US flag code is moronicly strict for basically no reason other than autism anyway, in the UK where that picture is taken, along with most of Europe, they only autism about the procession of the flags in certain order, and making sure its the right way round. Oh of course not sullying it.

Americans need to chill, there's been angled flags longer than your gay country has existed. You get worked up over the stupidest things.

Well, the US won the global game, so IDK. Maybe patriotic autism actually mattered.

Being American, I wouldn't expect you to understand good European flag aesthetics.
Angled flags have been in pretty much every horse ridden procession, even in the US.

                >The flag is just a piece of cloth. That's an indisputable physical fact, unless you count the pole. Any symbolism and emotional importance that you endow the flag with is just your perspective, it's not physical reality.
                >I'm a very patriotic veteran. I enlisted at 17 during the Vietnam war even though I took criticism from everyone for it. I love this country and what it stands for. The flag is merely a symbol of that, nothing more.
                >I have usually found that most of the flag lovers I met have never done a damn thing for this country other than wave a piece a cloth around on holidays, and then claim that makes them a patriot. It's as meaningful and meaningless as a "I support the troops" bumper sticker.

No, the A0 was yes, then it got fixed to the A1 about 20 years ago, then it was much much better. With the A3 it's a decent rifle, nothing special, well balanced but heavy, but it's not a bad rifle anymore and hasn't been for about 20 years when it got fixed.

A soldier trained on one AR can reliably pick up another and use that. The UK will have L85A2/3/4's as training rifles, so they will train on those. The training isn't just about 'aiming' but about moving with weight and covering angles and all that shit. As various videos have shown, the loadouts Ukrainians have are all over the place anyway.

      Anonymous

Its to do with safety and also supply of blank rounds. They are trained on the AK pattern but for blank firing they are given the L85.

      Anonymous

They're laser tagging rifles for scored hits I think, the idea is for tactics, the rifles don't really matter.

      Anonymous

Likely they're just using what's in the armory at the training center, especially given how beat to shit they look.
Seeing as how they also are pictured with AK's it's almost certainly that the only BFA's they had available were the ones with the L85

Can't we just admit this war isn't a fair test of Russia's military might because it's basically the whole world against Russia? I mean everyone is sending their best equipment to Ukraine and literally building their army on what should be neutral soil, and Russia can't even do anything in resistance to preserve world peace and keep the conflict isolated. Honestly, you'd think everyone would have learned by now, we've only had to put up with it for eight months of this three-day special military operation.

One thing that this war has thought me is that a larger part than I thought of such posts is in fact not bait; it’s what they genuinely believe.
I no longer view Russians as humans, completely unironically all memes aside.

I guess you didn't see the TikTok videos of Kadyrovites bragging about gang raping female civilians in ukraine.
Or that video of the russian who walked into a civilian family home, executed two parents, and filmed himself raping their 5-year old daughter. (that video is real, but don't look it up, just reading about it was enough to make me sick)

            >Sweden's peacekeeping efforts during the Congo crisis was a good example. "Peacekeeping means jet fighter strafing runs right?"
See also NordBat2 in Kosovo. Highlight include:

That time the Serbs got wienery and attacked a Swedish overwatch position, leading the Swedes to radio the Danes for help, so a combined armored column of Swedish APCs and Danish tanks to the rescue. This resulted in the Dano-Swedish forces sending about 30 105mm shells and hundreds of 20mm rounds at the Serbs. Destroying two Serb tanks, one anti-tank gun, and killing around 50 men. The UN got buthurt and argued that heavy tanks shouldn't be used for peacekeeping. NordBat2 responded by requesting that they'd be allowed to keep the tanks and also bring in 155mm artillery.

That time the Serbs set up an illegal roadblock and stopped a Swedish-Danish column of mechanized infantry. The Nordics just held all the serbs at gunpoint while the a Swedish Major grabbed the most senior Serb at the roadblock by the collar and pistol-whipped him so badly that he nearly died. The Serbs just let the Nordics pass through the roadblock after that little spectacle.

And there was the fact that NordBat2 (allegedly) had a habit of removing the patches from their uniforms, putting camo-covers on their blue helmets, and going out on illegal search&destroy missions against known enemy positions.

Same for Slovenia, Kosovo and others
I mean I can understand not including Kosovo, that was a 2002 map so it was still contested, but Slovenia had been a proper country for a while.

It honestly seems like china is trying to cut ties with the vatniks now to save face.
If they sense enough weakness from the vatniks it's not outside the realm of possibility that they could try to capture some contested areas of which are now largely undefended due to the vatniks deploying everyone they can to Ukraine.

If the chinese pull this move it will also ingratiate them with the west, which is something china cares deeply about, even though they don't admit it.

by this logic do the Iranians declare war on Ukraine?
They have trainers helping the Russians with the drones they bought, and unlike the UK their people are actually in the theatre of war.

/V/irgin here. As a guy who's never really browsed /k/ before I'd like to say it's genuinely refreshing to see a majority of people here, from what little I've seen anyways, are in support of Ukraine and are fully aware of the fact that the Russians are the ones who have crossed the line.
I came back to this site after years cause I wanted some on the ground footage of the combat and decided to go on /misc/ for that, which was a big mistake. Mostly because, aside from the usual, the place is full of obvious Russians trying to come off as Yankees spouting from the propaganda sheet that Ivan has handed them for the day, and PrepHole isn't much better with most discussions being about 80% trannies to 20% games.
What's the reason for this? Is it because this place is full of actual Americans or something else?

Regardless, I'm glad to know the stories were true. /k/ truly is a magical place.

/k/ has had to deal with ersistent vatnik spam and trolling (not just a thread talking about equipment, tactics or what have you, but really low quality shoppers about how amazing Russia is) for over a decade, its hard to underestimate the amount of schaudenfreude going on these past months

/k/ has a generally older right wing white population full of actual oldgays, that have had to deal with moronic Russian military shills for years. Most people here unlike on /misc/ aren't doomposters that openly hate their nation. Many are patriots fully aware of Russian shill ops.
When Ukraine rolls around and the Russian military turned out to be as moronic as we thought they were, it was pretty easy to side with the little guy who had western weapons and western support.
I would argue their military failures and shit shilling and lies about their weaponry that is obviously deboonked during this war is what cemented their place here as failures and morons.

Also, nowhere else has enjoyed so many lolcows to laugh at, it's been fun.

Maybe /misc/ posters just don't want to see Slavs kill each other because israelites on both sides want them to.
