>be you >need to cover house in plywood sheathing >thinks screws are better >screw all that plywood >inspector shows up, "sorry anon you need to use nails on sheathing, no pass" >tfw you realize screws have zero shear force >tfw you need to redo it all
Everything has its place
That makes no sense, why the hell would a screw have no shear strength? For equal length and internal diameter they should perform the same if not better than a nail.
>The threads in a screw will hold too well and won't give, so they'll just snap.
thats a pile of BS. screws can rip out of wood just fine without breaking so if it shifts a little it'll just move.
you don't know what you're talking about, drive a screw and a nail halfway into a board the hit it horizontally with a hammer. 9 out of 10 times the screw will break in half and the nail will bend

>9 out of 10 times the screw will break in half
you're using flimsy fragile screws from china, not my problem
No, Nails are made of a different material and bend while screws break. You can get sheer strength from screws but have you buy screws specifically rated for it, which is expensive.
This is carpentry 101 and PrepHole once again shows just how little they know.
Those are borescopes. Endoscopes are the medical version. They've come a long way from when an aircraft borescope kit was the size of a suitcase. I use the USB cheapies often to inspect engines and machinery.
I could explore your mom's hole for a week and still not find the bottom.

If you had a Home Depot shopping spree up to 1k, what would you grab?
1k at home depot ain't shit, I spent half of that in drywall and joint compound last weekend. Maybe lumber to build someone a deck? Could probably swear about $5k over a weekend and a half.
Yeah, I want to get a tig welder but they don't offer a 220v one in stores, only saw 110v multi process for $900 and a basic b***h mig welder for $400. Might be able to get a nice 12" sliding miter saw then some blades for it and a new blade for the table saw. Or a Milwaukee battery impact wrench. Those things are stronger than I expected. I use them at work to do the initial tightening on flanges at work before putting a rad gun or enerpac head to torque them down. Ran down 60 2 3/8" nuts the other day with one. Wish there was 3/4" drive one for the company to buy.
Milwaukee does have a 3/4" drive impact wrench, it's just not common.

Torque Test Channel does the best reviews including dyno tests (he made his own) and is worth a look before buying since cordless tools change so rapidly. I just bought a DCF900B for salvage yard runs and love it but there are multiple great Milwaukees available too.

They are pretty good. I have gotten multiple impact wrenches from their testing and have not let me down. In my quest for the best high torque I got the Bosch GDS18V-740N and got the Ridgid R872071B subcompact for the car. I had others that I gave to my friends and family so they could always get lug nuts off to change a flat tire.

>buying a power tool to keep in your car to take off 5 lug nuts every 5 years.
I actually had a 1k shopping spree for Hd about a year ago. I got a bunch of ridgid 4ah battery’s and 1/2 impact, ridgid grease gun, new torque wrench, some bits and blades and a surface cleaner. I don’t need a whole lot of tools now. Maybe a bigger compressor or a welder I’d guess.
About 30 2"x4"x8'
5 sheets 11/32" ply 4x8'
5 sheets 1/2" ply 4x8'
A bunch of star heads 2.5" long
A few miscellaneous bits, Ryobi blades, a speed square, stuff like that
A partridge
A pear tree
The HD sales this year fricking suck. Memorial Day 2022 I got an M18 Surge with a charger, a 2ah and a 5ah battery for $215 otd. Too bad the surge is fricking garbage and I'm trying to replace it
A better washer
never gonna happen the only good big box washer is at lowes, and speedqueen or miele are priced out.
a bunch of gay smart switches and rgb bulbs so i can make my house fricking insane.
I like your style.
14 2x4's. Also give back the credit card Jamal, that's a felony.
it would take me months to spend that, since I only buy stuff there when I need it.
One of those hand held bandsaw contraptions and the rest of the money on blades for it
Oscillating saw, chainsaw, circular saw, fence panels and posts, french drain, gravel
Bunch a screws, proly. Grabbed nails once, but then saw a youtube bout how only idiots used nails and screws are great, so screws I guess.

Nails accommodate for shifting in framing over time. The threads in a screw will hold too well and won't give, so they'll just snap.

Entirely depebds how they are formed. A good nail has grain to it that forms as the metal is drawn out. Are screws made tge same?

50 sheets of 4x8' UV poly, build a helluva nice big walpini greenhouse
Rent a drain scope for a week and explore any hole I could find
Man you can get endoscopes for real cheap now, like <$50 all day that hook up to your phone
Those are borescopes. Endoscopes are the medical version. They've come a long way from when an aircraft borescope kit was the size of a suitcase. I use the USB cheapies often to inspect engines and machinery.
new power tools and a smoker.
>Those are borescopes. Endoscopes are the medical version
this is PrepHole. You know that Bepis is putting that inside someone.
We has a GC boss that thought the guys could find roof leaks by poking these through the ceiling. They're much better suited for assaulting someone.

Yup. I could probably get a welder and a set of wrenches. Maayyyyybe a leaf blower.

My fellow puget sound homie
To answer your question op, I'd probably just spend it on power tools/batteries
Brilliant
Justin?
Hey what's up
caffine pills cost like a couple cents each

Plants. Mostly trees, but bushes and succulents too. Also some soaker hoses. Maybe some pavers.
/Thread
Trees and plants
PrepHole does gardening threads, no?
A lowes gift card
I would grab some ass. Why are there so many fine ass latinas working at home depot? wtf is going on
I see so many Latina cuties there it's unreal

I would buy a bunch of treated 2x4s for the fire pit. I love the smell of treated wood better.
$1000 worth of nails to be made into caltrops
>shopping spree

Exactly 10 Ryobi batteries (and maybe a few dewalts)
The cashier's breasts

A grand…hmmmm. I suppose I’d buy around 1/5th of the flooring that I need.
>1k
Smart, lost prevention can't get you with that.
Mineral wool.
A lot of mineral wool. And self drilling screws.
