Does the average /k/ommando not shoot their guns? I barely ever see brass marks near the ejection port on guns posted here, and that's not something you can really just clean up
Does the average /k/ommando not shoot their guns? I barely ever see brass marks near the ejection port on guns posted here, and that's not something you can really just clean up
>Terminally online basement dwelling morons
>Going outside and shooting
Such a thing is not possible, I'm afraid.
People here either can't afford/own guns, or they're the autistic sort who own so many guns they only shoot each one once a year tops.
Truth spoken, Unheard.
I thought I would shoot a lot when I was saving for my first gun, but once I owned guns I stopped caring. I still appreciate them technically, but the act of shooting gets boring quick and organizing a trip is just a burden. It was fun to magdump an AR once, but then every consecutive mag made me acutely aware of the cost per round I was burning through.
>he fell for the AR meme
luh mayo
This. If ammo was dort cheap again people would shoot more frequently. The price hikes have pushed people away from enjoying it anymore, how can you?
>how can you
by shooting something more fun than an AR with no recoil.
Ive owned and shot plenty of "battle rifles". The larger caliber didn't make up for the loss in accuracy.
>muh X rifle gits 1 moa with X ammo!
Ssshhhh. I don't believe you.
All I shoot now is an ar. If that gets boring for you maybe try competing. Pushing the distance can also be challenging. Known target/unknown distance is still king.
>The larger caliber didn't make up for the loss in accuracy.
>.308 is a lot of recoil
Christ weeps. if you shot anything but ARs maybe guns would be more fun for you.
>If that gets boring for you maybe try competing. Pushing the distance can also be challenging. Known target/unknown distance is still king.
Not really. If you have 50/200 yard zero and can consistently hit in the 0-300 yard range, it's all just put it center mass for any of the tactical competitions. Those rarely go over 100 yards for any shot and almost all are cqb distances under 50 yards. Tactical competitions are all about technique and weapon manipulation.
If long distance, stationary shooting, it's long boring event my OCD won't let me sit through. As long as rifle is properly zeroed and don't jerk off your trigger, basic b***h irons are fine. Most of the people with high powered scopes are just casuals that cant figure out guessing distances by object height ratios so think it's magic to do memorize precalculated algebra and trigonometry for key distances.
Dem strategy, price people out of guns and shooting. Make it prohibitively expensive. Expensive and time consuming permits. The threat of having to get insurance that's expensive as frick has always been pushed. The banning of lead bullets, will make bullets more expensive so peasants won't shoot as much and so on and so on. Their insane plans to tax bullets have already been tried in what was it Washington or Oregon, taxing ffl's forcing them to close etc. They're trying to make it hurt so you don't do it.
That has nothing to do with ammo prices. Current ammo prices have everything to do with ammo manufacturers refusing to scale up production so they can charge more. It's literally in their financial interest to keep supply limited.
Most gun companies would never do that, its in their best interest to give us good pricing and service. An industry so tied to its cause would never willing gouge its customers. The firearms indfustry is probably the most consumer friendly (or they would be if not tied down by regulations) and actually looks out for the people buying their products unlike just about every other industry out there. The other anon is right and its legislation that is causing all of these price hikes.
Factory ammo isn’t even more expensive. The ~~*official*~~ inflation from 2019 to now is 22.6%. Paying 25cpr for 9mm is 31cpr today. 40cpr for 5.56 is 49cpr today. Primers and powder are fricked for reloaders and it drives me nuts, but most factory ammo has kept pace with inflation or slightly behind if anything. The 2017-2018 golden years was from selling off excess built up for the 2016 election. 2020-2021 prices were from the gay overreaction to the coof. Ammo isn’t cheap but it’s not worse than it used to be. The real issue is everything is more expensive and people aren’t being paid more, so ammo comes second to other necessities.
>40cpr for 5.56 is 49cpr today.
Most of Europe went from 40cpr to 60cpr or more
I have no .223 ammo whatsoever in the house now because a box costs an arm and a leg
This is why bought a .22lr ar-15 for training
I use the CMMG conversion bolt and its ok, but frick the mags it came with.
I shoot mine, barely post my guns though. Most people these days use guns for posing for pics and the occasional range trip, few people in the modern consumer market actually """""""need""""""" most modern offerings. People buy shit to flex and share it, so let em.
>inb4billofneeds
>inb4anoncantinb4
>inb4testiculartorsion
Jokes on you, I already have testicular torsion. Please fricking kill me.
Also modern ammo prices and the current economics. Its an election year with 2 wars and a massive rearmament going on, so ammo prices are up.
It's crazy how comments like this show you how some people are uncreative npc's
>AR
Lmao get memed on, enjoy your boring lego set.
>Enjoy your modern rifle that shoots accessible ammo accurately, reliably and ergonomically and does everything a modern rifle needs to do from kill deer to clap uniforms and Black folk
Dude I hate you "be different" mfs so bad
This. Have to be an idiot if not going to choose the AR for any real world application. The rest are all just glorified range toys.
>world application
such as shooting paper at the range on a sunny day?
