unironicaly easier to obtain a pipebomb with some nail than a doctor capable of saving you from a room clearing
Unironically video games like rainbow six, Tarkov and insurgency. Very ironically the best way to clear rooms in all of those games and in real life is to spray them the frick down and liberally use frags. Maybe a rocket. But then you can’t show off your movement god tier gun skill.
While these are without discussion excellent ways to pacify (or liquify, honestly) all hostiles in a room, there may be people or items in that room you don't want/can't afford to share that fate. Which leaves you with the hard way. Hope you brought flashbangs.
Sniping absolutely has its place, but it relies totally on having line of sight and absolute control over all avenues of approach. If I was expecting to gonup against a sniper, I'd bring a grenade launcher with smoke and/or tear gas to absolutely ruin his position and force him to give up his advantage. Modern launchers reach out a long way in their own right.
Of course, this is all a giant mental game of rock-paper-scissors-gun. There will never be an ultimate answer to end all answers.
>to absolutely ruin his position and force him to give up his advantage
Not to be a contrarian but you'll be dead long before you even get an idea of where his position is. Unless you have some kind of recon or forewarning of a sniper in the area then you'll likely get dropped without having ever known there was one around. The best counter to a sniper is another sniper, laser designators only work if you know his location and at which point becomes null if he spots you, which he will.
Real deal snipers aint nothin to frick with, even a bubba in real tree with a savage 30-06 can do some handy work from a distance.
this is only true if bubba actually takes full advantage of having the drop on someone. if 60% of deer hunters fail every season, it stands to assume that bubba can blow his shot and be up a creek if he's sniping alone. now if he's got effective control over the area via comrades, that's a different story.

In a situation where theres a bubba sniper on par/superior with/to any average soviet sniper then you can bet your ass he isnt alone. Just one such sniper was able to kill some 30 or so people off a tower at a texas university. More the exception than the rule, but skill and experience make a big difference. But as I said, he wont be alone, he may be the only bubba in that square mile, but there are literally thousand upon thousands of other bubbas spread out across the rest of the square miles like fricking mountain lions. Every time you go into a new area in an attempt to outwit one of these snipers youre playing a game of russian roulette.
Id be more worried about the roving bands of confederate jihadists barrelling down the road with a bed full of well armed rednecks.

And I am, principally. I'm not saying I don't fear sniper fire, that would be insane. Just that the tweaked-out (ideologically) rednecks in the Jeeps and Durangos are more of an issue.

>if 60% of deer hunters fail every season
i think that's mostly a matter of not seeing legal deer during legal hours and not because they're missing shots bro
I was going off the assumption that you wouldn't go sniper hunting alone, but I grant you that you won't always be in a prepared group. As for the recon thing... I'm typing this on a smartphone with a FLIR, getting a similar camera onto a quadcopter shouldn't be a big issue for somebody moderately tech-savvy and is indeed sonething I expect to see tested by militaries within the decade.
.416 barret, .408 cheytac and 2 .338 lapua are gonna give me the advantage over 1.5 killometer with no problem we are on the alps not inna woods i have clear sight if you dont wear a ghillie
>there may be people or items in that room you don't want/can't afford to share that fate
That happens for SWAT and maybe SF. In normal war it's a very rare occurence.
Fair point, but limited to military application. The way I understand OP's question he includes civilians practicing it, so there's more room for individual goals.
Uhhh I think it's too far gone at that point, real life isn't a disney movie where the protag kills 40 people and saves the hostage without taking a scratch

Because one of our largest ground operations of the last several decades involved hardcore room clearing. If you’re a marine now chances are you will never fire a shot in combat. If you were a marine 15 years ago you would have been involved in some of the worst urban combat an infantryman can engage in. Lots of “operators” made their bones there and probably got so hardwired to the situation that they could never go back to civilian life after. Fellujah was a pretty defining point in our military history and door kicking is what first world combat boils down to out of fear of gayhot journalists calling you a war criminal (uh oh they do it anyways!)
Because our enemies are more likepy to hunker down in buildings than meet us in open combat on the field of battle so we greyhounds need to go in and root out the rats.
Grenades are basically non-existant so the only real option is to go ted k and risk blowing your hand off or just become a laser pointer and clear places one at a time.
Molotovs are liable to burn you instead if you make them wrong or just throw them badly. A lot of bottles are actually quite hard to shatter good enough to be effective too.
Then theres the idea that you would rather salvage a structure ratjer than just nuke it all into ash.
>Molotovs are liable to burn you instead if you make them wrong or just throw them badly. A lot of bottles are actually quite hard to shatter good enough to be effective too
dont be stupid and test your shit before trying it it isnt a videogame
>Then theres the idea that you would rather salvage a structure ratjer than just nuke it all into ash.
consume all the oxygen until they are out or dead inside using a molotov or a fire inside the ventilation system.
idk how else to do.
>Because our enemies are more likepy to hunker down in buildings than meet us in open combat on the field of battle so we greyhounds need to go in and root out the rats.
>why are some american so interested in room clearing?
Maybe they just can't stop thinking about cops or criminals kicking in their door any minute now, and spend their days obsessed with the idea of rushing into rooms with guns blazing?
Actually, why can their doors even be kicked in? My toilet door is sturdier than that.
Idiots that watched too much high speed low drag youtube content and think that room clearing is a practical thing to do in [fantasy civil war] or for home defense purposes.
I was there in 2005. those days we would just level a building with howitzer fire if you took a certain amount of fire from it. nobody cared, especially if they weren't wearing uniforms. people thought tomahawk missile strikes were awesome, it was a good time. 155mm has a variety of ammo to make sure the buildings don't fire at you anymore, or exist. Literally we would just sit behind a 20ft tall wall the engineers set up and aim mortars, howitzer fire, A-10 CAS when it was available, or Stryker MGS which was the most common option. My perception is that the geneva convention is there to protect us from non uniformed combatants, not cruelty to another soldier. I have never once thought of the iraqi guard as subhuman the way I consider what they ended up becoming.
in 2020 50% of your population are traitors to the flag and will use any excuse to bluehair their way in between you and your objective, which is the complete pacification of any enemy to the united states at any time
or you wait until the guys come out for air and some army rangers/contractors clean house real frickin fast
its a stupid job to sign up for, but I respect the craft

