Your picture is actually a perfect reference. Assault pistols like the SP-5 were way more practical before the advent of reliable 18/30/33 round Glock magazines. Now everyone and their mom and their black drug dealer is riding around with a Glock because it's the perfect high capacity 9mm where aim doesnt matter due to sheer volume of fire. The ease of conversion to FA is just the cherry on top.
Going by the difference in barrel lengths between the glock 17 and the mp5, you should see about a 20% increase in muzzle energy with the mp5. Does that answer your question?
PCCs are for noobs with no training on their handguns. I can hit the same amount of targets with a handgun or a PCC. Most notrainings struggle shooting handguns accurately because it's a different machine that you hold differently. It's much easier to flinch or squeeze the grip wrong because the entire thing is held by one grip. SWAT used to use them because theirs were full auto, and a handgun round coming out of a heavier, easier to hold rifle in full auto is easy to manage and keep on target. PCCs still have a place as an easy to control full auto gun, but if you're getting a semiauto it's absolutely pointless. Get a handgun and get training on it so you can actually hit shit.
>assault pistol
here hold my assault ear-pro while I fix my assault glasses and reload my assault mags. everyone, assult cease-fire on the assault range for changing assault targets and sweeping assault brass.
For half of that you can but an MKE AP5, the rest of the money you can invest it in a good arm brace, a MAD MAX bolt head, magazines and ammo.

In some places "assault rifles" are banned, so a PCC are the closest thing to them.
One looks better with a Maglite zip tied to it.

At a certain price point, sure. But some stuff in development for that niche looks like it will be qualitatively better.
that's a 3d render with no sights my homie, what you are looking for is a P90
What the frick is an assault pistol? A braced pistol in an intermediate cartridge, or an SMG, or a machine pistol.
it's an 80s term for legal semi auto machine pistols. it was also used for the tec-9
>semi auto machine pistol
>assault pistol

Matters not. For a gun that size you can just get an AK pistol and get a 2,000% increase in power. PCCs are for manageable full auto.
More noise, more flash, lower energy efficiency
