So, after years of delays, a new anti-personnel charge dubbed "hyppypanos", officially "take-off canister" in English, is approaching the point where the production of the "zero -batch" aka test batch of 100 live devices and 20 inert devices can begin, the specifications are rather vague for now, but here's what we know:
*weight 5-10kg
*when triggered the device jumps 20-30 meters (60 to 90 feet) into the air and detonates
*blast radius of 50-100m
*over 3000 steel- and tungsten fragments
the device is remotely detonated (because Finland STILL hasn't withdrawn from the Ottawa treaty), can be detonated using a number of different methods used by FDF such as detonating cord.

"Somali-TV's" blast pattern is horizontal, this one's is vertical (as in straight down) so even a foxhole wouldn't protect you from the fragments.
Yeah I can see how this would be better atleast in certain parts of finland.
plus, you can rig this to be part of a chain, be it a chain of VP2010s or a chain of these, or even a mixture.

I have no trouble believing shrapnel can fly that far, but ~8kg seems a bit too little to assure hitting your target over such a large area.
it seems the contraption hasn't been tested as a unit yet so the actual effective radius is unknown (safety regulations among other things have caused delays; FDF needs to first be convinced that every component is safe to test before they can test the effectiveness of the thing)
The kill zone will probably be around 30-40 meters
