>endless jokes about “ muh gorrilion failed vdv landings “
>only 3 recorded VDV operations in Ukraine
>1 captured a major airport right outside of Kiev
>other 2 were a failed airport capture and like a squad landing on a hospital in Kharkov
Can we give the VDV a break? As far as airborne troops go they’ve got a decent record
Also
>hundreds of claims and articles about
>muh while vdv wiped out
>meanwhile only 912 confirmed deaths by the BBC out of 40,000 troops
>only 912 confirmed deaths by the BBC out of 40,000 troops
So VDV makes up 10% of confirmed dead. Now how many actually dead Russia has
The capture of Hostomel was pretty brilliant and one of their most successful operations in the north.
VDV also captured Nova Khakovka dam via helicopter assault and allowed the Russians to surround and take Kherson and threaten Zaporozhe.
It's just the rest of the Russian army is a poorly led, disorganized mob.
Can we give the VDV a break?
No. Goal of VDV and Speznaz was to win war in 2 hours like they did in Czechoslovakia and Afghanistan. Capture/kill enemy leadership, take capital under control in 2 hours after war start, gg wp. This is The Russian Way of War, NAFO trannies are seething, google it.
But in Ukraine VDV failed to win like that. They had one job. And this is was not airport capture but Zelenskyi capture.
VDV! Kiai!
Can you go die in a ditch already, kacap?
Capturing and objective and failing to hold it until relieved is still a failure
Good thing they did exactly that then.
>good thing they failed
very cool post
wasn’t that group in kharkov defeated by beat cops
>nearly a year later
>STILL trying to deflect the misfortunes of the Very Dead Vatniks
Why do ziggers insist on fighting these battles over and over again? I think everybody laughing at their frickups in the early days of the invasion permanently mindbroke you gays to the point where you insist on correcting the record and reminding everybody all over again about how an ostensibly "elite" unit didn't brief its troops on a helicopter assault operation until they were in the fricking helicopters.
> Why do ziggers insist on fighting these battles over and over again?
Paid shills
>1 captured a major airport right outside of Kiev
What's the russian definition of 'captured'?
>>1 captured a major airport right outside of Kiev
They dropped on it, and they were very promptly killed by territorial defense boomers with AKs before the Ukrainian army was even ready for action.
>On 24 February 2022, the first day of the 2022 Russian invasion of Ukraine, the airport was attacked and seized by the Russian military. On the day, Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy said "The enemy paratroopers in Hostomel have been blocked, and troops have received an order to destroy them".[1] Later in the day, between 8-10 PM local time (UTC+2) reports surfaced that the airport had been retaken
"Captured" a civilian airport for less than 6 hours and then every single Russian died or surrendered. Interesting use of the word "captured"
reports =/= true. there is no evidence for the vdv being pushed off of the airport
Besides the fact that they weren’t there anymore? Or the dead bodies? Or satellite footage? Or CNN reports? Or the testimony of captured VDV? Or, again, the simple fact that they do not currently hold it?
>Interesting use of the word "captured"
Russia's fantasies are always interesting. Like that propaganda vid about how they could drive all the way to Berlin and conquer most of Europe in a day on the same logic, they could technically deliver the men and material as planned, the propagandists just leave out the part where all their men would be dead by day's end, because Russians don't like to listen to unpleasant truths challenging their delusions of invincibility and strength and they've long given up on facing their own deficiencies when it's easier to cover them up with lies.
>only 3 recorded VDV operations in Ukraine
VDV were used as shock troops in a number of conventional ground attacks in the opening month of the war. It's why there are so many photos of annihilated BTR-D columns.
Rewriting history already?
>w..we only lost one thousand paratroopers (confirmed) and have absolutely jack shit to show for it
yeah
I WILL NOT GIVE ANY FRICKING RUSSIAN SHIT A BREAK BECAUSE IN INTERWAR YEARS THE FRICKING RUSSIAN SHILLS NEVER SHUT THE FRICK UP ABOUT HOW SUPERIOR RUSSIAN SHIT IS, NOW ITS THEIR FRICKING TIME TO FACE REALITY LIKE THE FRICKING CLOWNS THEY ARE.
RUSSIA WILL FOREVER BE THE LAUGHTING STOCK OF HISTORY ALONGSIDE EVERYFRICKING ARMATARD
If by captured a major airport you mean got several of helicopters shot down in the process and then got wrecked by artillery and counterattack and could never use the airport... then sure.
>Can we give the VDV a break?
No. As old poverb from my country say: "Nie pomogą szczere chęci - z gówna bata nie ukręcisz"...
VDV took Popasna, which was literally the only reason Severodonetsk and Lysychansk fell. They also took most of Soledar this week. Not to mention holding onto Kherson for quite a while until they were told to back off. They are the most competent fighting force in Russia by far.
yeah they sure showed those security guards at the airport what they're made of oh boy what a victory
>driven off and exterminated by skeleton crew
>not even a speed bump, accomplished nothing
>did well
For Russians, maybe. Actually functioning non-mongoloids would consider that an irredeemable failure
>Can we give the VDV a break?
Compared to other airborne troops worldwide? No.
Compared to the rest of the Russian Armed Forces? Absolutely.
If for no other reason, than the fact they make Prigozhin seethe over the fact they managed in days what he failed to achieve in months.
