How long till we see the two A100s pressed into service? They said 2024 and with the A50 losses I'd think they'd put it as a priority. I'd like to see her going, she's very pretty :>

Looks the same, what's the difference?
More tumors
I like its little ha
More important is how long wil they stay in service?
for sure she's a looker, it'll be a shame to watch Ukrainian air defenses or HIMARS turn her to mush because the Ruskies parked her within engagement range (again)
Naruhodo
This is the A100? Isn't the USAF E3 replacement going to be a F-35 variant? Is Russia just adding a toilet? The sensor set up looks identical to the A50.
It uses an active phased array. and a new EW suite.
It is an upgrade to early 1990s tech.
>it has a cute little hat
Shame that it'll be lost to friendly fire/poor maintenance/a boris johnson with a manpads
dont the ruskis know that the le big spinning disc radar is ancient technology at this point?
at this point I'm starting to think the russians don't know anything.
Why are the spindles that attach it so thin? It looks like a strong wind will rip it off
its just the angle and light that makes them look so thin
More cool planes pls
They aren’t that thin, and carbon fiber is strong as frick
They have upgraded it to steer electronically in elevation but still have to do azimuth via mechanical steering. It is a huge improvement over what they had with the A-50.
>wears a reflective yellow PT belt across its entire fuselage
THEY REALLY ARE STEALING OUR TECHNOLOGIES, DAMN IT
>THEY REALLY ARE STEALING OUR TECHNOLOGIES, DAMN IT
implessive even
Hah stupid chinks, they made it banana colored. Typical. Belt Tech doesn't work if it's not neon-tinted, but they just saw yellow and thought anything would do.
>banan
Oh.....
Wrong! They're pilots and therefore officers, so the belt should be blue.
>first enters service in 2024
>first combat loss in 2024
>second enters service in 2026
Only one of the two is a true A100, the other is a test bed for trialing some parts. The radar systems and comms etc will probably need a ton of system integration and testing required to get usable in service. Probably won't help that its an all new radar that combines AESA for vertical scan and mechanical high speed rotation for azimuth.
They still make the A-50, two are being made for export to India right now. And they still manufacture the IL-76. I'm not sure there's any crisis but however the board needs to cope is fine.
The indian A-50's don't use a russian radar system, they use an Israeli one.
So really the only modifications that are done is to reinforce and add the radar dish pylons, all structural shit that doesn't require sanctioned electronics.
Russia can't (easily) make A-50's for themselves.
Please give UAF two fresh juicy targets so the air force nerds can advise and eat popcorn.
Why can't these planes take like multiple fricking missile hits anymore? As big as this plane is it should have hella armor! LIke how could the A-10 take multiple missile hits and still fly and it is smaller than this fricking thing but one hit and an A-50 is going down? Are you shitting me?
>As big as this plane is it should have hella armor!
It should have hella counter measure and detection equipment
