larping like a superpower by having a supersonic nuclear armed bomber ready to go at any moment (hypothetically), if the moronic and unnecessarily high amount of ICBMs, IRBMs and SLBMs were not enough.

Also keep in mind Crimea was "safe" in their minds up until very recently.

I highly fricking doubt an actual bomb or a Tu-160 were actually present, however. They've been using them to launch non-nuclear ballistic missiles round the clock for a while now, and they're armed back in Russia Proper I believe.

Tu-160s are all stored at Engels. The Russians have reinforced hangars for all of them to protect against a nuclear strike destroying their strategic bomber fleet.

They pretty much never leave their hangars except for training or scare-the-sheeple missions (flying one over the North Sea to tell the Bongs and Norwegians "see we totally could nuke you if we want!"), although they did do one international-relations trip down to Venezuela a few years ago.

I think Tu-95 are more common for the provocation flights.

Wouldn't there be much much higher radiation in case of destruction of nuclear weapons? That seems more like someone wandering too close to actual nuclear weapon storage site.

Not unless you hit one directly, nukes aren't that radioactive until they get spicy (nearing critical)

I'd pay actual money to see them go off, cooking the russopigs on the beaches, causing a strong NATO intervention and removal/execution of the russian government.

Don't the jets and the ordinance have some minor radioactive materials in them that might spike the levels if they're all obliterated in a giant inferno?

      Anonymous

Something like this most likely. Radium avionics gauges, neutron flow sensors, americium smoke detectors, radiation monitor calibration source. There's a ton of radioactive material applications combad aircraft might use. And military wouldn't skimp on weak, unrealiable emmiters.

Heat is not going to make radioactive materials radiate harder; nuclear decay isn’t a chemical reaction. Maybe if the sensors were pickup up aerosolized isotopes scattered by explosions or something

LOL. A tritium gauge isn't going to spike radiation like that. If the capsules break, the tritium disperses into the atmosphere, because that's what a gas does, and tritium is a gas.

Heat does the opposite, it expands the metal, causing the atoms to be less packed together, which causes the reactivity to decrease.
Watch chernobyl 2019 if you haven't. It's a good series.

Now it can be set on fire though, since Uranium catches fire ad oxidises with heat, and plutonium is pyrophoric. Nuclear material fires aren't very nice, particularly plutonium.

Well, the country needs to be kept from insolvency, and social services and healthcare are things Ukraine would need to spend money on anyway. There are a lot of wounded civilians and combatants that need care. So when the US and other nations pay for these kinds of things they are indirectly supporting the war effort (of course they also do so directly as well) by enabling Ukraine to spend what resources they have on fighting the war instead. In the end as long as money and equipment go in it doesn't really matter too much what it's earmarked for. Ultimately It all goes towards propping up Ukraine and to keep them in the fight.

Anon be careful with this sensationalist stuff. I remember some anon on puccian imageboard posted radiation counter measurements somewhere in Murmansk or Severodvinsk after Nyonoksa nuclear accident few years ago.
Resulted in huge hype and lots of opposition-leaning media reposting his claims.
Later this gay admitted he disassembled the counter an put a small calibration source inside to receive quite unnerving beta-readings out of the blue.

Do you mean 139 "micro" sized X-ray sources?

"139 Micro X-rays" is a nonsense term without any extra context justifying the term "micro" x-ray and what exactly is being quantified by the number 139?
