Looking at buying a DSA FAL right now, this is the model that I'm thinking.
I've heard the rifles are fine, that magazines are the problem.
What have you guys heard? Does anyone have one?

I built a better, forged receiver version in my friend’s garage over a few beers and an hour of my time and for $550 less.
The plastic mags suck pretty hard but are ok for range use.
Dipshit
>T. Poors too stupid to build their own
>You're poor if you dont bubba up one yourself for cheaper rather than paying 1875 dollars
Can you stop being schizophrenic and moronic for a second?
>This moron doesn’t know how to operate a wrench and a vise
Maybe your mom will buy you one when you’re old enough, meanwhile I’ll enjoy my forged Imbel FAL
Oh Im sorry, I didn't realize you were actually mentally ill and just spewing words out with no thought.
Lmao, struggling to type out a message between classes zoomzoom?
You really think highly of yourself, expecting people to immediately reply. If only your drunken butcherwork that makes Century look good reflected your ego.
>this moron thinks you can make a FORGED reciever out of a wrench and vice
HOLY KEK BE BLESSED BE MY SIDES
Also OP yes, fals are great but imo Inch patterns are the better design (for mags) as their mags have a welded lip as opposed to the cheap punched hole of metric mags. It's just a b***h to find inch mags.
Sure you did
DSA is fine, get some surplus mags though as the polymer mags are indeed dogshit. You can still kit build a FAL for a bit less but you'll need to look around.
>over twice the price of a G3
Shit that's dumb. Get the more accurate and sexy rifle. PTR91s are cheap and there's even cheaper Century builds. Nobody is getting decent FALs anymore, you missed that window by 20+ years.
I am about as skeptical about PTR as I am about nu-DSA, I think a safe bet is to avoid post-coof manufacture of either brand. If you do get a PTR, avoid the ones in the "bad" serial number range with shallow flutes. Also the covid-era GIR and GIRK are probably also shoddy.
I had one of their early Steyr builds, it was great. All my mags were surplus though, which might have had something to do with it. I wound up selling it to a cousin because I preferred my HK-91 and I already had a ton of HK mags.
They were better before all the American tooling, if you can get one of the old builds with FN parts or an LMT/Steyr lower then DSA is good
Holy digits
I have one. The rifle is great, but the mags are pretty shitty so you'll want to buy a few steel mags
Should have known better than to ask a question concerning one half of the eternal BR shitfest, especially during daytime. DSA is fine, you're paying for modern manufacturing and assembly whatever that is worth. Get some steel mags and it'll shoot like any other FAL with the added benefit of not having to lurk a bunch of boomer forums to find a kit thay isn't marked up to high hell because of muh Rhodeisa or muh reel fuggin NATO, just don't expect sub 3 moa out of a cold war era battle rifle.
Yeah sure if you want to give your money to chicago israelites and have an Out Of Spec rifle. Go right ahead.
My huefal runs dsa mags no problem. Give them business since they make great guns in Illinois and our fat frick governor has essentially put them out of business in Illinois.
Yea that must be a punishing existence to operate out of that state. I've heard they make pretty nice ARs
Can you give a link? All I get is Indian shit when I search for it.
The irony is I can no longer buy their mags as an Illinois resident. Their site is
https://www.dsarms.com/
when cuckifornia had their "freedom week" or whatever, i tried to order a bunch a bunch of mags from them and they still wouldn't send them. they're b***hes and their rifles are out of spec.
My cousin did a fabrication job for the owner of DSA. He said he was a standup guy and even let him keep a bipod (the factory they bought from put the arms on backward, so my cousin had to drill out the pins and repin them correctly. He did that over 1,000 times) which were valued at like $100. From my understanding, they make good rifles, as well as they need the business because our moronic Gov decided to neuter Illinois gun rights (which basically has given the nogs a field day on regular folk).
