weld funkopops together
>been a welder for 10 years
>can't think of ways to make money welding stuff
fricking wow
Im a pipe welder
Get a job as a welder
>I've been a welder for 10 years
Fricking idiot.
What the frick does that matter? I'm thinking you're lying almost completely about the whole thing. Time stamp your Tig and post a picture, or gtfo.
I am currently working as a welder, looking for additional earnings. I work 10 days on-site, and then I am home for 4 days. Right now, I am at the workplace.I need some inspiration on what to do, I've been thinking about making metal sculptures like the one in the picture. My friend would cut the metal sheets on a CNC laser.
>Didn't take pic of timestamp TIG
You know what to do anon.
please tell me you're doing good looking full welds and not that ugly ass tagging like your picrelated.
bonus if use stainless for rainbow welds.
Thinking about it, I haven't done anything yet, and I believe it's better to make it out of carbon steel instead of stainless steel. If I opt for stainless steel, I would probably have to pacify the welds, as it looks bad when only the welds rust on the piece. Some of my welds, in the meantime.
Top-notch work, anon.
Thx
You a bad muthafricka’ anon. I’ve always been mystified/have hatred for guys like you. Fricking robots.
I don't know what you're exactly trying to say, but I didn't wake up one day with the skills. The grind was hard on my first job; I was grinding the whole day welds from other welders and practicing welding on the breaks many times in the first year, thinking of opting out for a warehouse job
bonus for rainbow welds.
Holy shit that's nice. It's almost as if you could get ideas from origami.
yes use it to weld stuff for money
I have checked the prices, and they are sold quite cheaply, so I cant make profit from it, when I consider the material and my time invested, and also the fact that my quality will never be as good as the store-bought one, you can buy it for 85 euros online.
I'd be making stainless steel "water" stills if I could TIG. Raw material costs are very low if you use an old stock pot as the base
Make some funky little scrap statues and just list them on facebook marketplace. Maybe offor to do custom orders as well
I will try, I guess it's going to take some time and trying to find a niche. I'm going to try to offer some repairs to
custom exhausts / roll cages / auto fabrication
This is the way. Specialize in German cars like Porsche. 911 owners are big morons who will pay tens of thousands of dollars to ship their parts all over the world because someone specializes in things like turbos or transmissions. Start cranking out pretty exhausts and you’ll have years of backlogged work.
The problem is that I have absolutely no idea about cars, roll cages are okay, but exhausts, turbos, no idea
their tubes, thats about it, sometimes thoes tubes combine with other tubes. if you can pipe weld im sure you got this buddy.
You need to get good to make money so build a practice area and cut standard practice coupons you then grind and bend test.
The machine doesn't think for you. Practice setting your amps etc on matching scrap and never practice on a workpiece. Forums are your friends.
Like I said, I've been doing this for 10 years; the welding is not the problem. I pass every bend test, every X-ray. The engineering is the problem. If you point the finger at it, I'll weld it, but what should I weld? No idea. I'm heavily specialized in welding
Car mods, custom motorcycle exhausts and other parts, casting repair (get good and boat shops will seek you for prop and foot repair) and similar.
To add, if you can TIG castings on the engine (where reasonably practical, like bracket ears) and do stuff like drilling out the centers of nuts then TIGing them over damaged studs for easy removal that's also money.
Find small machine shops and show them your welds. Many contract welders for overflow work.
What do people need in your location? Many US TIG welders repair restaurant equipment (stainless steel). Your machine is small enough to be mobile.
