its missing a cope cage made out of steel+nickel
it will have a new 1500hp engine
new pneumatic suspension
new battery pack 3.5kw of total power
a new intergrated fcs and gcu
its going to have some form of radar (?) with range of 5km
it will have a lower CoG
it will have a full mfd setup
it will offer 4 mounting position for atgm's
it will offer a modular kit top mounting to launch 20 fpv drones +1 directly connected to the tank for surveillance
its gonna have full link 16 and support for the next gen french tdl m assuming because of their french fdi frigates
Is this supposed to be impressive? You announce this shit the week after the challenger 3’s last prototype rolled off the line and expect to be taken seriously? Where’s the APS? Where’s the upgraded armor? newbies need to get and stay gone
Bong here
It's pretty cool, have a nice day.
dont know about the aps but you have to be blind if you cant see the upgraded armor
You know not everything has to do with the British you homosexual
greek here
the upgrade for the 1a5 wont have aps(at least i havent found anyting related to it)
the upgrade of the 2a4/6 will have not sure if they have revised the design to add more modules at the sides and front
>Why is an upgrade of an obsolute tank not as cool as a newly developed tank?
>ATGM mounted to a tank
North Korea bros... we won
vgh tradition
>4 atgms
>20 fpv drones
homie what the frick
What's the point of retaining the cannon then?
FPVs move at tens of meters per second. ATGMs move at a couple hundred meters per second. APFSDS travels over a kilometer per second.
If you're packing ATGMs (idealy NLOS) and FPVs, you shouldn't be getting within visual range. It seems like a waste of weight especially when you're uparmoring the vehicle.
If you're packing FPVs for reconnaissance and fire correction you can absolutely blast a homie over a hill with the 105, the longest range tank kill in this war IIRC was a 125mm HE shell fired indirectly with a drone spotter
Why would I want to use a FPV for shot correction instead of using the FPV as an FPV?
I just don't understand the point of this when you could easily just convert old Leo 1 hulls to something similar to the Pereh where the cannon is just there for deception. Especially when it's intended to act as an FPV drone controller.
tanks r used for arty too
This is a stupid hill to die on.
"Drones will replace guns" is a stupider hill to die on and apparently the company making this upgrade package agrees. Where's your Leo 1 upgrade package, anon
i didnt intend to die on it
i was actually trying to mention how tanks r used for arty too
105mm shell vs FPV
>better explosive payload for infantry support
>shorter time of flight
>immunity to EWAR, resistant to hard kill countermeasures
>greater magazine depth
>choice of kinetic or explosive effect on target
Not all drones have to be suicide drones, their primary value to the tank will be organic spotting and recon
I don't think you understand.
They're not enlarging the turret or increasing stowage space. So the room for all those FPVs and ATGMs are eating into 105mm stowage room. What's the point of retaining a gun if you're now no longer able to feed it effectively - especially when it comes to indirect fire support? Having the gun for indirect fire is nonsensical unless you're going to start lobbing guided shells that will actually hit your target, at which point they're almost guaranteed to cost more than a FPV.
Even for direct fire this doesn't make much sense since the rest of it's armament is clearly designed for long range and NLOS work. It's not about "drones will replace the gun" it's that it lacks a reason for being on this design.
sorry homie do i open the commanders hatch to release my 20 fpv drones so they can compete in the pidgeon race? no they go on the roof moron
>it will offer a modular kit top mounting to launch 20 fpv drones +1 directly connected to the tank for surveillance
>mounting
dumbass
>let me buy this kit that makes my vehicle nlos
>now let me go and engage things at 800m with the gun
yes that is what i would do when i go to engage things
in my kit that makes my vehicle nlos which i bought
>Royal Ordinance L7
>maximum firing range 4,000m
>So the room for all those FPVs and ATGMs are eating into 105mm stowage room
They're stored externally moron-kun
to be fair greece has no choice on the matter they need to pack as many shit as they can
just look at their version of the fdi and soon to be the fdi xl
for shooting things that aren't T-64+ level tanks, moron. a cannon is great at plinking buildings, mobiks, soft vehicles you don't want to waste an ATGM on, etc. it's got cheap ammo and it's reasonably accurate basically as far as you can see with LOS optics.
are these all going to ukraine?
p8x0
What is an FCU, GCU, MFD and CoG
im assuming he means that firing control and guidance is now one system and doesnt have to rely on the crew to range
you know that would be cool to have 105mm fpv drones fired from the gun
