    Make a list of everything in no particular order, just get it on paper. Then organize your list; mark priority projects, group them into difficulties, time needed, or cost if one of those are your highest limiting factor. Also make deadlines and hold yourself to them, be sure to reward yourself for completing something by marking it off the list.

    Shit, my wife will do something and add it to her list just to mark it off to keep her motivation going.

      Testing alone isn't helpful, is it?
      I assume a positive diagnosis is followed by some kind of pharmaceutical treatment.

      Would ADHD treatment help OP overcome this problem?
      Or is it, "great now I know what's causing it" without any sort of actual means to improve?

        MY entire close family has it. And i probably have it too. Its just that my dad is a nut, and if he learned that i got an Adderall prescription, he'd flip.

        Being aware of the problem helps you understand yourself better. I'm not saying you have to medicate yourself and contribute to big pharma. I'm in the same boat, which is why I say this. I'm not sucking myself off, but I am extremely intelligent and learn very quickly, my issue has always been starting projects, and sticking with the stuff that interests me. I grew up thinking my brain is broken, but it's just different. No conventional "productivity methods" you see on YouTube work. I got tested, found out I had undiagnosed ADHD (no hyperactive symptoms, but they don't call it ADD anymore) and I don't take any medication for it. My fix is that I have to remind myself that I have ADHD every once in a while, and I have to force myself to address the issue. Like I said earlier, the hardest thing for me to do is actually start something, but I have no problems finishing projects - here's a good example: My 3D printer sat in the box, in my office, for 4 years until I forced myself to address it by placing the box on my desk, I therefore had to assemble it if I wanted my desk back. It took maybe 1 hour from start to finish, but it took me 4 fricking years to take it out of the box.

        Yes, you can get medication and if it works (it does for most people) then a lot of the head-spinning motivation inconsistency evaporates and you can actually execute your own plans.

        Exercise, nutrition, and sleep help more than Adderall.

      With most of my projects, despite the initial planning (planning itself is big dopamine hit), I will eventually arrive at the phase when it's just too difficult and watching youtube seems better. Gotta try to push through that feeling step by step. Better than abandoning it.

    Break your projects down into small tasks rather than trying to tackle them as one big project.
    When you complete a task, you will feel a sense of accomplishment that will be a tailwind to completing other small tasks that comprise your various projects.
