I run a cnc and I'm moving sheet goods all fricking day. Inch thick cast acrylic weighs almost 200lbs.

Personally I loved teaching women how to use tools. They usually don't get exposed to that stuff as kids and I think it's things everyone should know. Taught the gardener at my old job how to use all the woodworking tools so she could make her own garden boxes and fences. I've never seen a woman in the workshop has ever thrown a temper tantrum like the guys do.
that's good. i work with two toolmakers now and the new one just decided to hate the older one. So he gets made if i ever ask him a question.

Yeah, what the frick is up with that? Like petulant children. As if getting angry at the work is going to make it easier. Interestingly, it happens less when there's a woman around.
My company did a statistical assessment on productivity and worker satisfaction in mix gender teams, about 10yrs ago.
They had us do routine tasks in teams we didn't usually work in for two weeks. Was a fun experience to see how the other shops had lots of little differences while still being mostly the same.
The most productive randomly selected group of 20 has 1 women on every 19 men.
An all female team is about 66% as productive as the 1/19 team.
An all mens team about 90% as productive.
Every women over 1/19 takes about 2% off of productivity.
Satisfaction of men is highest with 3 women on 17 men, and satisfaction of women is highest when they're the only women on the team.
We work in a mix between office stuff (mostly documentation) and pcb workshop/machine shop, so this might not be representative of other types of workplaces.

Calling something a 'piece of fricking dogshit' really does make things run smoother. But beyond minor cussing, I don't understand temper tantrums or explosive outbursts.

Over the years I've worked around a couple women in the trades, doing some sidework roofing that had a woman on the crew, and the rest just on the same residential site working in close proximity. I've worked around women working on flooring crews, electrician crews, and this older painting contractor lady.
The painting contractor has a great reputation in my area that goes back years, the girl I did tear off, decking, dry-in and shingles with did the job as well as anyone else though she was very into fitness and was quite buff (and not a dyke lol).
Let's face it, men who work in offices do the same gossipy chatter as the women. My friends working in software development at the same company spend a good deal of time running their mouths and acting like mean girls

Now this I can mostly believe. Cute girly girls don't really need to get into the trades and those that do are often chasing something aside from the actual work.
Not saying they don't exist, just that they're rare.
Most women tradies are either fat dykes, enbys or just uggos.
The hot tradie chicks only exist on instagram, and when you do get a hot one in real life, they’re usually useless, or quickly move on to other careers.
Real trade work trashes long hair and roughens up skin.

There's a 21 yo chick that works on our shop. She's more competent than half the guys I've worked with, and is actually cute/almost normal. Somehow no drama though - every guy has a wife or gf. Only person that causes drama in the shop is a decrepit boomer who will stir the pot when you don't shop vac the bandsaw after a single cut or something.
shops are full of autists, it used to be the only safe space for them.
