there's some aspects of the loneliness epidemic that are on you, like being more proactive about putting yourself in explicitly social settings like clubs or meet-ups even if it feels forced and weird, developing your social skills so they become natural, and just in general accepting there is a society wide problem with loneliness in adults and realizing you are going to need to put in some effort without being easily dissuaded. not everything is your fault though, the information age has led to some intense society wide ADHD, internet addiction, and a childlike need for instant gratification while social relationships take time to really come into their own and involve some labor
for what it's worth most people aren't terribly interesting either, doesn't mean they aren't worth being friends with though
