>every survival bushcraft channel
>set up shelter
>eat
>sleep
>eat some more
>go home
>thanx gaiz fur wotchin'
bonus round
>walk 10 feet away from the trail
>set up your camera
>go back and nonchalantly walk as if you just arrived
>run back to fetch your camera
>repeat for another hundred "cinematic" shots
>have your simp make another shitty youtuber thread on PrepHole
This board would probably be dead without all the spammy daily PrepHoletuber threads.
Shorts/tick tocks read so much worse
Is that legit a thing?
Almost as though it's a specific genre of video that people enjoy watching
>set up your camera
>go back and nonchalantly walk as if you just arrived
>run back to fetch your camera
Even Les Stroud does this. Love the man and his stuff, but hate this nonsense. I know it's for TV (or in your case, YouTube) but it doesn't add anything for me, just subtracts from the show.
Still not as funny as those Bear Grylls scenes taken three steps from a busy road.
This, I prefer when they just set up the camera at their car, walk into the woods and leave it filming, then come back to get it three days later. That's real.
Sarcasm is the lowest form of wit.
My apologies; next time I'll be sure to just say "you're a moronic homosexual" in keeping with the dialogue of all these intellectual giants.
Or you could post any counterpoint, you drooling sperg.
Counterpoint: setting up cinematic shots that simulate walking to/from the campsite is a popular method because there are lots of people who enjoy seeing it. It helps to show that the person making the video is in a more remote area versus just turning on a camera in their backyard. The fact that you don't like it doesn't make it "nonsense". Do you also expect movies to cut out scenes involving travel simply because you know they already had the film location set up before the actors got there? Also, you're a moronic homosexual and I fricked your mom last night.
>my opinion is better than your opinion
Good one bud.
Some outdoor YouTubers use a fisheye camera to get the same effect when they're hiking in. I like that a hell of a lot more. "The concept of "survival" shows that have people walk twice the distance for some cinematic shots stinks. Also, ooga booga you're a child and gay and don't go PrepHole etc.
>opinion
Observable fact, people enjoy those videos and no amount of b***hing on yoyr part will change it
>fisheye camera to get the same effect
lol wut
>my opinion js a fact, p-p-please argue with me
Lol. Lmao even.
>it's not a fact that those videos get a shit ton of views
>nobody subscribes to those channels
>it's a super unpopular video genre because I don't like it
lol indeed
What are you still arguing about, little homosexual? It's still "the opinion of other people" v.s. the opinion I hold. Never claimed my thoughts on the matter to be anything but an opinion. "But lots of other people like it so you should too"-ass argument. Hivemind homosexual.
How about you point out the post where anybody told you that you should enjoy those videos, champ?
Post links to the videos full of comments saying "stop making those walking shots"
He's funnier than you and also more eloquent and his logic is more sound.
lmao
I'd rather go for a pint with you than the guy you're replying to.
My man
yeah it's gay as frick, but morons love that kind of garbage, it probably makes them feel like they are watching 'proper' tv instead of some autist's youtube channel.
In reality the production quality of a video is often inversely proportional to how interesting its content is
Have a look for radio amateurs that do hiking and backpacking, SOTA/POTA and portable operations. At least they do something interesting when they get there...
>radio amateurs
These are the weirdest nerds around, even weirder than train nerds. Should be interesting to watch, tho. Can you recommend a channel?
>repeatedly watch content that you don't enjoy or understand
>get upset about it
>post about it on a Chinese cartoon image board
I like hobo shoestring because he doesnt edit and definitely doesnt script. He turns on the camera, curses out a few trains for not having comfy carriages and then tells us whats in his bucket for 20 minutes and then signs out.
Stubb the hobo was the same way.
Why are all my favorite train hoppers dead?
The same is true with "vanlife" videos
>drone footage
>setup camera
>drive past camera
>pickup camera
>cook meal in van
>turn off light
same with "wilderness cooking" channels
>setup camera in scenic spot
>cook ingredience that have nothing todo with wilderness, infact are imported and bought from grocery store
>random clip of cat/dog/pet that also is clearly urban and domesticated
>splash some river water or use a rock or something
>the end
>wow
people that won't or can't go PrepHole live vicariously through buying gear they'll never use and through watching survival bushcraft channels.
maybe 10% of PrepHoleists actually go out, if you go on and PrepHoleing twice a year and post pics here you're already in the cool kids club
I thought about making a youtube channel that was entirely first-person camping, but I don't think people would enjoy it since 90% of my time is spent standing around staring at trees and deeply inhaling that theraputic woods aroma
>I thought about making a youtube channel that was entirely first-person camping, but I don't think people would enjoy it since 90% of my time is spent standing around staring at trees and deeply inhaling that theraputic woods aroma
hell yeah i would watch that
