I always thought it was so moronic in Metal Gear Solid that you couldnt pick up weapons I literally couldnt even visualize what they were referring to until this very moment
they do, though those products are usually shitty and easy to circumvent. The goal with the smart gun and smart car shit is to do the metal gear solid shit and disable all of them
>I literally couldnt even visualize what they were referring to until this very moment
this homie literally explained to Snake why he couldn't fire the M4 due to the ID-lock not working with old gen nanomachines
Me too but kojima stole the idea from other works of fiction. I have no idea why morons worship his games when thief had better stealth, splinter cell had better shooting, and death stranding is just kinda fricking gay and moronic.
Id assume it uses a thumbprint or electronic key on your dominant hand. Still less moronic than a smart gun because you can always seperate it from the gun permanently
>oh shit time for gun >*BEEP* FINGERPRINT NOT RECOGNISED >come on come on >*BEEP* FINGERPRINT NOT RECOGNISED >god frickin damnit >*BEEP BEEP* PARTIAL MATCH, CLEAN SENSOR AND RETRY >frickfrickfrickfrick >*BEEEEP* THANK YOU FOR CHOOSING SMARTGUN, PLEASE UPDATE FIRMWARE TO CONTINUE
Whats worse is it isnt just a beep its a shity little up chime, an attempt to make it less obnoxious and give it a bit of sound personality but it would be the most awful 4-6 key tone every time your pistol failed to unholster.

this isn't "people destroying machines, so that they can go back to sewing one shoe in 8 hours", this is pawing the road for goverment being able to disable your gun, with absolutely no measurable gain for your side, unless you're a mouthbreathing moron who will still be able to accidentaly hurt innocents/himself or lose the firearm with all the security measures in the world
go back to plebbit

Children are stupid, especially very young children who will grab anything they can reach, it's why cleaning liquids have child locks. What if the child is also special needs, or if they are some edgy teenager who might invite his moronic friends over. In theory this gun allows you to have easy access to it in an emergency while keeping it safe from misuse. No way to know how well it works in practice yet but there are benefits to it over a regular gun in a safe.
So, what, being locked out of your gun because the bio fricked up is a good thing now? You know damn well the powers that be will take advantage of this if it catches on you fricking mouthbreather. Remember what John Deere did to their stolen tractors during the war? Granted I agree with what they did, but imagine what they could do (and are already doing) to domestic tractors? Same thing applies to “smart” guns.
if you don't want the goverment to control your property, privacy and rights you're a backwards redneck and a nazi now
If you morons think that something that doesn't have a fricking antenna or the ICs required to receive remote signals can somehow be remotely disabled, you are casualties of the school system.

I do not believe for a second these guns don't have a bluetooth kill switch. Just like I do not believe for a second that every currently made car doesn't have a government backdoor killswitch
A kill-switch would be extremely easy to implement, hard to notice unless you were specifically looking for it and hard if not impossible to remove without straight-up ripping out all the electronics
you're a whistleblower on sketchy, secret goverment operations and a "random methhead" pulls a gun on you, while you're walking down the streets and suddenly your electronic safety "malfunctions"
look how many people who went after goverment or big money ended up "killing themselves" like
Damn bro, Epstein and McAfee really DID kill themselves.
>you're a whistleblower on sketchy, secret goverment operations and a "random methhead" pulls a gun on you, while you're walking down the streets and suddenly your electronic safety "malfunctions"
do you wish that was you? tragically dying for a worthy cause? cause if the government wanted you dead they're just gonna rig your car to lose control and crash.
your "point" was that you think the government even needs the ability to turn off your gun to assassinate you. anyone whos that deep in the shit probably has an illegal firearm anyway that couldn't be turned off.
you just want to be oppressed because that means you were right.

It’s insane to me how little boomers know about how anything electronic works. This is like worrying the government could shut down your iPod shuffle so you only buy Walkman
We are 10 years post Snowden, if you don't assume there are multiple government backdoors and killswitches in every electronic device that is connected to the internet, you are the boomer
That's what I've been telling these chimps and they don't grasp that.
The fricking irony in worrying about the gubmint stifling their ability to use firearms while posting on a surface website on a mass-produced computing device with internet access and GPS receivers is lost on them. Hell the glowies outright threatening gungrabbers is more dangerous to their guns than a smartlock on the market.
Yep. You can tell 90% of the people replying didn’t watch the video at all either. It’s an interesting gun whose biometrics seem both safe and reliable, and which is not designed to replace other guns. They want to make a bedside table gun, and hopefully expand into corrections officers.
CA's gun roster required shit like microstamping and biometric "smart locks" to be eligible for the list and once the tech becomes "readily available" all non-complyimg firearms would he bumped. Only recently was any of that even been challeneged and with SCOTUS being so limp dicked about enforcing their rulings I do not trust the bruen decision to be sufficient deterrence from any state looking to follow in CA's footsteps.
>This is like worrying the government could shut down your iPod shuffle so you only buy Walkman
Unironically yes, until new technology proven reliable. Oh, iToddler. Apple is arguably one of the most anti-consumer companies in the world.
>t. completely clueless about electronics
Literally just remove the antennae. The only way your schizo fantasy could remotely work is by requiring an active reception of a "go" signal, which is even more ridiculous to attempt, and can be undone with a small transmitter/repeater on your person.
How do you even think that would work? Gubmint able to magically point something at your gun to make it not work? Lmao antennae's desoldered, sorry. Magically immediately ID you, call it in, call the local telecoms agent responsible, and then send a disable signal in a span of time significantly greater than was required to dump a solid handful of mags?
You aren't thinking at all, you're making up imaginary shit so far outside the realm of practicality in willful ignorance to be afraid of.
>Literally just remove the antennae.
Remove the antennae or even better, those get disabled due to faulty part, smart gun becomes disabled until being fixed authoritarian cervix center. We live in a world where when government or corporation does bad a thing, one is positively surprised it was caused by incompetence instead of usual bad intent. If said entities do something good, it is more often caused by incompetence than willful action.
Because then nothing is stopping an unauthorized person from actually firing the gun once it's out. If a home invader manages to snatch your gun away, holster biometrics won't be able to keep your body lead-free. Plus the gun looks cooler with the biometrics in it.
when I was a kid, smart guns were the ones that aimed on their own
now they are cuck shit that gives goverment that hates you a kill switch for your right to defend yourself
because the goal is not to prevent someone from disarming you and using your gun
the point is to be able to disable your gun, so you cannot defend yourself when important people decide you should be killed
But that IS the point of it. This isn't aimed at governments trying to take the white man's means of defense away; this is aimed at people who want a safe gun that doesn't need a safe.
Except the holster would accomplish 99% of the purpose of a biolock which is unauthorized people getting access to the gun when its not on you. Getting the gun wrestled away from you is such a specific niche case that rarely happens.
If you watch the video, they explain that the gun isn't designed for carry. The whole purpose is to be a nightstand gun that you can leave in your home and not worry about your kids shooting themselves.
Plus they acknowledge that there's a fraction of a second that it takes for the biometrics to recognize and unlock. If that's in your holster, that's time you spend unable to draw the weapon. If it's in the gun, that unlocking process can take place while you're bringing the gun on target. The thing even locks if someone wrestles the gun out of your hand. Hell, you can technically use it in the wrong hand (there are left- and right-handed versions) because of the facial recognition camera on the back of the gun.
Switching to a biometric holster fails to address any of this. They selected a particular niche, and they designed a gun that met the intended use case. Your solution doesn't do that.

