God I fricking hate that guy's voice.
Is it even a real persons voice? I'm starting to think that it's just some ukie using AI voice.
he has that flat autism prosody, don't bully
This is how my WarThunder matches start at the spawn
Another day another suicidal mechanized charge across a open field
*doink*
It says that this was enough to disable that tank and it was taken out later.
It might break the track on the left one.
looks like it fricked the turret when it caught the other tank's gun and cranked it around
*given your homies a quick smooch before battle*
Is this gay?
Only if both tanks are a guy.
I'm not familiar with tank naming, but i know all ships are female
only if the barrels touch
Only if the ball bearings are touching.
its fine, they both said "no homo" after jousting
They might as well build a tiny house if they're going to put all that shit on top.
It’s called camo dumbass
>he doesn't know
Wtf is this looney tunes shit
By it being an art exhibit from years ago.
WAR CRIME!!!
How are we supposed to liberate babushka's hut when it's running away from us?!
Funny, but it's actually ukrainian xaxaxa *~~)
Nah, it was just civilians doing stuff for fun.
don't give them ideas anon
impressive hit @1:44 right near the drivers vision block. It's a major weak spot from the front. No ERA and reduced armor thickness of like 350-400mm to make room for the driver
7 MT-LB's and only 1 BMP is interesting, seems like ziggers are finally running out of working IFV's.
>They're unironically going to run out of BMPs
hooooly shit that's crazy to think about
PT-76 when?
It's why we are increasingly seeing more BTRs in these assaults.
Technically not possible within the nearest time. Soviet stockpiles are large and are usually in tens of thousands range. Even with all of the fricked up losses that would generally lend them at 1/2 of the stockpile gone. Thus, the main reason for using shitty tech is the local bottlenecks with reactivating shit from storage. They basically use "at least something", while taking time to activate better gear.
Partially true. AFU can kill those boxes, it's pretty much about hoping that their stockpiles will outlast western support.
>that their stockpiles will outlast western support.
all they need is cheap drones
>Soviet stockpiles are large and are usually in tens of thousands range.
lots of those vehicles are just rust buckets
>lots of those vehicles are just rust buckets
Rust is less on an issue honestly, even with how shitty stuff got stored in ussr/russia.
The process of getting stuff mothballed - "konservatsiya" (i.e. preserving, as in with food getting store in jars) usually involves the usage of something called "push-salo" (pushechnoe salo, "cannon lard"), a thick lubricant covers stuff to protect it from rust and seizing up.
A way bigger issue is stuff getting robbed/dismantled for stuff to sell off, i.e. moving the cables and setting them as copper to a metal dealer, stuff like that. Or hidden cannibalization where the guys responsible for reactivating the tanks use parts from one to fix another, but it never gets logged anywhere correctly, basically creating thousand of phantom tanks which exist on paper, but are partially salvaged for parts.
But even taking that into account, let's say 50% of the stuff won't be possible to reactivate, it still leaves a metric shit ton of stuff available. I.e. have 20k of BMP in storage -> 50% impossible to reactive due various shit -> still 10k available -> still a lot of potential danger for AFU.
A bigger thing is that reactivation isn't magically instant, it takes time, hence the shitboxes we see are a result of it. When a plant works and can churn out 800 tanks in a year of reactivates shit, but you need more, then you have another plant got an reactivate something else, which uses other parts and so on, hence you have T-62s being reactivated because the T-72 reactivation line is bottlenecked. Then you go and start reactivating A-55s, because that can happen in parallel to others and so on.
If they have 10k BMPs left then at the current loss rates they will have barely any in 2 years time. They are burning these stockpiles fast
So why are they riding artillery tractors to battle then, homosexual?
>Soviet stockpiles are large and are usually in tens of thousands range. Even with all of the fricked up losses that woul
How many of them work?
>Technically not possible within the nearest time. Soviet stockpiles are large and are usually in tens of thousands range.
Half of it's probably pawned off, cannibalized, or just plain broke-
>Even with all of the fricked up losses that would generally lend them at 1/2 of the stockpile gone.
Ah, so they're likely almost out.
>while taking time to activate better gear.
T-15's any day now, bro.
they are used to transport POWs. The crests just killed their own again. No surprise.
I know it is not the exact same, but I think it is helpful to look at data on motor vehicles. About 10-15 percent of vehicles leave the market every year due to attrition (mechanical faults, collisions, wear and tear, etc..). Those between 10 and 20 years old the highest rates of loss and it declines thereafter. Although most vehicles have an expiration date, car enthusiasts can and do save the special ones. That is why you see a lot of rare Mustangs saved as a percentage of those produced, but far fewer of the basic ones. Cheap, mass market, vehicles with mechanical faults have the lowest percentage of retention while high end vehicles are saved at the highest rates. I'm confident we'll see the same things with military vehicles. Expensive Tanks and Planes that were produced and rebuilt until the 2000's will have a greater percentage of serviceability compared to cheap IFVs, Trucks, and other vehicles which might have stopped being produced in the 1970's.
Example: USSR built around 20K T-72 Tanks. Of those, maybe 6K were available at the start of the invasion (30%). 40K BMP-1's might have been built but if only 20% were serviceable due to older age, less effort in maintenance, etc..) there would only be 8K available, . Even though there were 2X as many BMPs built, the end result might be far closer in actual fieldable units due to attrition. That is before a shot is even fired.
Obviously these are made up numbers, but I think they help give an explanation as to why certain vehicle types are seemingly in such short supply compared to others. Combined with higher loss rates for IFVs compared to Tanks in the war, I think it is reasonable to assume Russia might struggle with fielding support vehicles which are needed in greater numbers, suffered higher attrition in the post cold war era, and are being lost at higher rates in Ukraine.
Not only that, but Russia has reactivated BTR-50s into service!
two more weeks?
Defeatist! The motherland will be triumphant in liberating Ukraine in 3 days max.
the source for these figures? anon's gaping butthole

