Why does everyone talk shit about bullpups?

      Anonymous

Because most people do not own them, let alone shoot them.
People do not want to feel invalidated or outperformed.

it just seems like an all around better idea outside of having to retrain your muscle memory on reloading

          Anonymous

Okay but that's gonna be a temporary issue whereas bullpups are a better layout and will be in the long run

Or so I hear??? Lots of armies seem to be transitioning AWAY from bullpups. Is there some downside nobody brings up a lot?

            Cost. That's literally it.

if you have an iq above 90 you can switch rifles and still understand how it fricking works. ARG morons who say shit like this literally own an AR15 and thats it.

Some of their gamer stats like reload speed are slightly slower.

wait really? I'd assume it's faster

I guarentee it wouldn't have the issues the sig shit has.

Bullpups are just common sense. You are using space more efficiently. Everything else will be as obsolete as revolvers soon.

Anon the upside is that you get a slightly longer barrel. Thats it. You traded a shorter barrel for shit ergonomics. The reload isnt slow but its awkward at first. Its like choosing chopsticks over a fork, you did it purely out of monkey see monkey do and it becomes easy after a while, but ultimately it was just easier and faster to use a fork

That rifle with the Sig machine gun was always the correct answer but having different ammo technology meant they couldn’t do it.

Also bullpups are and always have been based.

The Textron should have won, but they got trapped in patent lawsuits

I concur, CT has so much more potential compared to plastic case or hybrid case tech. I can only hope someone revisits the concept in the near future or the Sig flops to get it a second look

      >The Textron should have won, but they got trapped in patent lawsuits

More like it was a jam-o-matic. The NGSW was written in such a way that all they had to do was not frick it up to win, as it was just a continuation of the LSAT program......and they fricked it up.

        >jam-o-matic
Never actually seen one jam or heard anyone say it jammed. It was purely an assumption on the part of onlookers. They certainly could have picked a better ejection port though

If it had forward ejection, I think it would have been better. Combined with the KINOSAT machine gun it wouldve won like it deserved to

My guess is the inherent reliability issue was a killer. Also actual shooters dislike bullpups.

It's preferred here because first, it doesn't look stupid, and second, the cartridge it was supposed to use wasn't fricking moronic and still met Army requirements.

I just think most people here are morons who have no idea what they're talking about. People saying this should've won are the same type of moronic as those who want 10mm everything and then don't buy said thing when it comes out.

Don't worry. Australia will choose it's home-grown bullpup for it's NGSW 6.8mm program.

The only way I'm ever buying a 6.8mm hyper-pressure rifle is if we get a civvy version of this stateside.