>But that IS the point of it. This isn't aimed at governments trying to take the white man's means of defense away; this is aimed at people who want a safe gun that doesn't need a safe.
it literally is, NJ will reinstate the smart gun law
they do, though those products are usually shitty and easy to circumvent. The goal with the smart gun and smart car shit is to do the metal gear solid shit and disable all of them
Pretty much any lock is just there to delay theft. Any lock on a man portable object is just there to delay casual opportunistic theft. The best locks in the world have crack times measured in hours, and anything you can buy on the commercial market has crack times closer to "hour", if not minutes or even seconds.
I actively want smartguns, though I don't think this particular implementation is what I'd be after. Face/fingerprint and most biometrics in general aren't reliable enough at all for something that doesn't really have fallback as an option. But linking to a watch or an RFID ring (or even implant someday) with interrupted connection monitoring could work fine if done correctly. More importantly I want a standard rail or connection system where the gun itself can supply power vs a bunch of rando batteries, and I look forward to fusion scopes.
Also if my gun was stolen and it was possible to track it and remote disable it that'd be valuable, though it'd again take a good implementation and full electronic firing to actually be effective. Doubt we see anything like that in the near future.
>linking to a watch or an RFID ring (or even implant someday) with interrupted connection monitoring could work fine if done correctly
And every smartgun that tried that turned out shit and infinitely easier to hack around.
The watch or ring thing has always had problems when they tried to implement them. Some of the worst ones have had connection problems and somehow also simultaneously had a problem where the radius was so wide that someone taking your gun and then point blanking you is probably still in the activation zone, and it's always live if you're still struggling over it.
>connection problems
Can somewhat confirm, the iP1 watch seems to transmit in a tauroid shape which extends farther down the arm (about 18") but is much shorter to the sides (about 9"). This would make it so that if your watch hand was disabled and you had to fire the pistol with the other hand it wouldn't work.
>Meanwhile what very few posts are on their social media are 90% negative.
yeah its because gun owners are all schizos who assume smartgun = dystopia
Most of it is general cowboybugsno.jpg but there are some good concerns. They mainly revolve around the lack of a weapon light or light rail on a gun that could ONLY be used for static home defense, the supposed price, not being able to unlock it under stress, and the code not being open source.
This right here is why this will fail commercially. Anyone trying to make a "smart gun" doesn't understand that the people buying guns are all rightfully paranoid of any technology being integrated into their guns.
There's a tiny tiny market of neurotic homosexuals who don't want a loaded gun in the house yet have fantasies of a 300 lbs gorilla stomping into their rooms in the dead of the night and needing their gun ready in 0.3 seconds or they're dead. They want to have the cumbrownie and eat it too.
Obviously you can't create a successful product out of this minuscule market so the makers of this POS are hoping cuckguns *will* be made mandatory in at least some jurisdictions.
Hillary holes almost halved smitty sales when they were introduced, and the average S&W owner is the kind of coastal upper middle class homosexual who you would think is the market for this shit.
This right here is why this will fail commercially. Anyone trying to make a "smart gun" doesn't understand that the people buying guns are all rightfully paranoid of any technology being integrated into their guns.
it wont matter. the tech will progress because departments like police and security will want it. the tech will be improved regardless of your purchase or lack of purchase.
and then, conceal carry will be restricted to smart guns. of course, youll be able to still carry a gun, no rights being infringed, you dont have to sell it. you just cant carry it.
for starters. no one shot back when they took machineguns, so no ones gonna shoot back now.
Then why In-Q-Tel/DARPA/etc. hasn't been investing heavily into this shit? If Glow Inc. really wanted this shit then they would have it already. The tech is widely available and it's just a matter of implementation.
what makes you think its not? what makes you think this couldnt be the first push?

how does a shot dot lock the user out of the handgun unless they provide fingerprint/face scan? shotdot isn't a smart gun, a smart gun is a gun that locks the user out of firing unless they provide an electronic key

How would they disable it when the gun doesn't connect to anything wirelessly?
is it hard for the goverment to start requiring the manufacturers to include a backdoor that will prevent the gun from being activated if a correct magnetic frequency wave is emitted nearby?

>New Jersey is going to re-pass a law they just repealed in the middle of being sued 50 times over for their current gun laws in light of Bruen
Somethings tells me they won't.
they literally only repealed it because it was preventing smart guns from being made. They legit do not give a shit about being sued. The governor said he closed gun stores because he didn't want people buying guns and the AG said he wants to get guns out of private homes.
Hell, the guy who wrote our bruen response bill said he was doing it to ban legal gun owners from carrying and not criminals. They legit would ban guns in the state if they could, why the frick would they care when it isn't their money when they get sued?
Its literally only repealed because it prevented smart guns from being made. Once they are made they will repass it. I don't think you understand how anti gun the israelites in the NJ government are
So your assertion is New Jersey might be moronic in the future so a private company shouldn't be allowed to make what they want because a state they're not in might pass a law that will be immediately enjoined in federal court?

The corpodems with a boner for banning guns have proven that ideology matters to them over anything else. They will torpedo their careers in NJ and then move to another corpodem stronghold where theyll get support
In order to prove that the technology is safe and effective, the government should order all law enforcement to use biometric locked smart guns, including and especially the FBI, ATF and Secret Service
AFTER that's been done I will consider the technology
It better have a small integrated explosive charge to severely injure or kill any unauthorized users. Also voice commands, an underbarrel launcher, and a pair of sunglasses that function like the IVAS system to tell you where you're pointing without using the sighs. If we're gonna get this shit might as well go full Judge Dredd
In theory a gun that can only be operated by the intended user is amazing. but in practice, adding any kind of complexity to a gun is just adding shit that can go wrong in the worst possible moment. over the last 30 years we barely managed to make semi autos reliable enough to be valid option for a carry gun. adding a digital safety that only unlocks if the sensors work properly is not a gun i would bet my life on. temperature, moisture, dirt, any kind of face cover like sunglasses and the list goes on - gun no working. maybe if the tech evolves some more over the next 10 or 20 years, but right now this is not ready for use.
>new smart gun not even out yet >already on forgotten weapons

They're truly taking advantage of their venture capitalist investors, makes me wonder if it isn't a giant tax write off. They have tons of investors, I think I saw $17,000,000 capitol, and they're not even going to advertise? Sus

NTA but this sounds like the same gay arguments used by morons to call everything they don't like nazi by association.
I get nigs hate technology on a primordial level but more innovation in firearms isn't a bad thing.
You could "innovate" a firearm that had to be peed on before firing and it wouldn't be a good thing either. Not every device that you can attach to every object increases it's value.
>not wanting a gun that engages "fun mode" through blood splatter contact
Appealing to the extremes isn't convincing. Honestly you remind me of those satirical news clipping from the 1940s were teachers were complaining about pens and how "students will run out of ink" compared to pencil and chalk.

>Appealing to the extremes isn't convincing
It's not appealing to extremes, you're defending a dumb, unnecessary addition to a system that works, that doesn't improve the operation of the system and introduces more points of failure.
>you remind me of those satirical news clipping from the 1940s were teachers were complaining about pens and how "students will run out of ink" compared to pencil and chalk.
What you're suggesting would be like demanding everyone wear a helmet while they wrote with chalk, and when questioned you'd scoff "what, you're too primitive for helmets?"

