The first definition is what is applied in this case. People have called empty dreamlike rooms liminal. This is especially in regards to videogames like nintendo 64 and ps1 in which we were transitioning to 3d and some of the features like 3d environments were there without fleshed out meshes and textures which imposed a feeling of odd dreamlike unease. Like a childs imagination of a room and the objects in it, represented but not complete. Large empty unpopulated spaces in videogames or environments are liminal spaces or even more directly in media the white room before entering the matrix in the films in which he loaded in guns is an example of liminal spaces in media. Or another would be the train station at the end of harry potter where he dies and comes back. It's a purgatory like environment.
How do you turn your bedroom into a liminal space?
Diffused lights
Calming wall colors like yellow/green/white
Low profile carpet
Seal off any windows completely, ideally with drywall
Focus on minimalism
most people use it to refer to a space, either real or in video games etc, that is used pretty exclusively for traversal, ie there is nothing of any real use there except a way to get from area A to area B

this is also sorta correct although it's a much gaygier way to say it. the fact that a liminal space might have been traversed often, but never really dwelt in continously, gives your memory of it a very dream-like quality
anyway i have no idea what the frick OP is on about, i guess he wants to make the reddit "backrooms" or something
Kind of sucks being a renty can't even drill a hole in the wall to hang a picture. But the world is so crazy these days I wouldn't want to stay at any one place for life either way.
Remove all windows (a plywood sheet tacked in with paint to match the walls, curtains removed).
Install a drop ceiling with panel lights that hum slightly (you can find all the gear to do this in dumpsters).
Put down fake grass on the floor (cheap from hardware stores).
Remove all decorations and furniture so it's plain walls.
Put the bed in the middle of the room, not against a wall.
That'd get you pretty close.
You can't. Eventually you will become familiar and comfortable with it which will lose the effect. You might consider my house liminal but it doesn't feel that way to me anymore.
what is a turtle head and how would they be holding them in
turtling refers to holding constipation, specifically when you have to shit so bad it sticks out like a turtle head and you have to use your core to pull it back in repeatedly. your are welcome.
>a liminal space?
So what is the 2024 new cool hip woke definition of liminal, or does it just mean you're trans.
>woke
Go back to sleep, sheep.
>sheep
get a job, neet hipster

So a minimalist, traditional Japanese room with folding furniture and no natural light.

you just patch it before you go, takes 5 seconds
Fill the hole with toothpaste.
Do they still make white toothpaste?
>don't want to live in place anymore
>sell house for triple what I paid
>buy nicer house
feels good to be a boomer
You just have to noclip when you open the door.

yeah, you've got it
Repeating patters are nauseating.
Maybe remove the lights from the ceiling and put puck lights on two sides of the floor. Then you can do appropriate art and furnishings instead of
drop ceiling with disney backroom child safety concerns.
smoke weed and drink codeine
like that thread last month, cover the windows and paint all the walls and ceiling the same dark color. Put a mattress on the floor.
black and grey striped beard with a dildo
that's easy
just look up the uncle Ben tek, grow psilocybin mushrooms. dry them (they make dryers for food) and eat 3g
You can't. Eventually you will become familiar and comfortable with it which will lose the effect. You might consider my house liminal but it doesn't feel that way to me anymore.
>I AM GOIN CRAY CRAY FR FR
they look like they're holding turtle heads in.
what is a turtle head and how would they be holding them in

why are zoomers so scared of empty rooms? is it somehow a consequence of being ipad babies?
Imagine spending your entire first years of your life staring at a screen then finally you look up and you see a room