https://twitter.com/DefenceU/status/1753299900945646071
so far they destroyed 9000 tanks+ifvs per year you fricking moron
ahh but if you get rid of a 0 and divide by 3 that means they've only destroyed 300 per year, and doesn't that sound more believable....
Just ignore that since the between the 27th and 29th Oryx added 22 tanks and 35 BMPs
With any luck the Russian planning dept will continue to divide by 0.
>ukraine is incapable of killing 500+ armored vehichles a year

The tanks colliding cracked me up something awful. It's not even that interesting, so I don't know why it's so damn funny to me.
It did make me think about that Ukraninan leopard that collided with another one during training though. The ziggers mocked that incident for quite some time, so this is wonderful. God really hates them.
The Ukes weren't used to having that high of a reverse gear.
Yes. I check the semi-daily updates by the oryx team. Once even spotted a duplicate.
If you think theyre wrong in the count, you can submit which one and they'll fix it.
You can also cross-reference their count with the one at WarSpotting who add other details like what unit and where.

I was promised Kiev in 3 days
I never made that promise and it’ll never happen because Ukraine is going to win
new brilliant strategy, have so many burning vehicles that the drones can no longer spot movement through the smoke. hohols will now be caught completely unaware
Those MT-LBs were filled with smoke munitions *~~*~~)
I wonder how it must be for the average Russian conscript to be ordered on such a suicidal mission. You really have to have zero self- preservation instincts to not just say “no” to your superiors and stage a soft mutiny in order to get better treatment after receiving orders for such a poorly conceived attack.
they probably have only a vague idea of how fricked things are
I mean that have to have at least a decent idea that things aren’t great when the assault group from the previous day didn’t return and they are being told to attack the same position.
i mean if you were conscripted a month a go, or even 6 months ago you know things arent going great
>implying the average orc seeks out accurate information
>implying they don't buy into their own propaganda
They're probably content with the "xaxaxa, stupid hohols think they stalled us when in truth we're merely not advancing so they can tucker themselves out first (ignore Kyiv, Kharkiv, Kherson, Pavlivka, Vuhledar. Avdiivka, ...)" cope.
Probably told they're mopping up isolated pockets of demoralized NATO mercenaries or similar.
>I wonder how it must be for the average Russian conscript to be ordered on such a suicidal mission.
Their grandparents didn’t back away when faced with almost certain death against the Nazi’s, so why should they? If they die they’re happy if they get to kill just a singular “Nazi” and protect Africa and China or whatever they’re fighting for now from White supremacist, Neo-Nazi, LGBTQ NATO or whatever.
Their grandparents were fighting a defensive war and also didn't have the Internet to watch thousands of their URAAA comrades getting pasted.
A defensive war involved invading Poland?
I'm going to answer this. They are not told they are storming the same place, they are told to storm the area ahead of the yesterday attack, and the previous ones are fortifiing their gains and defend. Sorta like leapfrogging.
They dont care about the wrecks, because they just think it was a battle, but its over now. Until its too late. They are told the Z markings are psychological warfare in the destroyed vehicles
wtf are the average russian saying at home?
Are they all clueless?
Do they all believe everything is going well?
How about the few mobiks that returns back home? They don't talk?
People have to talk about the shit show at the dinner table or something. The whole nation can't be completely clueless....
>stage a soft mutiny in order to get better treatment
They've done that plenty of times, especially if you count all those appeals to the tsar videos. Sometimes it works, sometimes storm Z gets more volunteers.
Given the casualties suffered and mindless tactics applied I'm genuinely amazed that fragging isn't ubiquitous in the Russian army.
>Given the casualties suffered and mindless tactics applied I'm genuinely amazed that fragging isn't ubiquitous in the Russian army.