What else is comparing biometric locks to your piss fetish but an appeal to the extremes?
Gun features don't need to be "necessary", no more than screaming about the texture of your grip or the options of your sights.
This sounds like the same talking points fudds use to justify carrying a 6 shot revolver over any semi-auto handgun. Muh reliablity and simplicity
That's a very moronic comparison and makes no sense.

you have to actually be bait, there is no possible way you're this moronic. I will give you no more (you)'s than this one homosexual.
The electronic ID system on guns is SO INSANELY moronic it shouldn't even be considered after 3 seconds of thought. Guns are machines designed to eject a piece of relatively small metal extremely fast to destroy a target, they already have dozens of possible issues with them no matter what kind of gun you're using or how old they are. Most times you need a gun are the times you need it to work right then that very split second that you pull the trigger, it may very well be life or death and you not only want to add another possible point of failure but one that can easily be used against you, the government already puts bullshit to spy on and hack your electronics and it is illegal for manufacturers and developers to not help them do it (it is even illegal for them to tell you it is even happening) it is not a stretch to think that they could install methods by which to remotely shut off your firearm. Not even considering the idea of a company abusing it themselves or having wifi capabilities and malicious person fricking you over. This alone is enough reason to never consider buying one but theres more. On top of all of that biometric scanners (such as fingerprint readers) are NOTORIOUSLY shitty, if you hand is a little wet, you have a cut/scab, or you put your hand/finger on it slightly wrong then it gives you a "negative, try again" notification on your device, now imagine getting that little popup when you're in a split seconds count life or death situation. It isn't a difficult situation to imagine unless you're so moronic that you're better off committing suicide.
Though you own 0 guns and never will either so it matter not to you whether they make this garbage at all

This isn't a useful innovation though, it's just needless complexity that could be worked around through basic safety knowledge or just beating it deep in your kid's head that they are not allowed in your bedroom. It's like saying Windows 10 is an innovation over 7, yes technically but practically a downgrade
>Percussion caps aren't a useful innovation, its just needless complexity that could be worked out through faster loading of a flintlock or just having more bodies to throw at the enemy.
Another reliable method to keep your guns ready, quick to use, and free from your kid's shithead friends/your local jogger isn't a downgrade, its simply another option. The free market competing is what leads to innovation, how do you think we got anything like Kevlar?
Should we replace all handguns with shitty revolvers because its simpler and less complicated?

percussion caps increased reliability over flintlocks, that is why they were adopted. Smart gun tech makes the gun a paperweight that won't function a majority of the time. Why would I want an expensive gun that doesn't ever work?

You can't say that, percussion caps require expensive and complicated infrastructure to make the caps. Flintlocks are clearly superior by the simplicity of their mechanism, local production, and the individual's independence from the cap producers.
That's all I'm hearing with this hysteria.

caplock tech is inherently more reliable than flint lock tech and the government didn't ban flint locks when caplocks became available like they will ban normal guns. You are comparing something that made guns function more reliably to something that doesn't work most of the time and will make a gun a paperweight

It's a hell of a lot easier to use a cartridge gun compared to cap and ball you incredulous Black person. The switch to cartridges didn't come with the risk of the gun being rendered inoperable because you held it wrong or your hands were dirty. Furthermore the adoption of cartridge technology didn't come with the caveat that it would mean cap and ball would be banned >b-but NJ overturned the law
And what says they won't reinstate it? Or that other states won't put a similar law on the books? You're incredibly naive to believe such technology cannot be abused legally and will work 100% of the time

Why would anyone use cartridges? They're so complicated and unreliable, you have to BUY them from some guy who works with the government. A muzzleloader has centuries of proven reliability, simplicity, and ease of use. Moment a smart gun that can be remotely disabled by law enforcement hits the market, ones that can't be will be banned. We might even include evil corporations in this as world is becoming increasingly cyberpunk.

Fingerprint sensors don't work for shit when your fingers are wet or dirty.

Most of it is general cowboybugsno.jpg but there are some good concerns. They mainly revolve around the lack of a weapon light or light rail on a gun that could ONLY be used for static home defense, the supposed price, not being able to unlock it under stress, and the code not being open source.

I really like the concept of guns showing how many bullets they have left digitally, kind of like that one AR in halo, is there a gun that does something similar in real life?
Here's a THOUGHT, keep your nighttime home defense gun locked up during the day, wear your CC. Put your home defense gun in the nightstand only at yknow, NIGHT. This takes less than 10 seconds before going to bed and waking up in the morning.
I keep waiting for some based moron to take the open source aimbot shit already on GitHub and fabricobble a real sentry gun. I've seen it done with airsoft already. Is there a belt fed .22lr?

Remember this whenever a leftist gay makes fun of something, they think everything they don't like should be illegal.
My memory is fuzzy, aren't there supposed to be laws that are written to mandate electronic locks on guns, but only come into effect once such devices are commercially available?
there was a New Jersey law from 2002-2019. IDK if any other state has one. NJ currently has a law that says if one becomes available stores have to advertise it for free and have one copy in the store for sale
>it's okay bros, israelite Jersey repelled their gay law, cuckguns are based now 😉

1. Not your problem. 2. Don't live with Black folk.
Worst of all, even if redguards can't the gun to work (believe me they will) it doesn't solve the problem of the ammo being repurposed in a ghettoblaster.
If it's totally offline there's no problem at all, and people should welcome it (assuming the company actively fights attempts to mandate it)
If it's online it's potentially accessible by hackers, criminals and the government, frick that.
But either way the tech is dope.
Fine I looked it up, here's a good article about the gun
https://archive.vn/lUtl6 >There’s no GPS location tracking chip in the gun, and it’s up to the owner to decide whether to connect the computing device to the internet for updates >To prevent hacking or spying, the gun itself has no wireless or internet communications systems >price is $1500, maybe more after preorders >In 2019 [New Jersey] repealed the law and put a new system in place that will require gun stores to offer at least one smart gun as an option when a decent product arrives.
Okay, so Ian was lying when he said there wasn't a law about this. Not a good look. And now the important part: >Instead of seeking smart gun mandates, for example, Biofire has lobbied against them, hoping to avoid becoming public enemy No.1 among NRA types. Kloepfer has turned into an avid shooter and owns many guns, in part so he can speak with deep knowledge to experts. Leading up to the introduction of the Biofire Smart Gun, he’s been courting online gun influencers and is looking forward to the moment when hackers begin tearing the weapon apart to try to find flaws.
Sounds based, can't wait to see where this goes. Their gun isn't really good or practical yet, but it doesn't need to be to sell to rich kids who want to stand out.
>israeli CEO >not a natural-born gun nut >stands to gain the most from mandatory cuckgun legislation >vague promises instead of something concrete like "20% of our profits will go to Gun Owners of America" >israeli CEO

That is why these morons make these shitty guns that no one wants
Its literally all for gun control
They want a "Safe" option to exist so they can ban the "unsafe" guns

