Crazy. I’ve been reading and watching a bunch of stuff about the second Iraq war and it’s crazy that they were able to successfully invade it with their infantry in unarmored open top humvees. How times have changed in 20 years.
Marines have always had a very successful PR angle and convincing people they "make do" more than othet services is part of that. They've always been well funded in the modern era.
I did a breakdown once and I believe per capita the marines are better funded than the army. Also a lot more of their logistics tail is handled by the navy. Marines in the current era who b***h about having to make do are drama queens who act like people in other services never need to improvise in the field.
look at the gear rangers used 10 years ago and you'll see Marines being issued the same equipment today, but they'll claim it's NEW AND CUTTING edge. Seriously, find a picture of a ranger from 2014 and a marine from 2024.
In 2014 they all had ops core helmets, electronic ear pro, dual tube NVGS, suppressors, mk18s with two barrel length options, elcans acogs eotechs aim points and magnifiers, mk48s and mk46s, hk nade launchers and euds running atak on company/bn networks, and carl Gs, crye plate carriers and last but not least, uniforms which integrate comfortably and effectively a knee pad solution that's not 1980s skateboard kmeepads. All of this. Ten years ago. The Marines don't even have a squad machine gun right now, and now they don't even have snipers or even a DM school.

sounds cool as frick though
US marines do just get the hand-me-downs from the army, but now the hand-me-downs are getting nicer. Also it’s not untrue to say that they invaded Iraq with a good chunk of their infantry in open topped unarmored humvees.

I know it's effective but I hate how ungainly RCWS look. If you put it in a proper turret it'd be fine. But it looks so ersatz horror.
Marines are kings of PR and memes. Frankly I don't even buy the 'herp derp crayon eating' shit. Yeah, your basic b***h rifleman who never advances might be that but they've shown a canny cleverness that belies being big dumb grunts.
no, but it's not necessary to make it manned and the idea of leaving a handful of those on various atolls to act as 500nm antiship landmines is pretty funny
So this thing has maybe moderate protection against light commercial drone usage. That's pretty bad since if it can't even completely cope with commercial drones meant for social media pictures, they'll just be helpless against them once their militarized.
*full autonomy
*ability to detect anti-drone systems and coordinate swarm attacks to overwhelm
*EW resistance
*low observability
*autonomous charging
*integrated solar panels in-field sleep mode and ambush waiting
*autonomous target acquisition
Establish air dominance through your own drones, and other long strike capabilities to eliminate enemy drone deployment capabilities in the area. Then you can move in ground assets after it's safe, and most importantly, you can carry your big bad rifle around pretending like you're important and useful.
Oh so you're just moronic, got it. >eliminate enemy drone capabilities
Literally each serviceman can carry 1 of the frickers with munitions easily in a pack.
You cannot win with saturation of force, especially when used in guerilla tactics.
You either need to disable or kill the threat in all potential situations, focusing solely on the ground component is fricking moronic.
You can have 2.5 shitzillion of your own drones in the air, it's not going to stop other drones being up.
This isn't like a proper RPA, I worked with the MQ9s in the chairforce, it's a completely different world when you're talking local mobile launch platforms that are effectively self contained in a 30 sqinch package. You can't just take out a GCS or SCIF somewhere to disable or stop operations.
It's the reason why we're pursuing multiple avenues >electronic >kinetic >heat/laser >rapid kinetic response
when it comes to drones
To put it in perspective you're basically making this argument: >If A2A long range missiles exist why do we make more SAMs
"X isn't real" gays are less funny than amogus gays. we get it you don't believe in nukes or space or anything now shut the frick up
The original microwave ones were pretty fricking hilarious, especially the more serious morons on /x/.

Well we have just the optimal tool to kill servicemen don't we now? Drones!
I support putting 30mm autocannons on every vehicle with space for a turret.
>*full autonomy >*ability to detect anti-drone systems and coordinate swarm attacks to overwhelm >*EW resistance >*low observability >*autonomous charging >*integrated solar panels in-field sleep mode and ambush waiting >*autonomous target acquisition
This is just a landmine with extra steps
>Fill a balloon with explosives and a way to detonate it on contact/proximity with drones >Fly a few around the target >Perfect drone defence with little cost
Bros, where do I contact Lockheed Martin?
FRICK JLTVS

Retvrn to the GOAT.
Clever.

This looks less like a weapons platform and more like some kind of eldritch horror
Excellent

Ya rangers totally have hk416 with vcogs and first spear PC's.

Lol. You should redo your math their buddy.
EVERYONE had unarmored humvees, hence my statement of the Marines pretending they have to make do MORE than other branches
Here's the 101st AB with unarmored humvees.

No cabin penetration means they can be put on more things. I've seen FMTV trucks with RWSs

Female to Male TransVestite? What am I missing here?
A functional brain
Get with the times grandpa. This isn't 1942 anymore
was it really necessary to make it unmanned
no, but it's not necessary to make it manned and the idea of leaving a handful of those on various atolls to act as 500nm antiship landmines is pretty funny
out sticks you on the atolls. what do?
Well, those missiles are the lynchpin of one nations defense while it's just a tripwire for the other so probably nothing in particular
>Pushes your shit in
What do?

shocking

>but here's this future state scenario that doesn't exist yet
>ha, get rekt
You're a genuine moron.
What do you mean anon? Doesn't your country's MBT have deep pen heat resistant APFSDS rounds for plasma armor created by Haiti? Psssh
>see it does work
It is a net waste of resources to produce.
As apposed to what alternative that can currently solve the problem? I'll wait.

>MATV but 5’11”
Just need one of those station every 500 meters huh
Two of these detached to one of the many completely massacred brigade level attacks in this war would make a big difference.
these things just need a high powered laser
