Hello. Last night I wished to unlock my mother's car. It was late at night and without light. I inserted his key into the door lock. I have no idea if it's in the right direction or not. By forcing it a little to insert it I blocked the key. And it's no longer possible to take it out. The car is safe in the yard of my house however I had to leave it open.
>I tried pouring hot water with no success. I forced it by leveraging it without success, even worse I broke the connection between the remote control and the metal rod that makes up the key.
I beg you help me anons.
The car is a Peugeot 207.

Don't worry about it. Murricans are having a lot of trouble with misgendering too.

    Pull it out with pliers?
You might have to call locksmith

This and pull straight do not bend. Heat will not help. If lock is damaged they aren't usually hard to DIY replace.

do you turn it to a point where the key expects it to be pulled out?

It’s broken, there’s nothing you can do that won’t destroy it, and to fix it yourself will make the car look shitty (interior door panel can snap clamps and not sit right and you might frick up how the window rolls up and down)

Just take it to a body shop. Buy once cry once. Lesson learned.

If we all followed your “just pay daddy to fixy” advice there would be no PrepHole. You are unironically banished.

Some people should not PrepHole because they have below room temp IQ. OP is one of these people.

Locks are designed to be pretty bullet proof-they’ve been in wide use for centuries.
For future reference, when you have to push the key in, and it’s 10 times more difficult than usual, so you get out a hammer, and continue to bang it in, that usually means it was in upside down.

Every car I've used seemed to not be like that.

Old GM cars are probably the only ones with one-sided keys. You had a different key for the ignition too.

Are you sure that the key is at its "zero" position? All keys will not come out as soon as they start rotating in the cylinder. If you pulled with all your might, you might have damaged the pins and they are not going back up their chambers when trying to pull the key out. If that's the case, then t'es niqué, keum.

The blade of that key is attached to the shell with a pin.
Probably the pin was broken and fell apart.

You just need to pull with some pliers (maybe some thin ones, so you can insert the tip from one side on the pin hole) or use some wire through the hole and pull from that.

Sidewinder cut keys can jam in, or the tumbler can fail and jam them out. The pins collapse from wear, and foul the lock core. Failure point happens more often when key is inserted or withdrawn too quickly.

    Problem solved.
    Did it myself.

Bravo, j'espère que tu es fier de toi, tu sais arracher un truc avec des pinces. Et tu as changé la serrure, la clé?

That's exactly the kind of key i had in mind when I said 'sidewinder cut'.

The pins in there, wear out in a way to jamb the key in (or out). E.g. replace the lexus keyway with a toyota one, problem solved. Much more cheaplier than buying a lexus part. Externally-cut standard keys, don't have that problem.

tennis ball can create a decent seal around the lock a small slit for the key nub to fit and create a large air blast to loosen whatever is in there might want to put a rock in the tennis ball so you do not bump the key in deeper on rapid compression.