Id assume it uses a thumbprint or electronic key on your dominant hand. Still less moronic than a smart gun because you can always seperate it from the gun permanently
>oh shit time for gun
>*BEEP* FINGERPRINT NOT RECOGNISED
>come on come on
>*BEEP* FINGERPRINT NOT RECOGNISED
>god frickin damnit
>*BEEP BEEP* PARTIAL MATCH, CLEAN SENSOR AND RETRY
>frickfrickfrickfrick
>*BEEEEP* THANK YOU FOR CHOOSING SMARTGUN, PLEASE UPDATE FIRMWARE TO CONTINUE
Whats worse is it isnt just a beep its a shity little up chime, an attempt to make it less obnoxious and give it a bit of sound personality but it would be the most awful 4-6 key tone every time your pistol failed to unholster.
anyone who has had to regular use a fingerprint scanner knows this is the truth
>drink verification can to continue
when I was a kid, smart guns were the ones that aimed on their own
now they are cuck shit that gives goverment that hates you a kill switch for your right to defend yourself
because the goal is not to prevent someone from disarming you and using your gun
the point is to be able to disable your gun, so you cannot defend yourself when important people decide you should be killed
Surely my colt smartlock (tm) sold by cerebrus (tm) managed by alexa (tm) by amazon (tm) will never get preemptively cut off for wrongthink, all those entities have my best interests at heart
Bing bing bing
Fund management by BlackRock and Bloomturd. Luckily the people who want to remote vax, police your thoughts and control your money would never link it to their leftist control matrix.
What a fricking moron luddite.
>sense it's possible to use this thing a bad way therefore any use is bad
Literal gungrabber argument.
>smart guns were the ones that aimed on their own
That's also still a thing.
>luddite
how is it helpful in any way?
>my kids won't grab the gun
be an actual father to them and teach them not to shoot at each other
>someone won't disarm me
don't be a moron who can't keep his gun safe
this isn't "people destroying machines, so that they can go back to sewing one shoe in 8 hours", this is pawing the road for goverment being able to disable your gun, with absolutely no measurable gain for your side, unless you're a mouthbreathing moron who will still be able to accidentaly hurt innocents/himself or lose the firearm with all the security measures in the world
go back to plebbit
Listen here. Someone is going to jailbreak this thing and then you can have your own uncontrolled by the goverment smart gun. How does that sound?
>t. Engineer
that will be a felony in neo-america
It already is. But just like with iphones, androids and so on is so rampant it is unregulated. Like during the prohibition you can get booze.
Stop thinking that feds are magical. They have the attention span of a toddler.
or, I could just get a normal fricking gun that works
>wahhhhhhh new bad
Black person, the government just spent hours interrogating Tiktok because they think it can control your fricking wifi.
They're not going to magically deactivate your bullets, so to speak.
>They're not going to magically deactivate your bullets, so to speak.
Correct, because they'll never get the chance to, moron.
>missing the point this hard
morons are the ones possessing the same level of understanding technology as 80yo legislators.
>Durr the government said some bullshit about tik Tok that means they'd never try to use technology to restrict your access to firearms
Post your gun real quick
>be an actual father to them and teach them not to shoot at each other
Children are stupid, especially very young children who will grab anything they can reach, it's why cleaning liquids have child locks. What if the child is also special needs, or if they are some edgy teenager who might invite his moronic friends over. In theory this gun allows you to have easy access to it in an emergency while keeping it safe from misuse. No way to know how well it works in practice yet but there are benefits to it over a regular gun in a safe.
>What if the child is also special needs
abortion
So, what, being locked out of your gun because the bio fricked up is a good thing now? You know damn well the powers that be will take advantage of this if it catches on you fricking mouthbreather. Remember what John Deere did to their stolen tractors during the war? Granted I agree with what they did, but imagine what they could do (and are already doing) to domestic tractors? Same thing applies to “smart” guns.
if you don't want the goverment to control your property, privacy and rights you're a backwards redneck and a nazi now
If you morons think that something that doesn't have a fricking antenna or the ICs required to receive remote signals can somehow be remotely disabled, you are casualties of the school system.
>when I was a kid, smart guns were the ones that aimed on their own
yeah i want that cyberpunk kind of gun. bullet counter, aim assist, switch ammo type, charged shot???? how you ask? i don't know just make it work nerd
How would they disable it when the gun doesn't connect to anything wirelessly?
>thing can’t change because it this way right now
I do not believe for a second these guns don't have a bluetooth kill switch. Just like I do not believe for a second that every currently made car doesn't have a government backdoor killswitch
>using Bluetooth for any important application
This is how I know you don't know shit about electronics.
A kill-switch would be extremely easy to implement, hard to notice unless you were specifically looking for it and hard if not impossible to remove without straight-up ripping out all the electronics
>so you cannot defend yourself when important people decide you should be killed
name ONE scenario where this would happen
Damn bro, Epstein and McAfee really DID kill themselves.
you're a whistleblower on sketchy, secret goverment operations and a "random methhead" pulls a gun on you, while you're walking down the streets and suddenly your electronic safety "malfunctions"
look how many people who went after goverment or big money ended up "killing themselves" like
said
>you're a whistleblower on sketchy, secret goverment operations and a "random methhead" pulls a gun on you, while you're walking down the streets and suddenly your electronic safety "malfunctions"
do you wish that was you? tragically dying for a worthy cause? cause if the government wanted you dead they're just gonna rig your car to lose control and crash.
>anon purposefully misses the point; the post
your "point" was that you think the government even needs the ability to turn off your gun to assassinate you. anyone whos that deep in the shit probably has an illegal firearm anyway that couldn't be turned off.
you just want to be oppressed because that means you were right.
So giving the gov more options to frick us over is fine then? Look, they *could* kill us in any variation of ways, but wouldn’t you at fricking least want a chance to defend yourself? Don’t give them an inch, or the ATF bans short barreled rifles.
>So giving the gov more options to frick us over is fine then?
all were talking about is smartguns. not legislation.
Is that what the ATF thought when they went after the honey badger? Nothing is preventing them as of now from passing some stupid regulatory bullshit that requires smart guns from being connected to something 24/7. I’m looking at the bigger picture, as cool as a smart gun is in concept, reality and its consequences think differently, and that’s an unfortunate truth.
>I’m looking at the bigger picture
inventing headcanon on all the ways the government could be tyrannical is not 'looking at the bigger picture'. its called having a persecution complex.
>being skeptical of the government due to their frickery is now a persecution complex
Please look up ruby ridge, bundy and waco. You clearly haven’t kept up in the last 50 or so years
They constantly do this though you fricking moron. The ATF is constantly regulating shit and even the idea of having micro serial numbers on cases and primers has been thrown around. Its not a persecution complex when we have more than enough proof to conclude they would pull shit like this. It would be really useful if we could see your early life section.
the government is tyrannical, what the frick is the could be part?
poster glows so bright

all the bait we shall bite
and? oppose it all you cuckold
>just comply bro
>just let evil people ruin everyone's life bro, so that you can continue your miserable existence just for a day longer bro

hundreds of generations of men working their arms to the bone just so that you can thrive and live in a beautiful world, and you're going to piss that away because you're scared?
You wanted an example - I gave you one, if you don't want your freedom then you don't belong on /k/.
Why are you so hellbent on defending and downplaying the shit the US government done and continues to do? Personally belittling people who are rightfully worried about corporations and the government controlling our right to defend ourselves? The argument of
>they'll just murder you anyway bro
Just confirms why people are justifiably against this.
My car is a shitbox from 1999 with no drive-by-wire bullshit in it.

A woman saw you and felt uncomfortable and called the police.

