Werther's Originals are pretty good. I really like their toffee popcorn with pretzels.

They are though I prefer picrel

I once made a very low sugar birthday cake using no-sugar apple cake recipe and folding roughly crushed sugar-free Werther's into the batter. They melted into gooey caramel pockets through the finished apple cake, it was really good.
Until my ex-wife who I hadn't told about this, saw them in the cake slice, snatched it off her son's plate, tore it to pieces in front of the whole extended family and told them not to eat the cake because it wasn't cooked properly and they'd get sick.

It’s a dramatic concept. Media popularized it because of that drama aspect.

Films, same as the “make a shitty tourniquet out of anything”

I mean if you don't have a proper tourniquet and medical help is a long way away and your friend is literally gushing blood from a femoral bleed and going to bleed out in like 5 minutes, then it's probably worth a shot. If the choice is do nothing and he certainly dies or do something and he maybe survives.

        >inb4 credentialist medtards screech that "good enough" isn't good enough because a belt and a wooden spoon doesn't cost 150 dollars and come with a certificate of authenticity

I've gotten this advice from ER doctors giving a stop the bleed class, it's not movie bullshit. Won't be as good as a proper one that you can crank down and keep cranked down, but a belt has saved many people from bleeding out.

That is literally what you're taught in survival skills.
Sure, I was taught how to do it with a bandage ideally but we were absolutely also told to rip or cut up a t-shirt for it if need be.

Do those have a specific name? Too old for my previous source, halloween, but I love those and I can't find them anywhere

They are called strawberry drops, but it's not like they are a patented name brand product, they are a normal hard candy that dozens of outfits made, so you'll have to see who's version of it was the most like your childhood memories.

It was a thing in the 1800s. It was dogshit and would mostly end with infection or fatal shock, but better than the 100% chance of dying by losing all of your blood. It's moronic now because there are options 1000x better that you can buy for a couple bucks on Amazon.

i have cauterized arteries to stop spurting bleeds, it worked, use a piece of wire and a blowtorch, screams were intense and so was the smell, took a few goes as well
