A bomb would be more practical at killing feds. Unless you're talking about home defense in which case all you need is a cheap and reliable shotgun/semi-auto rifle.
yes, but just how necessary is this for speed focused, short range carbine work? especially with red dots and their hella eye relief. It looks funny but so does the blocky plastic frame pistol compared to what came before. Be open-minded or you will become the Boomer.
Its far faster to get a repeatable sight picture by plonking your face directly onto a stock than floating you eye around behind the gun.especially in non standard shooting positions
Having a consistent indexable placement for your head on the gun makes you acquire any sights, even a dot, faster. You're controlling recoil with your whole body, including using your cheek/ face the way you'd give pressure to a wrestling partner. These high mounts are *only* good for shooting with nods (or gasmasks, etc.), cause you don't wanna smash the nods and the gun trying to passively aim. There's clearly a ton of people who don't get the point though, and use shit like unity risers without a laser while not owning night vision, and that's just handicapping yourself. Understand what purpose your rifle holds to you, and equip it accordingly.
What's the point though? I really do not understand what this contraption is attempting to achieve. Also a cheap carry handle Z rail accomplishes the same task for like 20 bucks and you're not stuck with micro dots
>repeatable grip without blocking the flood >easier passive aiming under nods >lam weight moved closer to the shooter >can't see it at night anyway >can still use irons >zero downsides
So what you do is put a didlo grip underneath your gun and use that since you decided to put a bunch of gizmo's on the gun that should be on the helmet minus the optic and laser of course.
> ideal height for passive NV aiming > better weight distribution > reduced zero shift on the IR laser > opens rail space for a modified C-grip > room for a future flip up magnifier
This is a specialized tool that only a few people need. Pathetic civilians will by this and post on IG while they do flat range NV drills.
It looks fricking stupid and gets in the way of LPVOs and/or magnifier/optic combos
I don't even know what the price is, but I don't care because I'm not watching another hypebeast instagram-larperator grift episode

Also I don’t think that moving weight away from the centerline of the gun is a good thing.

OP is a shill, but not for this product. He is paid to raise advertisement revenue by inflating post counts to PrepHole. He achieves this by repetitively spamming threads of a similar theme in order to create some level of controversy amongst posters, therefore a greater amount of posts. He uses different devices or a dynamic IP to do so. In the following days, you will see more threads like this with the a similar picture and the same, lazy OP; >find a flaw >explain x >checkmate, "abc" >ITT; ex
Single lines in the OP; low-effort laziness used to drum up bullshit opinions and partisan frickwiterry responses from organic posters; the same happens on many boards where the traffic would be significantly less if it isn't being stimulated by these means. When the thread doesn't gain enough traction, he'll spam the thread with lazy, single line responses such as: >x is bad/good >x is unaesthetic/aesthetic
-all to keep the thread alive or to try and motivate an organic user to bite and therefore create further chains of responses and therefore greater justification of revenue. It's farming, of sorts. As the "why" has been answered, the next question to ask is "who". I would hazard to guess it is either PrepHole staff or individuals contracted out to PrepHole in order to achieve this given end-state; more revenue.
Either way, frick you OP. You're a gigantic homosexual.
That kind of lazy posting only happens because the mods refuse to enforce any rules on this board beyond the no gun control one. Black folk could probably post cheese pizza here and have it stay up for a good 12 hours. Just ignoring and reporting works when the threads get taken deleted fairly quickly, but when the average anon sees a shitty bait thread and knows that it's going to be remade 50 times until one of them gets some traction, and the mods won't do shit, then there's no reason to resist the temptation to go and call OP a homosexual.
>Black folk could probably post cheese pizza here and have it stay up for a good 12 hours.
Hit or miss. I have seen some stuff stay up for the life of the thread and others vanish in minutes. Most of it rates a 3 day ban or less either on the board or globally. Not sure what cheesy pizza gets you but the worst I caught was a 30 day for a spicy opinion involving rope and people that should dangle from them.
My biggest issue is based on full power IR LAM/MFAL designs.
Most of not all FP lasers have it off centerline of bore to not interfere with front sight posts. Same with white light or IR illuminator heads. I haven't looked into the "hydra" all that much but is there documentation for parallel zeroing of common military IR laser aiming tools? I'm not one for bringing the laser emitter further above the bore, outside of equipment considerations. I've always felt that a LAM or MFAL should have the aiming IR laser as close to the bore line as possible. My thinking is close quarters should be dominated by active aiming and longer ranges should prefer passive aiming. I'm not against higher mounted red dots for NOD or gasmask usage. It seems reasonable. But I cannot help but feel that a closer to bore mounted laser can mitigate the close range zero issues a high as frick red dot mount creates.
Sorry for shit grammar, I'm drunk.
Zeroing a lam is no different than zeroing an optic, which is already mounted offset from the bore. Obviously height over bore becomes exacerbated and you need to adjust your zero accordingly. For close range cqb you still need to know your holds for a red dot so again moot point, and at very close distances 25 yds and in you're pretty much guaranteed hits anyway so it's more about speed than precision.
Just can't help but think that a laser emitter being closer to the bore would enhance the usefulness. I understand that there are other factors to take into account. But an inline laser has to have some advantages over an offset.
Like what? It's the same concept as an optic, both are zeroable. In fact, a laser truly inline with the bore would be useless as the bullet starts dropping as soon as it leaves the barrel.
Hight over bore becomes a hindrance at close range. Your dot is inches higher than point of impact. Outside of flat ranges with perfectly visible target? Shooting over the tube is a concept for a reason.
And an inline with bore laser emitter would simplify holds without canting the gun. Closer to centerline of bore, less windage hold to account for. Closer to the bore in terms of direct distance? Less elevation hold.
Like I said, height over bore isn't a new thing, optic risers have been a thing for years, even carry handle optics have a significant height over bore. You just train around it. At the range where hob is an issue, windage is not. At the distance where windage starts to matter you're either shooting passive or not at all.