Pity (you) for a valiant attempt and unchecked trips.
It’s insane to me how little boomers know about how anything electronic works. This is like worrying the government could shut down your iPod shuffle so you only buy Walkman
putting RF chip that shuts down the electronics inside a device is the simplest thing to do, you tech illiterate baboon
We are 10 years post Snowden, if you don't assume there are multiple government backdoors and killswitches in every electronic device that is connected to the internet, you are the boomer
I do!
The gun isn’t connected to the internet 🙂 it’s only connection to anything is a USB which can be connected to its stand
There are ways to implement a kill-switch that don't require an internet connection you hopelessly tech illiterate catamite.
>he typed out on his location-tracking, IP-connected, electronic device with no hint of irony
Ok boomer
/thread
titanfall guns are smart, OP gun is moronic complexity for the sake of complexity
Because then nothing is stopping an unauthorized person from actually firing the gun once it's out. If a home invader manages to snatch your gun away, holster biometrics won't be able to keep your body lead-free. Plus the gun looks cooler with the biometrics in it.
Your solution doesn't do that.
https://twitter.com/2Aupdates/status/1646598701366890502
They are advertising just leaving the gun out in front of your kids and all the anti gun groups are agreeing with them, that should tell you what you need to know about this piece of shit
And what is that?
dems are pushing it for a handgun ban so they can ban everything but smartguns and then they will kill switch them all the time
This one can't be disabled, it doesn't have any form of internet, wireless or satellite connection. Only stupid libtards who don't read EULAs would buy one that could be.
>This one can't be disabled, it doesn't have any form of internet, wireless or satellite connection.
I don't believe this
Sounds like a brainpower issue. They explicitly state so in their media, Ian explicitly states so in his video, and the base station has no connection beyond two USB Cs and a power cord. The gun doesn't even have a wireless connection to the base station like the Armatix does, it has to be plugged in for administration. Are you calling them all liars? Where is your evidence that they are all wrong?
I'm calling them liars and my evidence is anti gun groups and democrats endorse them and you are shilling hard for them
Okay you're just moronposting then. Make like a tree and get the frick off the website you have to be 18 to post here.
keep seething there you israelite paid shill. no one is going to buy your kill switch piece of shit
when these come out somebody's going to tear a few apart and they're GOING to get analyzed and your FUD is going to be either debunked or born out and until that happens just shut the frick up
how much are the israelites paying you to shill?
Plus Ian said it requires power for the trigger to run, just emp the area
EMP isn't that easy actually but yeah it's stupid
how much are you getting payed to slander it?
why would anyone be getting paid to correctly point out smart guns are shit?
why would anybody pay somebody to point out that we should wait and see just how shit it really is?
screaming unfounded doom and gloom from the rooftops won't get you anywhere
because no gun owner wants to pay $1,499 plus tip for a paper weight that doesn't work and it is telling that anti gun groups are endorsing this product
yeah but we might convince a few fence-sitters who are scared of guns that they're fun
yeah but shitting up threads won't stop them
>ummmm listen here sweaty, how do you know the new cocaine-flavored shreddies are bad for children? the thing hasn't come out yet for goddess' sake!
I just know.
Let's say this one is airgapped tighter than a nun's c**t. Cool. Doesn't matter though since grabbers will mandate they ought to be connected 24/7.
>They explicitly state so in their media
Oh they said they weren't lying? Thank God that settles everything.
I’m sure the people who want a technocracy over all mankind won’t abuse the technology. Just like the smart cities to shut you in.
>The whole purpose is to be a nightstand gun
*hears noise inside house
*intruder enters bedroom
*grab my last line of defense in my nightstand
"Uuuuhhhh time out... you gotta wait until this damn lock disengages so I can shoot you.... hold still....."
It's either/or, either the fingerprint or the face recognition. The facial recognition was somewhat quick too.
>Because you're such a tier 1 operator that it's less than half a second between you grabbing the gun and squeezing the trigger.
Listen here, mister Bond. This gun isn't for you.
just use a shotgun and a retention sling if you are concerned with someone pulling your gun off you
>But that IS the point of it.
Someone wants to be able to disarm you without your knowledge.
>~~*implant*~~
Most of it is general cowboybugsno.jpg but there are some good concerns. They mainly revolve around the lack of a weapon light or light rail on a gun that could ONLY be used for static home defense, the supposed price, not being able to unlock it under stress, and the code not being open source.
Wow very cool. Amazing to see how far technology has come in such a short amount of time.
I will never buy one.
This right here is why this will fail commercially. Anyone trying to make a "smart gun" doesn't understand that the people buying guns are all rightfully paranoid of any technology being integrated into their guns.
It's the very definition of needlessly overcomplicating something that, by demand and design, needs to remain very simple.
Hillary holes almost halved smitty sales when they were introduced, and the average S&W owner is the kind of coastal upper middle class homosexual who you would think is the market for this shit.
it wont matter. the tech will progress because departments like police and security will want it. the tech will be improved regardless of your purchase or lack of purchase.
and then, conceal carry will be restricted to smart guns. of course, youll be able to still carry a gun, no rights being infringed, you dont have to sell it. you just cant carry it.
for starters. no one shot back when they took machineguns, so no ones gonna shoot back now.
Then why In-Q-Tel/DARPA/etc. hasn't been investing heavily into this shit? If Glow Inc. really wanted this shit then they would have it already. The tech is widely available and it's just a matter of implementation.
what makes you think its not? what makes you think this couldnt be the first push?
lets just do the bare minimum here. biofire? huh. company got global interest, news articles about "first smartgun" up the fricking wazoo. but no wikipedia page. hell, its not even called biofire. the websites smartgun.com, it just says biofire at the top.
and its got a purchase link, nice, you can purchase the gun. and thats it. theres no about, who, our history, any other guns, not even a contact us. this entire website is one page. there are two links on this entire page. buy. and the privacy policy.
smartgun, calling itself biofire, the prior trademark and business being around since 1990. what else have they made? whats kept them in business for the past...33 years?
weird.
really makes you think, doesn't it?
actually im wrong. biofire was founded by some 19 year old kid. its his first business and product, and in the 5 years hes been working on it, people have given him 14 million dollars.
>18-y-o with big ideas but an even big heart gets millions of angel funding to frick around with guns
tale as old as time
nothing to see here, chaps
carry on
>the tech will progress because departments like police and security will want it.
every police union in the country has said they will go on strike if they are mandated to carry smart guns
really? what about utahs police union, and ogden. theyve been talking about adopting shotdots, which they plan to adopt in...oh, they already did, 9 days ago.
i reached out to their union, but i didnt get a reply
how does a shot dot lock the user out of the handgun unless they provide fingerprint/face scan? shotdot isn't a smart gun, a smart gun is a gun that locks the user out of firing unless they provide an electronic key

>Hobo becomes the largest mass shooters in American history as cops attempt to rush him
By that point your cops will be entirely staffed by DIE (diversity inclusion and equality) hires and will be entirely foreigners or 4'11" girlies who have no biz being on the streets, and they'll instinctively frick off

is it hard for the goverment to start requiring the manufacturers to include a backdoor that will prevent the gun from being activated if a correct magnetic frequency wave is emitted nearby?
also they might just start making ones that are connected to the internet, or even have a hidden wireless antenna just for that purpose
if the government said it was coming for your schizophrenia pills would you actually take them?
this thing looks great. I think of it like self driving cars, there's a whole lot of people who aren't responsible enough to drive a car who still need to get to their job. There are a whole lot of fricknuggets who are too stupid to keep their guns away from their kids who still need protection in the home.