Russians keep the weapons and grenades away from mobiks precisely for this reason. That is why in trench storming videos, you see Ukrainian Trench-raiders gunning down fat 45 year old men running around like lemmings without guns. They are only given weapons right before an attack.
A combination of what anons have already said. Also when our minds want something to be true, we easily become delusional. We want to be heroic like our grandparents, we want to fight nazis like our grandparents, we want to be patriots like our grandparents. We ARE defending against evil NATO and we ARE liberating ukraine from the CIA.
They don't know for sure, but MAYBE this is all true. So they go for it.
Also a lot of soldiers sign up for money, but can't back out when they get their reality check thanks to the combination of potential punihsment + peer pressure. Who wants to be a coward? Who wants to let your fellow countrymen do the hard work? We humans are very sheepish after all.
>We humans are very sheepish after all.
Merely Russians, which are something much less than human. All the better for everyone they are being turned to mulch.
>no I won't do it!
>*gets shot*
>NEXT!
If you're lucky you'll get transferred to a meatwave battalion together with a bunch of pedophiles.
Kyiv in 3 more days right? Kherson is Russian forever?
This happened about 10 miles from Vuhledar btw. What could be so important about this area that the Russians are this desperate to throw this many vehicles at it? Especially when every previous try has ended disastrously
revenge for VDV
The hive smelled the alarm pheromones from the other killed mobiks. They're instinctively reacting to danger.
>What could be so important about this area
Putin wants all of Donbass taken for his election campaign. Got Lugansk, so just wants this.
>the year is 2025
>the sighting of a single BMP in suicidal Russian charges is now a noteworthy rarity
>when one is seen every month or so, ziggers take it as a sign that Russia actually has deep reserves left and is simply holding back for the right moment
GOIDA
You're right, Ukraine has already won.
Russia could steamroll over every single Ukrainian position tomorrow and it wouldn't matter because they literally cannot hold the country with their current military.
Now it's just stomping the last of the rats out for good.

>you will hand over the capitals of oblasts we weren't able to conquer in 10 years, because... YOU JUST WILL, OKAY?!
Are we seeing less mines? Two months ago all these vehicles would have self-combusted before the FPVs even hit.
They didn't reach the minefield.
I love seeing armored vehicles in little hats. it gives them so much more personality.
who doesn't like hats?
Why do Ukies wait for russians to flee and then just blow empty vehicles? Wouldn't it be better to destroy armor filled with enemies or at least capture lightly damaged ones?
it would be better if you weren't moronic
this is not avdiivka
explain butthole
>ukies disable vehicle in front
>abandooners immediately abandon all other vehicles
>why are they only destroying abandoned vehicles
In most cases, the vehicle is too far away, meaning recovery is impossible.
And the abandoned vehicle getting droned usually happens some time later, it just seems to be immediate due to editing.
During a battle you are doing as much as you can to stop the enemy. Which one do you use your limited resources on? An enemy approaching or an enemy standing still? They destroy the broken down tanks later because they don't have the leisure to do it during the fight, the ammo/drone used to destroy a tank could be used to kill an attacker.
>Tanks (2700, of which destroyed: 1769, damaged: 149, abandoned: 241, captured: 541)

what's the idea behind this roundabout? to reform the column as needed?
they usually do that after dispatching infantry
red alert 2 remake
Why haven't they developed any form of counter meassure against these fricking consumer drones this long into the 3 day operation.
The threat is unprecedented, and you'd think some stabilized auto turret SPAAG would suffice.
ukraine also didn't develop anything because they are both incompetent
Sure, but Ukraine doesn't also pretend that it has the industrial capabilities of the collective west. They used what was cheap and available to them, and it has just been allowed to roam unchallenged.
NAFO or US also have nothing they could give them.
So Ukraine is incompetent and hasn't received anything useful from the West and yet russia is on day 710 of the 3-day special military operation. Very curious, cumrat.

