Durable pants

I use the same 501s everyday and for everything (including PrepHole), but they always tear from the crotch/arse and at some point become
unrepairable. Whats a good pant or jeans that lasts for years and looks "normal"? Overheating wont be and issue.

          >Doesn't wear leggings
Your balls may eventually drop but you'll never be a man until you can wear leggings up the mountain.

Also this. If you can't sew a handkerchief into a Gers you're a shit tailor.

    Are these the “Stretch” fabric?

I was having the same issue with American Eagle jeans that were a stretch denim fabric. I probably ripped around 3 jeans in the same area.

I switched to Levi’s with a natural no stretch denim and I haven’t had a problem since. I also wonder if it had to do with the fit, the jeans that ripped had a slightly tighter fit around the thighs.

No, 100% cotton. Things just break eventually. Looser fit could help, I'd also prefer a button fly.

It's hard to buy jeans that don't have stretchy cheap shit built in, which are presumably to decrease wear and pander to obese people. Try to stretch the fabric in your hand, if it stretches put it back.

nylon is WAY stronger if you can deal with the swish swish sound while walking.
get nylon pants with a gusseted crotch for climbing if you never want a blowout again.

normal jeans will blow out eventually too, just slower.

Moleskin and duck canvas are more durable than denim so you could try pants with that.

this suggestion is good too. tighter woven cotton is way stronger than denim.

almost all higher end stuff is stretch free. wrangler is a good source for cheap strong denim.

I really like wearing Prana stretch Zions, they have a small cargo pocket but it lies flat and doesn't look weird. Not great for going through thorns but otherwise very comfy and quick drying. I've had the same two pairs for three years now. I also like pants from Kuhl, I started wearing them when I was an arborist, they hold up better than Carhartt in my experience and are a more comfortable fabric

the new material prana switched to isnt as good.
prana brion is a zion but cut like a pair of 5 pocket jeans. love em.
wrangler and dickies sell stuff similar to the old zions.

carhartt. or make your own. make nice patches BEFORE your jeans rip. double up high stress areas FIRST. then change patches, as required. but carhartts are dece.

Carhartt is the most liberal reddit normie brand of work wear. . .
Like what a 20 year old staples employee who thinks they're a "blue collar hard worker" would wear

They make really nice double fronted pants with a knee pad slot. I don't care about identity politics. They became popular as a fashion statement in both cities and rural areas. It's weird to see a guy using it as town clothes in a big city like Chicago, but I really like those pants and don't really give a frick whatever other people do with their lives.

You’re just as big a gay as any city troony if you let them dictate what pants you wear. Carhartts are great for PrepHole

      This
The reason your pants rip at the crotch is because your legs rub together and the material wastes away. You can have your pants reinforced with extra fabric and it will help it last longer.

its also exacerbated by sweat and not washing your jeans frequently. dried sweat weakens cotton and the crotch area's the first to go because it sees all the abrasion. never ride a bicycle in jeans you care about.

Dickies relaxed fit double knee work pants, incredibly comfortable, loose in the waste but a quality belt fixes that, and can stand up to anything, just yesterday my belt loop caught a door latch and I damn near ripped it off the wall with no damage to the pants. they are also reasonable hydrophobic being made of primarily nylon, so they dry quickly. I've worn one pair nearly everyday for 3 years in various jobs, including being a dishwasher, a cook, a security guard (patrolling woods around a facility on foot) and a private investigator. And they haven't even lost a thread

    >pic rel, the new pair I bought this week for my bug out bag, will do a side by side comparison when I get home

Doesn’t get any better than these.
Literally the only trousers I wore nearly every day for 12 years. Eventually I left them wet outside a few days and they went moody.

My kuhl pants remained in good condition until I started dunking them in salt water everyday, but the Vietnamese lady I take them to has been able to repair them every time. My favorite pants I own.

Kuhl works great for me. they are great for bushwacking. quiet but tough and abrasion resistant. Walk thru thorns and prickers no problem.