Listen you worthless moolinyan, if you don't spend time studying different cultures to be more racist you're a brainless n'wah worthy only of disdain. Constantly spamming Black person only proves how much of an uncreative, utterly banal Mississippi windchime you are
Black person you don't have to explore other cultures, you can still hate nogs and foreigners even if you have. I'm living proof that hating nogs can happen even if you've been to most countries in the world.
>I think of it like self driving cars
Thanks, I hate it
Also, very relevant trips
>I hate the Antichrist
People not responsible enough to own firearms need to be removed from your society completely, not encouraged.
Ian is such a homosexual endorsing this. NJ is going to bring the law back if this goes on the market
Ian is the definition of the insufferable "Hey liberals own guns too you know, now as a gun owner..." moron
They legit would ban guns in the state if they could, why the frick would they care when it isn't their money when they get sued?
>the law prevented smart guns from being made so they repealed it
Okay? So it's repealed.
Its literally only repealed because it prevented smart guns from being made. Once they are made they will repass it. I don't think you understand how anti gun the israelites in the NJ government are
So your assertion is New Jersey might be moronic in the future so a private company shouldn't be allowed to make what they want because a state they're not in might pass a law that will be immediately enjoined in federal court?
a. it won't be immediately enjoined
b. yes
literally the only reason handguns aren't banned in NJ is because boomers used to call gun stores and tell them if they were to stock a smart gun they will get firebombed
https://www.npr.org/2014/05/04/309462674/under-fire-maryland-dealer-drops-plans-to-sell-smart-gun
I watched the shill ad video Ian did. Do you always believe ads?
probably in the spring knowing my legislators
Did any of these "boomers" go to jail?
no clue, but it was reported see
https://www.npr.org/2014/05/04/309462674/under-fire-maryland-dealer-drops-plans-to-sell-smart-gun
Okay so the gun has been made. When does NJ repass the law they just repealed?
when it becomes commercially viable, same thing for the IP-1 but since that rightfully crashed and burned the law didn't take effect then
NJ boomers would email and call gun stores that said they would stock ip-1's and tell them they were going to bomb the gun store and shoot the owners
And? If they're that anti-gun, then there's no amount of innovation, or lack thereof, which will prevent them from trying to ban it. We could be down to muskets and they'll still try to ban that shit, so why bother trying to appease them.
Stop living in fear.
how am I trying to appease them? Literally any state with a "microstamping" requirement is basically just doing a defacto handgun ban. That is the point of the smartgun law from 2002-2019
he is clearly getting paid to shill it with his >look how well it works, and the fact he is shilling it on the same day news articles are coming out about it, despite the product not being released.
Whether he is happy or not isn't relevant, he is clearly taking money to do an ad on it and "show how great it works"
yeah, he does a lot of product placement
he doesn't have the "no gods no masters" hatred for corpo garbage that Karl does, which is an admirable part of his idiocy
karl is probably going to shill this gun too
>karl is probably going to shill this gun too
he's an actual IT Security guy so he's going to want to hack it with his fat gay creepy friend
The corpodems with a boner for banning guns have proven that ideology matters to them over anything else. They will torpedo their careers in NJ and then move to another corpodem stronghold where theyll get support
trying to ban handguns in NJ won't even torpedo their careers. Murphy said he wants to reduce the number of gun owners in NJ and no democrat cares
Ian isn't endorsing it, he's just documenting it
I don't think he likes it, you can see it on his face
Look what they need to mimic a fraction of our power.
>imagine getting killed because you were wearing a mask and a glove
It's a home defense gun, why would you be wearing gloves and a mask in your own home??
The primary purpose of guns isn't home defense, it's home offense.
covid
In order to prove that the technology is safe and effective, the government should order all law enforcement to use biometric locked smart guns, including and especially the FBI, ATF and Secret Service
AFTER that's been done I will consider the technology
System like in Watchmen for every cruiser
It better have a small integrated explosive charge to severely injure or kill any unauthorized users. Also voice commands, an underbarrel launcher, and a pair of sunglasses that function like the IVAS system to tell you where you're pointing without using the sighs. If we're gonna get this shit might as well go full Judge Dredd
In theory a gun that can only be operated by the intended user is amazing. but in practice, adding any kind of complexity to a gun is just adding shit that can go wrong in the worst possible moment. over the last 30 years we barely managed to make semi autos reliable enough to be valid option for a carry gun. adding a digital safety that only unlocks if the sensors work properly is not a gun i would bet my life on. temperature, moisture, dirt, any kind of face cover like sunglasses and the list goes on - gun no working. maybe if the tech evolves some more over the next 10 or 20 years, but right now this is not ready for use.
thats not a smartgun its just a gun with a biometric lock
>¡Battery low! Please connect to power source!
>oops forgot to charge my gun last night
>get robbed and shot by D’Quarius
No thanks.
>new smart gun not even out yet
>already on forgotten weapons
Sounds about right lol
Looking through Biofire's website and social media, their investors are going to get creamed. Biofire says they won't focus on advertising or promotion, they're just going to sit back and hope it does great. Meanwhile what very few posts are on their social media are 90% negative. They're truly taking advantage of their venture capitalist investors, makes me wonder if it isn't a giant tax write off. They have tons of investors, I think I saw $17,000,000 capitol, and they're not even going to advertise? Sus
>Meanwhile what very few posts are on their social media are 90% negative.
yeah its because gun owners are all schizos who assume smartgun = dystopia
>just because the Brady Campaign and former President Obama and the states of California and New Jersey desperately shilled for smartguns doesn't mean they're bad for gun owners, stop being paranoid
Though you own 0 guns and never will either so it matter not to you whether they make this garbage at all
pens don't reduce the reliability of a gun and don't let the government turn off your gun. I am against dive by wire and smart car bullshit too
There's no change in reliability anymore than a gun safe is, hell its faster and more accessible to you.
Until the government can figure out that zoomer apps can't hack your wifi I'm not buying the idea that they'll disable it. Also jail-breaking certainly exists.
>There's no change in reliability
>Scans never fail ever ever because... Because they JUST CANT, OKAY?!?!
I do not believe for a fricking second this thing is remotely reliable
The gun literally fails to feed 2-3 times over the course of 20 rounds. That's not exactly looking good on the reliability front.
yeah it looks like the gun itself might be a huge piece of shit. this is common with smart locks and other smart products where they put all the effort into the tech side and the mechanics are an afterthought. i might consider getting it for the meme if it were in the $500 range but according to the website it will start at $1500 and i'm not going to pay nice 1911 money for an electric hi-point.
You are a schizo. There are 300-something million people in the US; even with all your eccentricities, you're unlikely to be on the feds' shit list, and you're unlikely to EVER be on the feds' shit list. You're not special, the feds don't even know who you are outside of Social Security and the IRS.
cool, and what happens the during the next coof or the next blm riots when they geofence cars to "Stop the spread" or to "reduce climate change" and turn off guns to "protect the peaceful protesters"?
I am not worried about them doing it to me specifically, I am worried about them doing it to an entire area like john deere did to the tractors in ukraine using the GPS
>geofencing cars and john deer
You can still jailbreak those john deer dude, and those were geofenced because the company had specifically put in a shitload of “protections” so they could reposes their tractors at any give time because they’re gays.
>shut off guns
Why are boomers so moronic? Do they genuinely imagine a big button in the Whitehouse that says “turn off guns” and magic waves just deactivate every gun with electricity in it? This specific gun has no way of communicating with the outside world besides it’s
>fingerprint sensors
>IR camera
>laser grip detectors
>usb port
Its almost like innovative products are always expensive and need time to work out the bugs; shit you should read what they were saying about the first automobiles or bicycles. Bikes were almost dismissed because they were "too fast" and made women's skirts hitch up.
>That's all I'm hearing with this hysteria.
Yes we know you're incapable of reading.
Nigs terrified by the suggestion of more competition in the gun accessory market are both too poor and stupid to be tossing out jabs like that.
Cap and ball
>Fire more reliably
>Reload faster
>Makes high capacity design easier
All around increase in lethality.
Smartlock
>No increase in firepower by any metric
>Additional point of failure subject to reliability problems
>More expensive
The purpose of a gun is to kill, what does the electronic lock do to make the gun more lethal?
>missing my point entirely
>not realizing the same shit has been said about every single innovation in history
Gun slings don't make guns more lethal. Gun safes don't make guns more lethal. Nowhere have I said the locks improve lethality.
>Gun slings don't make guns more lethal.
gun slings do make guns more lethal because you can use them to aim and you can use them to carry the gun to a place which helps you be lethal
> Gun safes don't make guns more lethal.
I don't own a gun safe and do not plan on ever buying one
>Nowhere have I said the locks improve lethality.
A gun's purpose is to be lethal, as lethal as possible. If it's not helping me deploy lethal force, and it's attached to the gun, then it's worthless.
>You can't say that, percussion caps require expensive and complicated infrastructure to make the caps. Flintlocks are clearly superior by the simplicity of their mechanism, local production, and the individual's independence from the cap producers.
caplock tech is inherently more reliable than flint lock tech and the government didn't ban flint locks when caplocks became available like they will ban normal guns. You are comparing something that made guns function more reliably to something that doesn't work most of the time and will make a gun a paperweight
there is no market for a $4,000 piece of shit 9mm that doesn't work 90% of the time when you need it
>to something that doesn't work most of the time and will make a gun a paperweight
Post proof of this specific gun not working most of the time. Also buy some tampons, you’re PMSing
>post proof of this thing that isn't in public hands and we just saw one ad of doesn't work
how much are they paying you, shill? As much as they paid Ian?
>You can still jailbreak those john deer dude, and those were geofenced because the company had specifically put in a shitload of “protections” so they could reposes their tractors at any give time because they’re gays.
or, I can just buy a normal gun and normal car and not worry about that shit
>Why are boomers so moronic? Do they genuinely imagine a big button in the Whitehouse that says “turn off guns” and magic waves just deactivate every gun with electricity in it? This specific gun has no way of communicating with the outside world besides it’s
I don't believe for a second that it doesn't have an EM antenna
>Another reliable method to keep your guns ready, quick to use, and free from your kid's shithead friends/your local jogger isn't a downgrade
If your kid has shithead friends or you live around joggers (who don't even fear you, no less) that's your own fault and you get what you deserve.
If you're terrified of more options in the free market than I suggest moving to a commie country.
>Criticizing a poor product and poor perspective laws to mandate it's purchase is anti free trade
You homosexuals always confuse shitting on something with making it illegal.
>fear-mongering over an innovative technology =/= criticism
You Black folk always confuse something new with the end of your freedoms.
>No you cant make fun of a product that's LITERALLY CALLING FOR IT TO BE ILLEGAL ON PAIN OF DEATH REEEEE WHAT HAPPENED TO YOUR PRECIOUS CAPITALISM
High time you posted your gun, homosexual.
>government makes a mandated and bans normal guns
>free market
You think they can ban guns but only if biometrically locked guns exist? Are you moronic by chance?
>it makes it more likely that a court recognizes them
You think it makes it more likely that the Supreme Court does?
>You think they can ban guns but only if biometrically locked guns exist? Are you moronic by chance?
