Hello frens, I go winter camping every year during my winter break, but my set up has usually been just a pretty solid sleeping bag and a regular tent. Last year though leaf winter got pretty fricking cold, so I was considering getting a hot tent since they seem unbelievably cozy. Reckon this is a good idea? If so what's the cheapest possible stove / tent setup I can get that'll keep my nights cozy?

That should work fine. Its a small tent so heating it up should be easy, even if the material does a poor job of keeping the heat in. Having glass in your stove has its pros and cons
      Pros:
      >light source
      >you can watch the fire burn and see how much log is left
      Cons:
      >will eventually get covered in soot
      >risk of shattering, making the stove useless

This is what I'm using. I've living in it up to a month before, I'm thinking about going fulltime when I buy some land

This doesn't look very easy to lug around on you.

This whole summer I've been problem solving and dreaming up in my head an ultra-mini stove concept. Going to Lowes and looking at all the random objects that might be of use I came across pic related
        it's a metal conduit box
        =5.75
        =2.75
        =1.75
Weight can't be more than 2 pounds. I've field tested it and she definitely burns well! Although I am worried about it being Aluminium it seems to have withstood multiple burns for hours on end. Yes the chamber is small so you have to keep refeeding every hour but it is what it is.

Don't buy from Luxe in the USA, they will take your money and never ship anything. The "in stock" is a lie.

Don't buy the luxe, it's a royal pain in the ass the set up once it warps from heat.
Folding ones with the clips might be better

If you haven't pulled the trigger already: DON'T buy Luxe.

        1. Luxe has an awful reputation of not delivering on their orders for the last two years. Google them and you'll be bombarded with complaints.

        2. Their tents are garbage. The seams are impossible to seal and it leaks in even the gentlest rain.

If you're gonna splurge on hot tenting Seek and Kifaru are the only options that aren't cheap chinkshit, unless you buy a tarp and convert it yourself.

Perhaps I shouldn't be surprised by the negative comments considering the low price. Hadn't heard of the brand before, just happened to see the tent on a site.

I mean I have the 3w and minipeak XL 3p tent.
Eventually I'm going to change to a tent large enough to set a chair in and the pomoly traveller stove.
The tent is good, but the stove set up takes like 20-30 mins with cold hands and your hands get soot covered.

Also, I don't know if that extra 200$ is worth the hassle of the 3w or not. I bought mine full price and just wish I had bought a folder or solid stovkv4wge

I used to have a Gstove, it was absolutely brilliant. It has a flashing kit, so you can attach it to any basic canvas tent you like. Well worth it, super cozy, go for it fren!

Might not be the cheapest but I would recommend Seek Outside Silex w/ stove jack and the 12" Lite Outdoors stove with arrestor. Lite Outdoors shipped extremely quickly and Seek Outside is a great USA based company.