It's actually simple Euroanon, people break into homes and people have to navigate their hallways and shit to shoot the homosexual who broke into their house.
Plus we're getting closer and closer to having a police state, so knowing how to clear rooms will become more important as the police state starts getting more and more bolder with no knocks
>Just go to Court who totally not on the side of the pigs and the government who hate your ass
Nope, I'm accepting the fact that I will be dead but I'll die a free man
>you have to navigate and shoot them!!!
Moronic idea. If there is an actual aggressive home invader this is how you get popped. If someone breaks into your fricking house you take an angle and wait for them to come to you, not the other way around.
Room clearing is a quick way to get killed even if you have a team. If you have no squad you're just asking to die since it's impossible for a single man to peek every angle while entering a room without being exposed to some of them first
>muh layout
You can know the layout perfectly. It doesn't matter. The person holding a defensive position always has the advantage. This is why SWAT teams are teams of guys with heavy armor, shields, flashbangs, tear gas etc. You need all of that shit to tilt the odds in your favor if you don't want to die.
>If someone breaks into your fricking house you take an angle and wait for them to come to you, not the other way around.
Yeah, if you live by yourself. Now imagine you have a family, would you sit still?
Because it's the coolest form of modern combat. I don't want to put in the time and money required to learn long range shooting, first aid, or rigging detonators. I just want to go fast.
Because Operators™, SWAT®, and similar Real Men, LLC. do room clearing in movies, video games, and those news stories about things I romanticize but will never do.
It's because all of these post-2012 new gun owners buy nothing but ARs based on what they see in movies and video games. Next, because they were addicted to social media before they bought their first gun, they succumb to youtube theatrics in which some tattooed bearded man shows some cool method of hosing down targets at 10 yards with a rifle. Then they go to the indoor range nearest their suburban home that's only 35 yards long to practice these techniques. When called out on how ridiculous such a thing is, they fall back on the defense mechanism of claiming it is a practical skill and not knowing how to do so will totally get you killed in a scenario that they have made up. It all comes down to post-2012 tactical Timmys who are only into guns due to politics and fear trying to justify and defend their purchases.
Insurgency gays should be learning how to make IEDs

i m more focused on long range sniping(the alps Will be mine once the guv is dead) but smoke or flashbang arent that difficult to be made effective.
though if we talk about cod i just trowh in some flash or smoke and sprint in with a semi auto shotgun spraying everything that moves
Sniping absolutely has its place, but it relies totally on having line of sight and absolute control over all avenues of approach. glass cutters exist. just score a few lines into your bottle and it'll shatter no problem.

Americans never do that. They hide and wait the airstrikes.

dude we also got the guys who own ar like rifle for home defense but we dont train to fight a swat team alone.

your best bet against a swat are explosives or to surender just saying
They can drag my dead body, frick that shit I ain't surrendering to them
or you can battle yourself in court instead of dying.
>Just go to Court who totally not on the side of the pigs and the government who hate your ass
Nope, I'm accepting the fact that I will be dead but I'll die a free man
>surrendering
Its like you want your butthole raped.
american cops are different from the one in my area.
NTA but if that guy is raided by swat while innocent do you really think he would be able to defend himself in corrupt courts
if you didnt do shit durying the raid its probably that they ll leave on a caution,
than you can enjoy yourself some joy.
Explosives, huh?
>make pipe bomb
>attach it to a string
>swat team activates trap
>some get killed
>other are hurt
>the rest dont understand were they are
a team of 8 will be slowed using this,
but they'll just come back with a robot bomb.
you might want to stay mobile but theu'll find you eventualy
>swat
Swat doesn't stand a chance against anyone who is prepared even in the slightest.
That's why pigs have to resort to total destruction.

just give me a gen3 glock 17 with a tac light and ill clear the room for you, no problem
