Gift Recommendations?
My husband is an autist and likes all the things. Is there a niche hobby that I could get some starter stuff for him?
He likes radio stuff, loves cars, enjoys puzzles, anything medical
I got him word working stuff last year but that was not as interesting to him.
He also likes models. He is very PrepHole if that makes a difference, if there is some body related thing that would be good.

Any suggestions?

If OP is a considerate enough spouse to come all the way here and solicit honest opinions for her husband’s sake, then she probably has this angle covered.
For a serious answer based on OP’s description, i’d wholeheartedly endorse

Or if he’s a musician look into one of those ‘build-your-own-amplifier kits’

Ok so she already lets him put it in her butt... Maybe she has a hot friend that she'd consider doing a FFM 3-some with?

Cute that you assume OP is a she.

        Only option OP has.

    Steak and a blowjob.

What is your price range? What does “radio” mean. Like ham radio autism, or stereo autism?

You could get him a mini lathe for a few hundred bucks.

Or look up what he’d need for a giant magnet driven ball launcher. Just buy him the massive stack of magnets and some links on how to make one.

Box 1: some rope and a guide to bondage knots.
Box 2: some d-rings, u-bolts, and an electro shock dog collar. He can put his woodworking skills to use.

A gift card to Micro-Mark. They are pricey so you’ll want to be generous. They have an awesome selection of model and hobby tools. Bonus points if paired with a model so there is a box to open.

    How about a 3D printer?

Great idea. I don’t have one either, but I find uses for it every day. Just broke the top on my coffee grinder… I wish I could just print a new one.

    radio stuff & cars & models ....

maybe a radio controlled car. Nothing too 'extreme' looking and nothing too cheap.
Or maybe a gift certificate to a place that sells radio controlled stuff. they have drones too, and also usually some sweet ass models

Did you try Smith-Corona? That is probably the best for someone to get in to word working.

for me and my wife we usually just talk about what things we would like before hand and buy them as presents we both know about in advance, the surprise is not as important to me as getting something I will use and she doesn't like surprises at all, have you considered asking him?
about the 3D printer, you can pick up a second hand ender 3 v2 neo for that price, not sure about new, it's a decent starter printer, think about whether he has mentioned any problem that a 3d printer has solved though because it would be a shame for it to go unused
if you're open to multiple smaller presents, maybe get him some loras for his radio stuff

See if he would be interested in a scale remote controlled rock crawler. It is basically a model vehicle with a ton of upgradeable parts to fiddle with and is remote controlled... I have seen some people run with that hobby for a large portion of their lives and not get tired of it. So many options available! Also it would help if there is a local hobby club dedicated to r/c rock crawling...

Was he by chance talking about an RTL-SDR? I've got one and they're quite a bit of fun. Bear in mind they do not transmit, only receive.

I don't do planes much, so I have good recommendations. Every major kit manufacturer has put out lemons before, or has slowly improved their game. In the end you gotta look up each kit and see. Tamiya is probably the safest bet tho if you dont wanna do the leg work.

      Thank you!

Also someone said something about radio stuff, he doesn't have any but I know he is interested.

He is also into solar storm stuff, space stuff

Thank you everyone for your suggestions! This has been super helpful!

Cool, that might be a good choice then, remember to budget for filament if you go that route and if you have budget left over consider a nozzle upgrade or some other improvement
        >Also someone said something about radio stuff, he doesn't have any but I know he is interested.
if he has no radio stuff at all there are a lot of presents you could get him, mobile radio, an antenna, the loras, or money for his technician's license that he needs to broadcast might be the most sensible one to include

I think it's sweet you're putting the effort in for his present

Your husbando is a lot like me, technically minded, autismo, picky.

        Here's some ideas:
Forget the 3d printer, printers that are in your budget (also filament) need a lot of tinkering time to work properly. To really use them he needs to know how to CAD which is a rabbit hole in itself. Imho avoid.

I'd rather get him a soldering iron/station and basic accessories like solder, flux, cheapo desoldering pump etc. ask /ohm/. He could build his own amp or pedal or get a basic radio kit, depending on skill level, wire some models up with positional lights and so on.

Or do something together. Something like deutsches Museum or go to an observatory, look at the stars. Get him a course for woodworking (chisel sharpening, planing, luthier stuff...) or welding. You could join him? There are public institutions (like VHS in Germany) or companies that offer courses (dictum).

If he's really trying to hardcore into woodworking get him plans for a medieval lathe (the one with a springy branch) and basic tools (saws, chisels, 90° angle) (if you have a suitable place, this will make a lot of dust).

What do you wish for? What should I get my gf?

    >Are there 3d printers that arent a bajillion dollars? My budget is, I guess is 250ish.
ender 3 for $200 will allow his tism to flourish by being the single most popular and most modded 3d printer on the planet. you'll have to look up a guide on which to get because the company sells like fricking 18 different versions of just the e3 from the latest to the very first revision 0 model from 2018 because they're idiots. don't quote me but I believe the latest and greatest is the ender 3 v3 se or some shit like that.
alternatively he can build his own like a voron or ratrig which would outperform it in every way, but you'll have to 5x the budget so maybe test the waters with an ender first.

Get him a 5-6 lb container of protein powder, probably whey isolate. Does he have home gym stuff, or does he do the gym membership thing? If he's got a squat rack, you could get him some nice additions for that. For DIY things, if he likes models, you could get him a couple of smaller kits.