The vast majority of those drones fail — misses, duds, running out of juice, jamming, countermeasures, mistakes, etc and so on. Ukraine is SWARMING with drones but only a small fraction hit something — we only get to see the highlight reels

I find it funny that warthunder shit happens IRL too
what is this maneuver called?
Struggle for frontline leadership. Two Tanks each seek the right to smoke, so they scuffle until one backs down and lets the more dominant one brew up first. One the first has achieved turretus orbitus, then the lesser tank will launch, though often with less fanfare...
They built themselves a short track, Russia might see the light after all
I wonder if the turret of the other tank got damaged there, looks like the barrel hit the other tank
NTA, but I'm starting to believe you are one of those russian workers assigned here. You seem.... out of place and lost
>yet again omits the fact the threat model regarding drones differs for both

War Thunder players are unironically more competent. This war is a fricking eyeopener. I will never again complain about bad guys in movies acting too stupid.
Because in War Thunder you aren't looking through the tank's optics or a slit. You're looking at the tank, from behind and have ability to control the camera. So it's easier to see other vehicles and obstacles.
it's also not 80+ db continuously and you're not always inside a metal box several inches thick
oh and you don't have the ability to TURN DOWN FRIENDLY VEHICLE AUDIO AND LEAVE HOSTILE VEHICLE AUDIO UP
The Idiot Ball is real.
And those writers you call hacks are actually most realistic ones.
They took the treeline so technically this assault was successful.
driver must be blind
If you'd know it's a one way trip anyway, would you be sober?
Man, russian requirements to become a tankie are tough.
I said elsewhere that this looks exactly what you would get if you took some rookies who got conscripted last september or so, and put them through the bootcamp and give them some basic training in tank use and then just ship them out to a battlefield without giving them any time in combined arms training.
Like they would have had about 4 months worth of training at the barracks (so they know how to drive a tank and maybe shoot the cannon) and then had been shipped off to the grinder and told "you learn best from real experience".
That is what this looks like. A bunch of rookies on their first mission, where they have been given poor training, poor instructions on the mission and just been sent off without their officers. They don't have a clue what they are doing. And it shows.
And knowing Russia, this is exactly what has happened.
>That is what this looks like. A bunch of rookies on their first mission,
and last lol
But yeah, the Russian tactics are just nuts, because they are designed almost perfectly to waste as much men and vehicles as possible. The entire Russian system is self-destructive.
Yeah, it's a zerg rush at this point. Get as many men and fling them at the wall, hoping that somethign sticks.
Russia does not have enough capacity to properly train new troops in these volumes, so they just go with the good old "just ship them to the front, order them to run that way. If you don't get a gun, pick it up from someone who already died" tactic. You don't need much training for that.
Just get some rusty T-54 from the cold storage, give the driver a few days of training so he can get it moving, give the gunner enough training that he know how to aim and fire the main gun, give them half a tank of gas and point it towards enemy lines. At this point they don't seem to be bothering with even ERA anymore. They are not expected to come back.
That's the reason why any talk about "A million men mobilization" is just fantasy. They don't have the organizational capacity to handle such amounts of men. Not to mention to equip and arm them, feed them or shelter them. Or enough officers to give them orders and instructions where to go and what to do. Without the ability to handle all that for a million men, you don't have an army. You have a massive horde of brigands with no food, no place to sleep and no idea what they are supposed to do. That is just a disaster waiting to happen.
why does some artillery leave yellow smoke?
Some sick frick paid the Ukrainian artillery crew 200 bucks to piss on the ammo before firing it at the mobiks.

when does ukraine start winning
I thought they were supposed to have lost two years ago.
no theyre still in the process of doing that
They said that they had no air force or army left, for two years?
>just 3 more days to kief, russia superpower now
What does a Ukrainian loss look like? Do they lose if R*ssia never managed to conquer the territories which they amended their constitution for in order to make them officially part of their shitty mafia state? If the borders freeze as they are today, would you ignore that massive L?
What's the point of cope cages if drones can just fly under them?
I know we've seen Donbabweans and Lugandans with Maxims and other ancient shit but what's specifically the oldest (confirmed) vehicle fielded by actual RF forces in Ukraine? Were T-55s the oldest so far?
Some old lend-lease trucks were spotted in the ongoing debacle around Avdiivka. Those and BTR-50s.
All of the T-55s were of the A variant so built in either the 60s or 70s so technically speaking the BTR-50s and even Grads may have them beaten
Maxims is the oldest stuff in use. But this is still good for defense in a trench war.
at least one 152 mm howitzer M1943 (D-1)
and an
130 mm towed field gun M1954 (M-46)
was spotted
also old trucks like GAZ-51
Wack.
Heavy fighting is raging in all areas of the Kupiansk front, with Russian forces engaging in high-intensity assault operations and deploying new reserves.