What I am saying is having two separate aiming devices. With one being zeroed for closer range and the other being zeroed for further ranges. Allows the end user to keep speed at closer ranges and accuracy at further ranges, without sacrificing too much with either aiming device.
What you are saying is that a zero is a zero, and that hold overs at close range do not get complicated by hight over bore in the 2 inch range. Shooting over your zero is way more difficult than you are implying. More so with a simple reticle like a dot or laser.

I personally wouldn't zero my devices separately, it adds too much complexity to think about. I'd rather just have one set of holds and train to them. Either way, whether or not you have the lam on a riser, the optic will be offset from the lam, so the same situation applies.

But if you zero aiming devices together at a convergence point. But the devices are at different heights, you have two different zeros.
Zeroing your optic to a traditional zero, and your lower sitting LAM at a parallel zero. Gives you speed with both.
Guess it boils down to preference to converging or parallel zero for LAMs.
I don't understand why this device is generating such a massive amount of asshurt. If you're raiding a building with a super short gun without much rail space this design makes perfect sense. Is /k/ mad that it's expensive or that it's made by instagay people? I don't need this thingy so it's pointless for me (and I'd assume the vast majority of /k/). Why are we getting multiple posts per day about it?
>1) It looks moronic, aesthetically >2) It's hilariously costly >3) It's for stupidly niche, narrow-scope applications >3) It seems primed to become the latest badge of accomplishment for hypebeasts that everyone knows have no real use for but do it anyways since they love nothing more than to chase whatever the current door-kicker meme is >This is just me explaining why it would get so much coverage here, mind you.
people are tired of seeing these niche gadgets get so much attention by people who don't fit the niche and just want the clout associated with it. then they try to stop the organic and inorganic attention by posting about it for some reason. beyond me why they're bothered or why they think negative attention will make something go away here but that's my take.

This seems designed, to me, for super short ARs for doorkicker types with helmets on who can't get a cheek weld anyways. Otherwise, I don't see other uses.
Height over bore doesn't matter when your shots are going to be center mass anyways at 10 feet across the room.
