Give it to me straight, fellers. Did I make trash? Waiting on a PA Prism and can't decide between a Surefire or Modlite. What the frick did I even make?

That's what I thought. I had an idea and bought almost everything I wanted to make it look how I wanted, but it's lacking zazz.

barrel length too short for that caliber.

    >barrel length
    >HBPDW brace
    >that prism better be a 1x
You dropped a fat stack on a build that'll never be anything more than a truck gun. If it runs reliably I wouldn't be mad. The HBPDW is neat except you need a proprietary buffer and wobbles so much when extended your groups will suffer past 100y

Yeah, I'm not entirely pleased with the HBPDW. Mine feels pretty sturdy, but I might look into something like a Mod 2 or blade type. And hell yeah 1x!

Throw that directly in the trash

I read that Zev had tighter tolerances and that's what I was after mostly. It is pretty tight. Had to thermal fit the barrel and the receivers have no wiggle. I haven't had any issues with Lancers, but I do have Gen 3 PMAGs, too.

zev is a normie hypebeast brand, back when gold nitrite barrels were still 'cool'. im sure its a perfectly ok AR and you'll probably struggle to get your money back selling it private so just run with it. the PA prism is a sorta goofy choice for 11.5/10/5. i'd save up for a suppressor now that wait times are down, though pretty much everything is on backorder at the moment.

Dots don't look clear to me. I was trying to give it another chance, but it's pretty mishaped to my eyes . Figured a 1x prism might help.

yeah i get that. 1x prisms are OK but they are definitely an awkward compromise, at least the PA microprisms are reasonable, definitely do not get tricked into buying the 1.5x acog, its a pure meme.

I've had both. The PA 1x prism I put on a PS90 which has a higher rail. After sighting it in it gave horrible double vision looking through it with both eyes open. Imagine a 1x prism optic being completely unusable with both eyes open. This happened because cheap prisms clarity fall apart the further you have to adjust elevation or windage on it. I've used the 1.5 ACOG on multiple guns and even pushed its windage to the very edge and still had perfect clarity.

People comparing Primary Arms to ACOGs are coping so incredibly hard. I do think the PA is decent for a erage guns shooting up close or at indoor ranges, but anything deviating from ideal shooting conditions turns them into garbage

I'll probably steer clear of that one. I hear great things about the PA. I notice I can flip up my rear sight and view the dot through that and it looks fine, but that kind of sucks because I lose a bit of clarity.

That kind of sucks to hear. I'm open to the risk of buying one and if it sucks, it shouldn't be hard to sell. I thought about an EOTech, but they charge you like 100 more for green. Bastards.

It doesn't say PSA on either receiver. Schwat? Hell. I actually didn't order anything from PSA now I think about it.
