How much better is 77gr OTM?

It’s at least double the price of m193. Is it that much better that I should be buying this stuff for a home defense rifle (either 10.5 or 11.5) vs just using standard m193, or is m193 good enough? Besides the price difference, was also thinking it would be better to train/fight with the same round, there would be some shift in POI most likely (not enough to matter for SD distance, but still).

At home defense distances, it literally does not matter. M193 will reliably fragment out to about 50 yards from a 10.3” barrel. So unless your hallways are 60 yards long, you’ll be fine.
Could you get something more purpose built and less velocity dependent? Yeah. You could also pick something barrier blind or something like varmint ammo that’ll explode on contact with almost anything

Their 55gr sabres do. That's it. That was the only round anyone's had a problem with.

77 gr out of a 10 inch barrel is frickin stupid and a waste. m193 or anything will work fine

    >10.5 barrel
Just get .300blk or a draco. It'll sound more pleasing when you go the range and it's purpose built for that length barrel. Otherwise, just get the cheapest fricking surplus 5.56 you can find. It doesn't matter anyway, everyone will hate you.

Shoot whatever you can afford. Any SBR is going to give diminishing returns.

I keep my HD rifles loaded with Nosler BTs because I like my neighbors, even tho they aren't close by.

77 grain TMK rounds are better but even harder to come by.
