The cops are complicit in this system and actively benefit by creating conditions where they lobby for more resources from the public.
Cops protect criminals from backlash and cops can't actually prevent violent crime. Cops will however hem your ass up for retaliating against criminals and solving question of crime.

Yes it is, my point is that gun control laws don't work. And your anecdote supported my point. No one will ever be able to control the import or export of illicit goods. This nation was always a haven for smugglers and those who sought to traffic in illicit goods outside of import duties. We have our entire nation's history of attempts at prohibition and control of certain goods, and it has never worked once.

You're just proven you need national gun laws because gun runners can just smuggle anything they want from states with lax gun laws.

Private gun ownership is illegal, so it's a high profit, low risk environment for professional criminals. Where I live, guns are common and gunfire is common because people are shooting for fun. We have nearly zero property crime and almost no break-ins. The last one was 3 teens at a house of a 75 year old man. went into his basement and came up the basement stairs to get into the house. First one was shot in the chest with a .22LR rifle and he fell into the others who were shot but escaped and were caught later. Home owner was a Vietnam vet. Oops.

All security needs is a radio/cell phone, if it's an armed position then a vest and duty gun in retention holster.

Same thing here but some positions are armed (certain hospital posts, armored car, etc). Regardless of armed/unarmed most security guards I've worked with or knew were always rejects or retired and had a bizarre chip on their shoulder where they needed to convince themselves that they were anything but mediocre. I'm glad I left security and got into corrections so I can bullshit with murderers all day.

Though i only did unarmed, didn't have the patience for the hoops to get into the armed segment, especially with the minimal pay increase it would've been.
