The thing infront is a thermal clipon. The acogs fov looks best when its right infront of that things face and the little eye shroud is just to conceal any light when i’m out shooting rabbits and seething that im too late to kill cayotes because everyone around my part of Utah absolutely wrecks em first.

Ah, thank you.. I was thinking that was some form of NV/thermal.. And the resolution being good enough that you obviously can use the ACOG fascinates me.. I just use white SOLAS parachute flares when I want to shoot them. I do it to keep them off my sheep to ease the workload on my Great White Pyrenees. So when I'm looking to really cut them down I set bait under a large container of tannerite with a touch of racing fuel. Then I tape a glow stick to the container. When I seen enough movement close to the set up. Many splattered coyotes. I'm not far from Ft. Hood so big explosions don't really bother anyone out here.

wrong, the f88 austeyr is designed to have the bolt released with hk slap and we were taught explicitly to use it. looks like moron anon hit it with a fricking sledge or something to snap it or some dumb shit.
they were designed in the 50s based off of slightly modified designs from the 40s and wanted to use most of the same tooling/techniques with slight modification. considering the competition at the time they were pretty good designs. If youre using them contemporarily for personal defensive use and are for some reason gravely concerned about what happens after you need to use the first 30 rnds in a defensive shooting then you can always down load your magazines to a measly 28rnds(i know, how horrifying) and not have to worry about locking the bolt back before reloading.
You can still load a mag on a closed bolt if you use the ultra secret forbidden technique used only by tier 1 autistic german uberkommandos known as as 'loading 29 instead of 30'