NJ literally had that law on the books for a decade that would ban the sale of all handguns other than smart guns if smart guns existed
>You think it makes it more likely that the Supreme Court does?
We don't know how long it would take to get to the SCOTUS or if they will have assassinated Alito and Thomas and paid off Roberts by then. They assassinated Scalia
It's a hell of a lot easier to use a cartridge gun compared to cap and ball you incredulous Black person. The switch to cartridges didn't come with the risk of the gun being rendered inoperable because you held it wrong or your hands were dirty. Furthermore the adoption of cartridge technology didn't come with the caveat that it would mean cap and ball would be banned
>b-but NJ overturned the law
And what says they won't reinstate it? Or that other states won't put a similar law on the books? You're incredibly naive to believe such technology cannot be abused legally and will work 100% of the time
Why would anyone use cartridges? They're so complicated and unreliable, you have to BUY them from some guy who works with the government. A muzzleloader has centuries of proven reliability, simplicity, and ease of use. The few seconds of faster firing and loading doesn't offset how expensive they are compared to a simple flintlock.
>an argument I never made
Until the government can figure out apps, I'm not buying your doomer hysteria.
cartridge guns didn't ban muzzle loaders
even pre metallic cartridges most people just bought paper cartridges
early centerfire cartridge guns usually still came with a bullet mold and other reloading supplies
it is when it reduces functionality and will be legally mandated
Black person its a biometric scan, its not going to take you 5 minutes.
Would you prefer the alternative of keeping your guns and mags unloaded, separately in different safes, while a home intruder's busting down your door? That's what would likely be the realistic legal mandate if the gungrabbers had their way.
>Black person its a biometric scan, its not going to take you 5 minutes.
>It's just a little pee, c'mon how long could it take
Not an argument, degenerate.
What? I never said that, I presented a realistic legal mandate you spergs keep screaming about.
If you can find where I suggested making it a legal mandate anywhere, maybe you'd have a point but you've outed yourself as another homosexual degenrate.
I never said that was bad, or not an option. Why are so many triggered by the suggestion that people can have alternatives?
You have one moron screaming about pissing so I'm not sure about that. Nice try glowie.
>I never said that, I presented a realistic legal mandate you spergs keep screaming about.
it isn't a realistic legal mandate because it is explicitly unconstitutional as per Heller. Literally the controversy of the case for heller was that DC required Dick Heller to store his handgun in a locked container separate from ammo in his home. Safe storage laws are literally and explicitly not constitutional
>Would you prefer the alternative of keeping your guns and mags unloaded, separately in different safes, while a home intruder's busting down your door? That's what would likely be the realistic legal mandate if the gungrabbers had their way.
Ah the classic
"If you're against sucking wiener you must be pro getting fricked in the ass" routine.
How about I do neither and you or anyone who tries to make me can go frick themselves.
Or, hear me out, keep the gun loaded and on your person at all times
Sounds like the recipe for a painful night.
bump
We're not toddlers, you can't just present a false dichotomy, shoot at gun grabbers
>Black person its a biometric scan, its not going to take you 5 minutes.
It literally will never work, biometric scanners are not reliable
>Would you prefer the alternative of keeping your guns and mags unloaded, separately in different safes, while a home intruder's busting down your door? That's what would likely be the realistic legal mandate if the gungrabbers had their way.
that shit is literally banned by heller, like word for word banned by heller
This isn't the 2010s anymore where the technology was in its infancy, biometric scanners are very reliable.
>banning things works now!
Really makes you think
>biometric scanners are very reliable
for something like a gun it needs to be as near 100% reliable as possible. can you say that's the case?
Between the two sensors? Yeah
you're delusional
You can see it in use and ironically the issues with it are mechanical. I’m not going to fricking buy it until I 1 see its mechanical innards 2 see it’s electronic systems and how both the hardware and software works 3 see it fired and used enough to be confident in it’s reliability. But it’s moronic to just say it definitely cannot work just because you’re too old to realize technology can improve. Everyone is still using landlines though, amiright
>You can see it in use
no, we can see a paid for and shilled edited ad
>it’s a shill
Lel. Like always. I just know you didn’t watch it.
>it definitely has an EM antenna
Would be moronicly easy for someone to uncover. So we’ll know after it goes on sale.
>This isn't the 2010s anymore where the technology was in its infancy, biometric scanners are very reliable.
my phone never fricking unlocks, especially if I just washed my hands
>Really makes you think
the government cannot pass or enforce laws that violate the constitution
>this sounds like the same gay arguments used by morons to call everything they don't like nazi by association.
Except their arguments don't ever hold water even by the simplest association, whereas ours do.
You are naive if you don't expect all smart gun laws being used by authoritarian politicians and their bureaucratic little helpers in law enforcement agencies to disarm the population. Moment a smart gun that can be remotely disabled by law enforcement hits the market, ones that can't be will be banned. We might even include evil corporations in this as world is becoming increasingly cyberpunk.
>t. completely clueless about electronics
Watch the ATF make it illegal to make your smart gun "dumb'. Then mandate the gun phone home in order insure compliance.
If it's anything like the last attempt at this shit, a magnet will unlock it faster than the actual designed method would
moronic, if your life depends on it
Fingerprint sensors don't work for shit when your fingers are wet or dirty. It has happened to me that after laying a pavement without gloves, I couldn't use a fingerprint to unlock my phone because my fingertips were sanded smoother than a baby's skin. If someone's a manual laborer by profession, then this may be a daily thing for them, a fingerprint-locked gun will be literally unusable for them
>fingerprint not recognized, you may try again in (30) seconds
how long till they make this shit mandatory on all firearms like they just did for interlock devices on new cars?
After passing biometric scan, it's just a regular gun...
As opposed to a dumb gun?
"Today's options are tomorrow's mandates" -Ted K
We need to shut that shit down ASAP.
>overengineered piece of shit
>more points of failure
what ever could go wrong
They will always fail and they will always suck. Nothing ever works. From the ones that use watch or wristbands and it doesnt help that theyre always in super reliable rimmed dirty ancienty rimlocky 22lr.
Genuine smartguns have existed since the obama presidency and they have sucked since before that. The only thing that is over is your funding after that hideous piece of shit tanks like the rest of the smart jam tastic non pairing delay having update needing shit piles.
Show me in the video where there’s delay in firing
Show me in the video where the biometrics are unreliable
Show me where in the video that the biometric system doesn’t work and is unreliable
>the code not being open source.
Agreed on this one.
>Show me where in the video that the biometric system doesn’t work and is unreliable
wow, something works in an edited ad that was paid for to sell a product
I guarantee that think won't work 99% of the time in the real world
>Show me where in the video
Show me in the video where it's tested 1000 times in a row minimum by someone not being paid by the company, yknow, like how we test every gun component.
>it DOESN'T rely on internet access
Well there goes the morons freaking out over killswitches
That's literally 80% of this thread along with them imagining scenarios where you'd for some reason be reaching for a nightstand gun with gloves on and a mask
I really like the concept of guns showing how many bullets they have left digitally, kind of like that one AR in halo, is there a gun that does something similar in real life?
The railgun he also reviewed
it has a laser lmao
>we're going to leave that off
Looks kinda interesting purely from the perspective of the market they're describing
make the big electric high point integrally suppressed only
I thought this thread was gonna be about the Aliens smartgun 🙁
Here's a THOUGHT, keep your nighttime home defense gun locked up during the day, wear your CC. Put your home defense gun in the nightstand only at yknow, NIGHT. This takes less than 10 seconds before going to bed and waking up in the morning.
Not this dystopian trash unless I can eject mags, monitor barrel heat, or see through the optics with my cyberware.
For a second I thought you meant the aimbot LMG from aliens and got hyped
I keep waiting for some based moron to take the open source aimbot shit already on GitHub and fabricobble a real sentry gun. I've seen it done with airsoft already. Is there a belt fed .22lr?
Probably need some sort of special firing pin that hits different parts of the rim of the case to guarantee ignition.
Watch glocktards adopt them after PD’s start using them “because they must be the best if police use them”
Police departments use Springfield XDs and sigshit...
>sigshit
>domes a sandy across the church in half a second
>drops gun without "voluntary upgrade"
>kills you
every police union in the country has refused to use smart guns, unless the locks can be disabled and the gun can be used as a normal gun. Every general in the military and nasty girls also refuses to have smart guns issued out to the military
>nasty girls
???
well, you outed yourself as a paid Israeli shill
Wut? Take meds.
They've been trying to sell this for 18 years...
I get it, technology is iterative. Moore's law, etc.
But this product is cucked beyond belief.
Maybe it makes sense for teachers, pilots, the actually moronic?
I won't be buying it because the family shown on their website are P*otestant trash.
Any gun company that uses miscegenation as a marketing tool won't be getting my money.
The only point in that shit IMO would be to protect you from getting killed with your own gun if Jamal manages to wrestle it from you. Otherwise that's a load of shit.
What's going on?
>shills smart gun
>shills 8.6mm hunting rifle
Did he have a kid? Is he hitting hard times and needs to take all these shill jobs?
well he just bought a $3.5k 8.6mm suppressed SBR hunting rifle so...
>noo you can't just heckin make new innovations you just can't ok
get minecrafted with your own gun by your own troony son who hates you schizo
>Shit on something
>reeeeeee you're literally trying to make it illegal fascist!!!
Remember this whenever a leftist gay makes fun of something, they think everything they don't like should be illegal.
My memory is fuzzy, aren't there supposed to be laws that are written to mandate electronic locks on guns, but only come into effect once such devices are commercially available?
It's literally the first thing he mentions in the video.
there was a New Jersey law from 2002-2019. IDK if any other state has one. NJ currently has a law that says if one becomes available stores have to advertise it for free and have one copy in the store for sale
>it's okay bros, israelite Jersey repelled their gay law, cuckguns are based now 😉
How much of a disingenuous homosexual can Ian be? There's nothing stopping grabbers from passing similar laws again, whether in NJ or elsewhere. And it's gonna be even worse for yurogays and thirdies.
And absolutely nobody truly needs this shit to begin with. Get a fricking safe you Black folk.
>but muh bump in the night
It's THE_CURRENT_YEAR. If you don't have a security system that will give you enough time to open a safe but are willing to buy this shit you're moronic.
>but I live in a dorm
Get a baby safe.
>but those can be stolen
>(assuming the company actively fights attempts to mandate it)
anon...
Fine I looked it up, here's a good article about the gun
https://archive.vn/lUtl6
>There’s no GPS location tracking chip in the gun, and it’s up to the owner to decide whether to connect the computing device to the internet for updates
>To prevent hacking or spying, the gun itself has no wireless or internet communications systems
>price is $1500, maybe more after preorders
>In 2019 [New Jersey] repealed the law and put a new system in place that will require gun stores to offer at least one smart gun as an option when a decent product arrives.
Okay, so Ian was lying when he said there wasn't a law about this. Not a good look. And now the important part:
>Instead of seeking smart gun mandates, for example, Biofire has lobbied against them, hoping to avoid becoming public enemy No.1 among NRA types.
Their gun isn't really good or practical yet, but it doesn't need to be to sell to rich kids who want to stand out.
>israeli CEO
>not a natural-born gun nut
>stands to gain the most from mandatory cuckgun legislation
>vague promises instead of something concrete like "20% of our profits will go to Gun Owners of America"
>israeli CEO

