Finished my first project :)

Made a set of garden chairs from leftover pallets. What do you think? I know the angle of the seat looks kinda very but they are really comfortable!!

Those chairs look like something a fat homosexual with b***h breasts would make out of garbage. Is that a v6 Mustang in the background?

i don't think so, i know a very fat person, and in my experience i would say he would be unable to stand up from such a chair, due to the significant backward slope of the seat
fat people can't lean forward, because their fat is literally in the way, if you put them somewhere they need to lean forward by any significant amount to get up from, they're simply stuck there without assistance

LOL, Tiny Timber. I'm wondering how comfortable these chairs are. The angle looks extremely unpleasant which even the OP acknowledged. Also OP did you sand your pallet wood? Doesn't look like it. All in all at least you finished something and didn't abandon it, so good job for that. And good lord man do something about that yard, looks like the back yard of some abandoned hovel in the ghetto.

Frick all the people picking on your chairs. They’re more than they have done.

Crystals in your ears is a real thing and can make you incredibly dizzy if they get messed up. Put your google skills to the test and help your mom. There is a procedure that is easy and can work wonders.

Here's another angle of my chair project. I come from a long line of PrepHole folks. My Father was a stunt double for Norm Abrams and my mother sewed slip covers for Martha Stewart. You could say PrepHole is in my blood, child.

Here is another little piece I handcrafted recently. After replacing the wood on my steps with new composite boards, I had some of the old decking that was still in pretty good shape. One of the things my dad ol' Tommy T taught me was waste not want not, which is a lesson I took to heart, at the dinner table, with commas in my writing, and in my PrepHole projects. I decided to repurpose some of these perfectly good board into a decorative planter for my backyard paradise. Here they are before assembly.

          Anonymous

And here is the finished project. I cleverly left the wood in a distressed state, to add to the ambience of my little slice of nature in the bustling urban metropolis I call home.

How strong are these chairs? If you sit and lean your weight on the back, whats holding it together, the T connection to the lower board? Seems like a lot of moment and its going to fold on itself

I mean, can you talk about the points of maximum stress? I believe that the base of the back of the chair has to sustain a huge moment and i dont see anything holding it that has a large arm, so the local stresses must be huge. It just looks as it it will fail and flip

tfw you stop almost halfway through a project and realize you've spent 4+ hours on the table saw and a chisel for a fricking pressure treated fence gate on the back corner of the house that you use once a year

If you ever find yourself using the words "fence gate" and "joinery" in the same sentence, you need to stop and ask yourself where it all went wrong.

it has to be done right. i don't care if no one else will know, I WILL KNOW.

The saga continues. Finished the gate yesterday afternoon and decided to wait to install until today. Take down the old gate, "hmmm... this post is a bit wiggly". Proceed to pull four 4x4 fence posts in a row out of the ground one-handed, most of them rotted out 4 inches below grade. So now installing the gate has turned into replacing a whole section of fence. And there were some little trees growing up along those panels, so I get to finally take those out as well... So much for being done by noon.
