From a historic point of view, are these the most unstable times since WW2?

climate change could be a disruptor without being caused by humans.

Climate is changing all the time and has been a major influence on civilizations around the planet. There's an argument to be made the fall of the Roman Empire and the dark ages were caused by a cooling climate in Europe and the Renaissance coincides with a warm period.

          lmao

Rome fell because of a pandemic (Justinian Plague, legionaires got sick and couldn't defend borders anymore).
Dark Ages had a warm time, Renaissance got the cold snap (Hence witch craze etc. because witches were held responsible for the shit weather).

Rome fell well before the plague of Justinian. The plague stopped them from reforming it

If you don't know about the goths, the huns, or the battle of adrianople then you cannot talk about the fall of Rome. A cooling climate led to migrations of tribes into roman lands. The roman military system had revamped itself from relying on the legion system to using foreign auxiliaries and was weak because of this.

A warming climate is usually a sign of prosperity not of destruction

          >Climate is changing all the time
I really do not know why this is such a hard concept to understand for NPC's. Especially since even the """History""" books they learned from in school in geography and also biology constantly talk about this. They see their favorite entertainers and politicians like Obomo buy islands that they themselves claimed to be underwater by now. Sure there is nothing strange at all about paying millions for islands that are sunken places in 5 years.

Warming periods usually coincide with times of prosperity and peace. Plants grow easier and there is more land to use along with the winters not being so long and brutal. The Pax Romana occurred during the Roman climate optimum.

Chaos and collapse coming from a period of warmth, natural or unnatural, is very unusual

Times today are more unstable than WW2
In world war 2 the west had sufficent oil reserves for industrial civilisation to continue. Today we do not, whilst we also have enough nuclear weapons to destroy our civilisation several hundred times.
