Unless you have thermals, there's no way to easily locate a shooter past 300m unless you see the muzzle flash or the dust their shots kick up. Suppressors hide that, as well as the muzzle report, which in turn denies easy echolocation of the shooter.
If you don’t have a suppressor when SHTF you are completing and totally fricked. You might as well take your unsuppressed gun and have a nice day in the head

Birdcage doesn't reduce recoil, it moderately reduce muzzle climb. But it worth mentioning birdcage reduces flash comparing to naked barrel by 10000 times (no that is not a typo).
PSA: KAC makes a rip-off/clone of the YHM phantom, literally one of the top three muzzle devices for eliminating flash, including [all suppressors] in one of those three slots

A very real scenario in SHTF is you might be shooting out a window or peephole from inside a house or building. There will likely be others inside with you. Do you really want any type of compensation in that situation? Even with ear pro, that would be extremely fricked.

I brought the two muzzle breaks to the range and tried one right after the other on the same gun, and there was a pretty noticable difference
If you think the size of the holes on the end of your gun will effect your survivability in "SHTF," you won't have to worry about surviving it anyway
