the closest thing i can think of is when a range master asked me to move all the way down range because my nagant was scaring the new shooter lessons

We deal with a lot of new shooters that teacup their pistols or hold them wrong and get slide bites so we don't allow rapid fire in there

Only gun range I ever went to had a rule that you could only shoot with your dominant eye. It was like 9th on a list of 30 some rules I had to read when I was signing up. It was right above the no spitting on the grass rule and somewhere around the no tinted safety glasses rule. Told the guy that I didn't think the range was for me and he got all pissy and said "well good luck finding another range around here". homie There is 100 gravel pits and thousands of acres of public land. I really just didn't want to find out the level of crazy that went on in that range.
Indoor gun ranges are typically a waste of money.

My range used to be members only but now they started letting nonmembers pay during the weekends and now it is the worst time to visit.
Thankfully it's 24/7 so I can go any other time during the week.

I’ve got young kids so for me range time is generally about an hour and a half Saturday and Sunday while everyone’s taking a nap.. luckily theirs an indoor range about 5 minutes from my house.. I haven’t looked at the rules super close, but the gist of it is if you want to do holster stuff you need to have taken a ccw class. If you rent a gun you have to buy the ammo from them. It’s 24$ to rent a lane for as long as you like… I just got the 30$ a month membership so lane rental is free.. no steel core… the only weird one is “nothing over 2000 fps.” So no 5.7 which is kind of a bummer but apparently the roof isn’t rated for it and they don’t want someone sending a round through it being stupid… only other strange one was you have to wear over the ear earmuffs.. you could still put earplugs in underneath, but they want to be able to see it on the cameras. Other than that it’s just generally don’t be an idiot with a firearm…. I think a lot of times if you just talk to the people at your local range and go regularly they’ll lighten up when they learn you aren’t some kind of autistic sperglord..
