I can't do jack shit on my property without being raped by literally 100's of mosquitos. They bite right through my mosquito net and fly up into my long sleeves. Any natural alternatives that actually work?

Put traps around your property. You can make them from old tires (free)
Then when it gets cold you can burn the tires for warmth. It's a win-win.
If low wind, try green vegetation matter.
If high wind try banshee screams into the night.
Seems to work for me
DEET doesn't cause cancer. It's literally one the most studied substances applied to human skin. There's a good reason to worry about chemicals causing harm but DEET is not the hill to die on here. Even if you think the people who do the studies have become corrupt, DEET has been studied extensively around the world since the 1950's. The only way it's harmful is if you spray it into your mouth.
>DEET doesn't cause cancer.
Proofs?
They don't like peppermint
Have you ever tried a Thermacell?
There is no other way to get rid of them. There's a reason native americans and tribal africans just sat around a bonfire fire all day. The fire keeps them away but the second you step away you're swarmed. They'd just stay away from water sources and hide near a fire during the evening when mosquitos are most active.
no they did not lmao
mosquitoes weren't as big of a problem as they are today
>mosquitoes weren't as big of a problem as they are today
Why do you think that is?
My understanding is that in the US the mosquitoes that we have now are all invasive types from Asia that are way more aggressive and bite while in direct sunlight, all day long. The native types were more docile and only came out at dusk and dawn.
Hmm, never heard of that.
spraying tea tree, lavendar oil, apple cider vinegar and peppermint oil works i dilute some peppermint oil in a spray bottle, also eat tons of garlic not only does garlic boost test it also produces a body odor that mosquitos detest, buy garlic powder in bulk from a gordons food service if you dont feel like sauteeing chopped garlic in ur chile or spaghetti or whatever, eating garlic unironically helps
peppermint oil is the best solution to skeeters than bug spray, it seems to make them frick off more. you can also use both, nothing stopping you from doing it.
i shower with that dr bronner peppermint soap in the morning when i'm doing outdoors shit and it'll make em frick off for around a day.
longer trips i'll bring a little vial of it. you can drink it or rub it on your skin.
lots of skeeters in both states i hike in, never have a problem with them since i discovered how good peppermint works. just don't tell everyone local about it, the reason it works so well is other people don't use it. in areas where skeeters are used to deet/bug spray they won't be accustomed to peppermint.
oh yeah eating garlic helps too like anon said
Skin so soft and marathon work for me. Eliminating their breeding ground is the best way to get rid of them. I have a propane fogger, but it doesn't really kill them. The fogger cans work pretty good. My rich dick buddy has a giant propane trap system on his property that works like magic. And treating clothes with permethrin helps.
DEET isn’t a carcinogen. The reason why you don’t see much stuff above 25% is A: Diminishing returns for effectiveness while being much more expensive to manufacture B: DEET is an excellent solvent, and will dissolve many synthetic materials and plastics.
>DEET is an excellent solvent, and will dissolve many synthetic materials and plastics.
This is true. I've partially melted a tent before
DEET is safe on nylon but will damage polyester.
Just get some tobacco and lavender to ward them off.
Also, insect traps. Try to get some rabies-vaxxed male bats too.
Eat pork, mosqueitos are repelled by it.
Literally start a garden. Rosemary, basil, thyme, mint, lemongrass, garlic, and fennel all repel mosquites.
If you want more decorative plants, mosquitoes hate marigolds, lavender, and latana.
If you got cats, plant catnip. (or if you want random cats, lol)
so I heard tobacco used to be used as a pesticide way back in the day when you could buy like 25lb bags, etc.
Today I was fishing and had a fat lip of copenhagen and watched several mosquitos bite me and fly away fricked up looking and soon dying.
don't start using tobacco if you don't already because it's not worth it but hey it's kind of nice knowing the ones that get me die soon after.
Picaridin. Deet is terrible.

You're less likely to get cancer from DEET than you are west nile, lime, or other diseases from biting insects.
Stuck with deet. What brand do you people recommend. I'm a simple ingredient kind of a gay
eat raw garlic