>raycism = bad, m'kay?
You do you, bud.
And if you can't stand animango the guys over at /r/guns don't take too kindly to it either. Might be better for your sanity to join them rather than suffer Chinese cartoon torture on a daily basis.
Anime website, sorry you dont have basic pattern recognition capabilities. Must be tough being a bugman
there is no way the company doesn't go under without a mandate
>(assuming the company actively fights attempts to mandate it)
the only way the company doesn't lose money is if there are mandates
The makers of smart guns know that no one will buy their garbage guns
They expect it to be made the only legal option
That is why these morons make these shitty guns that no one wants
Its literally all for gun control
They want a "Safe" option to exist so they can ban the "unsafe" guns
It’s pretty neat I guess but is a dedicated nightstand gun, not a duty gun. I won’t be buying one but I wouldn’t criticize somebody who buys one as a dedicated nightstand gun.
so dumb. the only thing i want the gun to do is go bang when i pull the trigger. that's it.
Can my gun be a smartphone?
Can my smartphone be a gun?
This is what happens when you didnt stop selling guns to morons, schizos, spergs, troons and kinds of looney tunes.
>A firearm for living with roommates
Just secure your firearms properly
>A firearm for living with children
Just secure your firearms properly.
>A firearm for if you get in a scuffle and get disarmed
Just shoot the threat before this happens
It's a neat idea for a niche market, but it sure as hell won't appeal to the paranoid frickwits here on /k/. A regular firearm is simpler and more reliable, and just as safe if you're not moronic. The real issues I see are sensors failing, unreliable mechanical action, damage to electronics rendering it a brick, and the fricking stupid holster/stand thing being conspicuous.
>but tha gubbermint will lock you out of the gun when the globalist regime deems you a threat
Stupid for alot of reasons, but mainly if there's a global conspiracy hit squad coming after you- having small arm isn't going to stop them. Inb4 drone strike or nitrogen gas.
going to get one just for how it looks
unless it costs $3k or something
about half that
