It took the whole of Europe to repel the Islamic expansion. By Allah, we will conquer Europe. If not my arms, then by reproduction.

Muslims will take Europe peacefully by just breeding, we will then just vote to get rid of your dumb degeneracy and institute Islam as the law of the land, Allah wills it.

Hungary is especially hilarious, mongolgays can't deal with it.
    >first invasion: major Mongol victory with Hungarians inflicting relatively heavy casualties
    >"eternal proof that mighty Mongols could have taken Western Europe if they ever bothered to try hehehe"
    >learning frim their defeat, Hungarians start to build stone castles everywhere
    >Mongols come back shortly after, expecting easy victories again
    >second invasion is an abject failure thanks to stone castles everywhere
    >"huhuuuuuuuuh actually it was just a veryyyyyyyy minor raid, Mongols weren't serious ok??? Western Europe would still be easy pickings ok????"

The Golden Horde is not the same thing as the Mongol Empire. It was a frontier state operating using local resources. The aborted effort in the 1240s was the only actual Mongol invasion of Europe. The rest were tiny, glorified (by the occasionally succesful defenders) raids and/or the border forces attempting to keep locals in line. The Mongol Empire proper never so much as looked in the direction of Europe again, it was too absorbed by Far Eastern matters and its own fragmentation.

Subutai was involved in the first effort and got turned back and the later attempts were larger. 40,000 man invasions are not border raids. This is pure cope.

          >Subutai was involved in the first effort and got turned back
They withdrew because they learned of Ögedei's death and Batu, being one of the chief contenders for the succession, needed to be back in Mongolia with a force backing him ASAP. Them suffering significant casualties in Hungary is the real cope; they were perfectly fine and already in the opening stages of invading Austria when they suddenly withdrew.

As an aside, the Mongols had (presumably Chinese) siege engines and engineers with the during the first invasion. Not so in the latter raids, which consistent of whatever forces they could scrape West of the Urals.

      >muh stone castles.
Fricking moron, the Mongols started by capturing China at the time when any random provincial Chinese city made Constantinople's walls look like a wooden cattle fence.
This entire thread is the equivalent of mouthbreathing Scotland simps gloating over the Picts "btfo-ing" the Roman Empire (in their fantasies).
Middle-age Europe was a backward shithole and the Mongols were pushing their shit for the same reason the Romans were pushing random barbarian tribes' shit (technological and civilizational superiority) but didn't bother actually conquering them for the same reason (economically worthless barrenlands outside of their preferred climatic zone).

The Teutonic Order fought for the Poles during the 1st Mongol Invasion of Poland, as they were a fairly notable part of the alliance of christian orders fighting under the polish flag.

Ah yes! Shitty solid mud blocks much better than european castle! Implessive chinese technology only requires to forgo useless defensive structures like the fort actually having an inside, having porticulis instead of doors, any form of slits... But its big and made of dirt! Very implessive!

Hey, have you considered maybe if those forts had inner rooms with things like, yknow, food stocks. Maybe raiders wouldn't have defeated them by cutting supply so often.

Nah, I'm sure the mongols just weren't all that motivated to win when they fought the europeans. I mean, its not like their lifes were on the line.

Mongols were really powerful but anyone believing they were even close to conquering Europe is delusional.
The Mongols would never have been able to get past all the castles in the HRE alone.

The Crusaders also raped Steppe hordes. The Georgians also put up a great fight, enabling them to keep autonomy and then grab independence, only losing due to numbers. Only the degenerate ersatz Europeans, the Russians, actually lost to these clowns.

But Russia is an Asiatic country with Asiatic despotism and and Asiatic populace. Before conquest by the Asiatics they were simply thralls of the Nords, Balls, and Poles.

mongols can't fight on anywhere but steppe
    for longer periods
they have like 4 hporses per guy and they eat grass
in woods or something there's not enough for the horses to eat

Remember: China would have been way harder to conquer if the chinese had actually fought back. Their cities and armies often just went over to the mongols when it seemed to be the better choice. China was conquered less by Mongols than by turncoat chinese.
No such thing happened in europe. The russians became vassals, once they had been decisively defeated. The hungarians didn't, even though they received an offer to become preferential vassals in europe.

I would simply dig a bunch of small holes into the ground and watch as all the distracted horse archers break their horses legs at 20mph.
