Guys, I took this gold Luger apart and I can't figure out how to put it back together. Does anyone know what to do? I think I might have broken it.
When I put the top part on and pull it back it won't lock like it did when I first removed the panel thing.
>nazi parade lugers
Boomer shit.
Yeah, I think they're probably some weird type of bubba, but idk they're my grandfather's and I need to fix them
There was a resurgence of interest in WW2 in the 1960s, and Lugers weren't super valuable like they are today. You saw a lot of stuff like this get made and peddled at gun shows of the time.
Speaking of which it's so weird to think in my relatively short life I've seen WW2 slowly fade from this kind of sacrosanct creation myth to "just another thing that happened in history". Obviously it's still a particularly important part of history but it seems that weird boomer reverance for DUBYA DUBYA TWO, THE BIG ONE has kind of gone away as all the WW2 veterans die off and boomers begin to go senile.
Except for the holocaust. Mustn't forget that. Ever.
whats that?
Millennials is the last moment where WW2 was really mythologized since we were of age (in varying forms) for that nearly 10 year arc from Saving Pvt Ryan (1998) through Medal of Honor games, Band of Brothers, and Call of Duty until COD:MW (2007) shifted things to modernity. WW2 will always be a bit like the Roman Empire for how often men think about it, but after that it rapidly collapsed from the popular culture. It helps as well that a lot of us had Greatest Generation grandparents, whereas for zoomers they were Great Grandparents and for an 18 year old now they might even be great great grandparents or something.
You need to fix them and you can't even put them back together?
If you have access to PrepHole you have access to youtube and the ability to type "Luger disassembly reassembly"
Did you make sure the dangle goes in the hooker
>the dangle goes in the hooker
You are a bery naughty little boy.
Throw it away, it's fake.
If you're serious about working on Lugers get the Jerry Kuhnhausen book/PDF.
Put the toggle on the slide all the way down, pick up the lower and hold it upside down. Put the slide back in, turn the gun right side up and put the side plate back on, then grip the slide tight and put the takedown lever back into place
Basically what said. Here's a video of the process to help you. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=X2Mras88GEY
>he paid some boomer at a gunshow premium for gilded """parade""" P08s
HAHAHAHAHAHAHA
Did you buy a totally genuine SS dagger as well, OP?
Hurry up and break them so morons can get upset since farming (you)s is why you posted.
literally just put it together the opposite way you took it apart you fool you swine you rube

I hope those are potmetal airshit knockoffs
Check the timestamp on the bottom left note. OP is legit posting his guns.
They're not potmetal, but they're certainly not real Nazi parade guns either.
>I hope those are potmetal airshit knockoffs
It's OP posting his gunshow "HIMMLER'S PERSONAL SIDEARM" bubba specials for attention, moron.
>anon potentially destroying his own stuff
Who cares? MUH HISTORY
It's their fricking stuff
I don't think most anons in this thread care period
Based. All anyone needs is a Glock 19 anyway. Liking old off meta guns is le cringe and downvoted, I hope OP cuts them up with some torches or turns them in at a police buyback where they will be destroyed.
What material or finish would someone need to do to get the faux gold finish with OPs bubba Lugers?
gold electroplating if homie is a true balla
TiNi/PVD/DLC for real homiea
gold paint. metal coating, Cerakote or anodized if a poor homie
Thank you my wigger
basically they first polish, then coat it thick with nickel, then gold electroplate over that nickel, as thick as you want within reason and price. TiN/PVD coating is far more durable and cheaper than gold electroplating, so you could go that route for a similar to gold finish, and don't need to do that initial nickel electroplating step either, just raw steel.
Thanks for the guide. I am a tacky guy and would like to try some DIY on some small components so this will be a big help.
yeah electroplating you can DIY at home, there are cheap and expensive DIY equipment for it, and all the solutions are available for purchase usually. PVD you'd need to let professionals do it for you.
Yeah PVD does seem to be out of my reach personally but electroplating looks like it would do the trick.
I will definitely check them out!
this might be an even bigger help.
Watch many videos on luger assembly and disassembly, it's pretty easy to do, but hard to explain in text.
page 1
and page2, in pictures.
And yes, those guns were probably dolled up in the 1960's.
For the love of god destroy that thing or dump it in a vat of aqua regia then have it reblued.
good bait, you even made sure to include a timestamp and used your own gun to make people think its real
but the image is way too scripted, try less next time
Your step dad is gonna be pissed
