I would like to build a bar on me farm, however I am facing a significant problem, two fricking tree stumps, I cut them down, and the stumps have erupted with fricking hundreds of stems, how do I get rid of them without damaging the patio around jt
Help would be appreciated
These are the tools I have at my disposal, feet are included
that is the goofiest looking axe I've ever seen
anyway, pour some herbicide on it (ask in gardening store), that should kill it
and/or drill a bunch of hole in it and fill it with N fertilizer to make it rot from the inside (fungi need extra nitrogen to break down wood)
cheers man, i tried to just start cutting the frick out of it but thats a better ideam the axe works well to be fair
wall in the way, as well as me patio
not that simple, need to get rid of the stump itself, cant keep cutting off the fricking branches when they grow back
Buy a shovel and get digging
Did you really just make a post asking how to cut branches off of a tree…using tools designed to cut branches off of a tree? Average britbong user.
Salt the shit out of it or use a wide spectrum herbicide that will kill it once and for all.
buy or borrow a sawzall. you dont need an axe for felling - especially that small snack sized one that is better for splitting kindling. and those bow saws are no good for keeping tension, they lose all their temper over the years and eventually stop springing back. if yer gonna use a bow saw, use one with a stronger frame, like the H style saws if yer goin old fashioned. but bro its 2023 use powertools. you can steal a sawzall from walmart and even get one cheap at a flea market.. blades cant be more than a fiver each in some cases. get bent.
>the stumps have erupted with fricking hundreds of stems
This is called coppicing.
Drench with a mix of diesel and soil sterilant like bromacil. The thing about herbicides is they barely work but that will kill the stump nicely.
Farmers often use diesel or "weed oil" etc as carriers because water based herbicides don't work nearly as well. Follow directions and know overkill is good. I use detergent as surfactant (no need to buy the specialty shit).
One of the weedkiller type products you can buy at the garden store is a kinda chapstick stump paint thing. It'll kill the stump and stop it re-growing anything.
They do seem to be pretty effective.
Drive a handful of copper nails in it. That seems like the approach best suited to your skill and effort level here.
cover it in vaseline and salt then
