Fanny pack carry

How viable is carrying in a fanny pack?

I have no problem carrying in the Fall, Winter, or Spring, but Summers get so hot and humid here that all I wear is shorts and a t-shirt which means I can only conceal very small guns like the Ruger LCP.

Would it make sense to use a fanny pack to carry my 43X?

It will carrier your gun, and also tell everyonecaround you that you have a gun, and also you will look like a homosexual.

Who cares? I saw a guy at a coffee shop dressed up like a “gray man” with a punisher shirt, cargo pants, a coyote tan hoodie with molle on it, a Fanny pack and oakleys. Everyone in the shop knew he had a gun, but what are they going to do about it? Nothing.

NOBODY sneaks up on a gray man. He is constantly scanning his environment, sitting with his back against a wall, giving every potential threat an ocular pat down. The gray man is in control of every situation he’s in.

Go for a cross body style fanny pack for the summer look and also yeah you'll be good if you dont have a really small pack. My buddy carries his sig like that and no one ever notices.

What if a homie like me comes up with my gun already drawn and tells you to empty your pockets and gimme the homosexual fanny pack while you're at it.

Pocket carry and fanny pack carry are the dumbest methods of carry. Carry IWB and you'll always have the jump.

Have one I've used like twice, makes me look too gay in actual practice. I just wear a belt loose with no belt loops and my gun attached to it when I run. When tightened up it manages to stay mostly put even when sprinting. Make sure your belt clip is a strong one if you're gonna do this, I once had a Redhead one (shitty Bass Pro Shops brand) and peeped into the gym while running to hit the heavy bag for a bit. My gun fricking flew off as I was hitting the bag and a couple people saw it and ooo'd at me. I grabbed it and noped the frick out of there but it was embarrassing and obviously unsafe.

It saddens me to see that fanny packs have such a stigmatized image.

They are actually quite handy things and I would probably use one, if that stigma would not exist. But I can't be seen wearing one because people will laugh at me. Or think I have a gun or something.

Having a fanny pack would give just nicely enough room to have a small first aid/booboo kit, maybe a small bottle of water (or whiskey), some tissues or emergency poncho or something. Extra inventory space is always welcome. But not in the form of fanny pack.

One of my coworkers is a 6'2" jacked bald man, seriously looks like the Prometheus alien. He fanny pack carries a G19 all the time, and you can't tell it's in there at all. He keeps his phone& wallet in there as well.
So anyways, yeah it's viable, but personally I'm a fan of taking a small gun with clip such as a Clip Draw in the waistband. Much easier in a pinch to just lift your shirt and draw than it is to fumble with a zipper when you're adrenaline is pumping and some neck tattoo has a fawty pointed at you

Fanny pack carry is moronic. Off-body is by far the slowest to draw carry method. You have zero options for inconspicuous draw, so there's no way to speed it up.
    >but anon it's hooooot
I EDC a large frame revolver through the summers of the hottest climates in the US and have never been caught in 5 years of doing so. You want people to justify your carry method because you're too lazy to work on something better. If you want to go full meme off body carry, you should just get a backpack and shove a PDW in there to EDC.

I have to work in schools and don't want my coworkers to know I carry so I need an option to inconspicuously disarm before going on campus while still being able to rearm and carry when I leave. Only reason I do off-body. Yes, it's slow, but slow is better than unarmed.
    >inb4 carry anyway
Not going to prison, thanks. After this job I'm right back to IWB, which I do off the clock anyway.

I'll say the same thing every God damn time I don't care if people call me a shill. Carrying in a fanny pack is objectively the best way to carry and there is no strong argument against it. It goes with every attire. It works in every situation. It's easy to draw from with just a quick zip and a pull. You can carry extra mags, skittles, and a tourniquet.
    >p-people will know you have a gun!
Because you're wearing a fricking fanny pack? Normal people and even criminals don't think twice about fanny packs of sling bags. You only stand out if you're wearing a tacticool 60L backpack.
    >y-you look like a gay!
I would rather look like a gay and be fully prepared and unburdened than be without a gun or inadequacy equipped. Why do you care what people think to begin with?
    >i-it's easy to steal and makes you a target!!
Yep real easy to steal. All the have to do is run up on me with a knife, cut through the steel wiring of the belt, rip it all through my belt loops, and then make off with it. If someone is going after a fanny pack instead of a purse or watch then you have bigger problems than what you're wearing.

Zero good logical reason not to carry in a fanny pack. Slap a medical patch on it like pic related and no one will question it. Straight up try to make an argument outside of how it makes you look.

My dad always carried a gun when he was outside the house. In the Fall, Winter and Spring he wore a suit and carried in OWB. In the Summer months he would wear shorts and a polo and carried his gun in a fanny pack.

fanny packs still stick out too much, it's obvious to anyone looking that you're carrying something very deliberately. they can safely assume it's a gun or you're hard gay and it's a deeldough + lube....either way someone is gonna try to frick with you

You're so out of touch with the general population it's actually insane. You honestly sit there, right now, with the belief that when the average person sees a fanny pack they instantly think gun? That the average person will even see it in the first place? You know the 99% that are just trying to get in and out of walmart as fast as possible? Or just trying to walk through the street to their destination without running into someone they know or stepping in shit? Or the person standing in line just trying to pay for their gas? That just isn't the case. Just step outside and open your eyes. No one even notices you to begin with.

No they think "homosexual!" first, then they think "psycho with a gun".

Your post is pure, unfiltered copium. I hope you know everyone is laughing at you when you walk around Walmart with your fanny pack on. You're not being cool, you're not Joe Rogan, you're not a tactical ubermensch, you are just a tryhard weiner.

And that is how I know you're delusional. No one is looking at you. There are too many people and too many problems that people have for people to care or notice others. The amount of people who don't even notice someone open carrying is astonishing in itself. You are living in your own reality if you think people take notice of anything.

a cross body bag is a good alternative, and you wont stick out carrying. drawing from it will take alittle longer, but just practice your draw.

You could make the argument that it's quicker if you actually train to do it just like you would train to draw from IWB. If you do the classic hands in the air into drawing from your IWB holster you still have to factor in things like lifting your shirt. Cross body bag or fanny pack you just zip it and rip it the same way. If you carry a revolver you could even shoot through your cross body bag. The ol' here let me get my wallet jokes on you it's a gun trick.

If you don't think you can unzip a bag on your chest and pull out a handgun just as fast if not faster than pulling up your shirt, reaching into your pants, and pulling out a hand gun then I don't know what to tell you. Each takes practice. Of course you're going to be slow doing drills for the first time.

These are making a comeback recently, but as cross-body bags. I mostly see chicks wearing them, but I occasionally see dudes with them too. No one is gonna think twice about you carrying one or know you have a gun inside unless it's something like an autismo mall ninja 5.11 pack or a hypebeast Rhodesian camouflage pack.

Make sure it's big enough to carry more than just your gun. If someone asks why you have a fanny pack you can just pull out some tissues or a wrench or some candy.
