaining about black people or something like that. instead of complaining, he just dings the bell. as a result, he dings it incessantly
Yes, the husband kept pointing out how tv commercials feature interracial couples at a frequency far beyond what actually occurs in society but his wife just wanted to watch tv and ignore what the media was pushing so the bell was a compromise where he would ring it instead of verbally pointing out yet another interracial couple.
Plus it's IKEA furniture. How much could it cost to just toss out the one he has and replace it with a new one?
Reply #2 was a perfect 100% answer and OP should throw the screwdriver in the trash and call his mom’s boyfriend if he can’t figure it out after this pic
This should be in the stupid questions thread you newbie who doesn't lurk.
