>Infantry dudes have bad knees, bad neck and a bad back.
>Loads up to 159 lbs. Buddies carrying 120 pounds during patrols in 'Stan.
What's all the stuff they carry?
Is there a list of that stuff?
How could we prevent or limit our guys from getting their bodies fricked up?
You can't stop it because any system used to reduce weight, like those packmule drones being proposed/tested, will just lead more shit to be carried because even if they are literally just in battle rattle, some homosexual in Ops will go "well if they don't need to carry that 120lbs of gear, they can carry 120lbs of rations/water instead and be out on patrol 10x as long!"
brain damaged take
No it’s correct, it’s why you never give 110 percent in any job
Because then that becomes the baseline expectation
Another silly, midwit take.
no, you're just a moronic Black person/spick/israelite/honkey/slant
I am giving you my copypasta because I can tell you are unhappy due to your anon name. Hope you feel better anon.
Try meditation.
Don’t harm yourself in any way but this monk burned himself to death with little sign of suffering with the power of meditation. Helps with my anxious neurotic personality. Makes life better. One of the best ways to control your own mind. Great for help with depression and suffering.
Fighting/patrol order is different to marching order, you braindead, vapid c**t.
>240 gunner above his AG
>ammo b***h exists
>grenadier anywhere near top
>rifleman that low
I fricking hate the gap between doctrine and reality
>ammo bearer has the lightest load
I know this is true, and I'm not even military. My dad was and this is his attitude. (No I don't regret it nb4 larper)
What's your point? That it wouldn't happen? That it's a good thing if it did?
sounds like someone with brain damage and is unaware that he has brain damage would say.
such cases, many
I mean yeah. Packs for mountaineering expeditions are every bit as heavy because the goal is to be able to stay out for a while and food and fuel isn't light. If you wanted troops to be less vehicle bound you'd have to load them up.
List it? Woah boy
1.Body Armor
2.Weapon
3.Helmet
4.Ammo
5.Water (on person/in ruck)
6.Ruck (all that follows will be contents)
7.Sleep system
8.Spare Uniforms
9.Wet Weather Uniform
10.Cold weather equipment
11.Spare boots
12.Socks 6xpair
13.Etool
14.550 cord
15.weapons cleaning kit
16.hygeine kit
17.Field towel
18.woobie
19.poncho x2
20.sandbags
21.sector stakes
That's not even counting mission specific equipment (breaching tools, skedco, at4, spare barrels, ski's, extra water etc)
How do they walk up steep hills for extended periods with that much weight? Is everyone in infantry a lot more fit than I think they are? Or do they just not do that?
>t. hiker but not rucker
Yes. Light infantry can do it because their bodies are conditioned to the task. You could carry that load too, probably at a faster rate than the general population, providing you condition your body to the task over a given period of time. Common people doing uncommon things.
These frickers carry individual sandbags around?
they carry empty bags to fill with sand
Ah. Wouldn’t they also carry a shovel in that list aswell?
tha would be the E tool
lurk more
>spare boots
>2x poncho
???
all that shitin the ruck is not 120lbs in any case
having your boots break in the middle of nowhere and you having many miles to hike to get anywhere would suck
That's why you don't wear shit boots. I don't understand why Americans get issued such shit boots
OP it doesn't matter what you do for a living your body is fricked once you enter your mid 30s and only gets worse.
Infantry? Bodys fricked
Mechanic? Bodys fricked
Office? Bodys fricked
May as well be doing something fun while your joints turn to shit
At least do some fricking yoga to try a counter it a little. Fricking gay defeatist attitude.
Shut up Black person
those dudes are just changing fobs. nobody patrols with an assault pack on top of their ruck. my back is fricked up though and the real problem is bulky armor with useless side plates. knees and neck are fine
Bring back the tactical cart
Hiking trailers should be the future of soldier rucking
>works great in rough terrain, no worse than hiking
>way less strain on the body
>military reports show them to result in faster marches
>if you get in a hairy situation can just unhook/drop them
>if totally necessary can take off the wheel and wear as a backpack
Literally no downsides except that it looks a bit goofy.
We all know the reality would be "great, this increases the functional load capacity by 60%. Well adopt it and increase the soldier load by 90%" infantry really are disposable in the worst kinds of ways.
They carry too much shit. A WW2 soldier was carrying almost nothing in weight compared to a modern soldier. Look at the Talibans, do they carry shit? Of course not, they don't have backpacks, they don't have armor, helmets, they just wear man dresses, headscarves and sandals.
absolutely moronic. There should be a minimum IQ test to post here.
The talibans won, you lost. Go check your IQ for real and not on the internet you mutt.
russia lost
brown people lost
NATO won
white people won
Hello all,
Ex Brit Infantry. Passed all arms commando and P course as well as qualified Recce and Sniper (pt.1 & pt.2)
Served 10 years
I am one of these guys with a dodgy back and neck specifically. The neck is due to the fact of laying in prone position for extended periods of time with a sniper. I qualified snipers upon entering battalion which was a rarity.
The knees from kneeling on patrol and lifting bergans all the time.
Now the back is a condition which is overlooked by a lot of militaries now days, everyone goes directly to disc degeneration as veing the issues, when it is actual fact its a Psoas condition caused by extensive impact specific activities. This causes inflammation and one will go to spasm throwing of the center line of the back. If not fixed it continues and exacerbates the neck and knees until you rehabilitate the psias and strengthen it again (popping hip syndrome is the same thing) if you have a one sided back back and one sided bad nexk, take a look at fixing your psoas)
A common theme between intra units rivalry and civies vs the military is, x can outrun y, y can out tab z etc etc.
What all are forgetting is purpose but also, the mental discipline invovled supersedes all forms.of p.t.
You can have beer gut giys in the sas/sbs, but they've got a good foundation of fitness but then also the mental attitude to just do it. Etc.
>what's all the stuff they carry
Sleeping system, gas mask, spare clothes, chow, and an e-tool off the top of my head
But nobody patrols with a main pack. That shit would get you killed, thats for long movements from a to b