This Black person doesn't shoot varmints. Bet he doesn't even own nv or thermals.
Agree sort of but ultimately the AR is boring as frick
I have one and barely shoot it, my AK, FAL and bolt actions see a lot more range time
AKs are no different to ARs. Just a bit more expensive to put a good optic on.
Just point and shoot, no recoil.
They're only nicer because cleaning is quick and simple.
They're infinitely more challenging to shoot because of the sights and general ergonomics
I like it that way
Ergos are ergos.
If you shoot an AK more, you'll complain about the AR's ergos. And vice-versa.
Put a Holosun on either, and they'll both shoot the same.
Myself I like to shoot AKs because they take like 2 minutes to clean no matter how hard you beat one.
Cleaning after a range trip is the worst part.
>Ergos are ergos.
No they aren’t. Practice matters more, but a rifle with better ergos can be shot better than one without.
>If you shoot an AK more, you'll complain about the AR's ergos.
"No"
My Saiga has absolute shit ergonomics even if I prefer it over my AR
I agree with you, my AR feels like a toy, and it’s boring to shoot. I prefer my commie guns.
>burden. It was fun to magdump an AR once, but then every consecutive mag
Have you ever thought of doing something besides mag dumping?
Mag dumping is boring unless you're with friends. Shoot for accuracy.
i fall into the latter camp and am only mildly ashamed of it. i also am autistic enough to keep my shit beyond clean, but given some of them are from like 1903 i think it's justified.
no, just the average general poster.
>that's not something you can really just clean up
Almost every commercially available gun cleaning oil dissolves copper.
Brass marks on the deflector literally just wipe off with a cloth soaked in CLP.
This is the most nonsensical autistic pet peeve /k/ has.
My c93 clones are very accurate with the HK drum sights so they're kind of boring to shoot at the 200 yard range. All my odd balls I don't take out too much mainly because part replacement will be so expensive if I can even find the part. I end up taking my AR the most.
Nah, I don’t own any guns. Not really appropriate when ya got a family. I just come here to piss the vatniks off.
>noguns
>admits to being a nafo troon
Pottery.
Is it fun replying to yourself?
>Nah, I don’t own any guns. Not really appropriate when ya got a family.
Bait or just dumb? Buy a gun safe that isn't a cheap Chinesium piece of shit if you wanna keep kids or your crazy shizo uncle out of it dude.
Just avoid '''Liberty safe''' because of that bullshit they pulled, Sturdy safe and Pendleton is cool though.
/K/um-&-Dough's respect nature and always pick up their brass an shot shells before leaving or taking photo's, that's why.
You sound like my dad. Frick you. You should be teaching your kids how to shoot
Okayish bait 5/10
moron
>I have things to defend so I shouldn't defend them
My only gun that leaves brass marks on the dust cover is my L1A1
I don't usually take pics from that side because the s/n is located there
>posts gun that us known for shooting empty cases into orbit.
Do you know what you're talking about? Some guns don't get dinged up others do depends on a couple of things.
Internet people don't actually shoot usually. Know that the weirdo harassing you for your choice of optic probably is one of the following:
-destitute poorgay who doesn't own any of the optics or guns in question
-turbo autist with some money who owns all of these but doesn't actually shoot
There are some legit normal people around but you're better off assuming the person you're talking to is a weirdo without valid opinions
>posts google stock image
>asks if other people shoot their gun
janitors, attend.
Lol this. "I don't even see muh brass marks on ur guns anons"
>stock image
Okay, so OP needs to post his; he has brass marks, right?
>2019 to now
Well before everything went sky high I remember:
>9mm as low as 19cpr if not lower, often hovering around 20cpr
>.223/5.56 often 30-some cpr, about mid 30s
And
>The real issue is everything is more expensive and people aren’t being paid more
So not that I 100% agree or disagree with either of you, there's your biggest issue. Inflation may not mean anything if you get paid more. But if you don't get paid more inflation might as well mean you get paid whatever percent less than you used to which cuts into the budget for something somewhere.
Any anon bored of shooting just stop flat ranging. Compete in matches. Go in the wilderness with gear. It helped me get over my hump. Also, stop consoooming.
>and that's not something you can really just clean up
Kek not true at all. It easily wipes off
Is your next stop PrepHole to ask why car guys don't have 300,000 miles on their supras?
I deliberately wipe down my guns before taking any pics just to frick with autists like OP. Like anyone gives af about proving you shoot to others
Imagine being so insanely insecure that you never clean your brass deflector out of fear that a stranger online will accuse you of never shooting your rifle.
>stock image of a gun
This is hugeeeee cope.
>t. terminally online manchild hyper obsessed with what strangers think of him
You probably browse /arg/, don't you.
The real reason basements dwellers living in a middle of nowhere flyover states with populations of 100 people don't think about is that 99% of americans don't own fricking land and neither have an outdoor range near them, and going to an indoor one is torture.
>Literally wipes off with a dry rag
Kill self noguns
Why don't you post yours first?
I shoot like 4 to 6 times a year just to maintain proficiency with all my guns, but anymore than that just feels like I'm wasting money.
I shoot like 7k rounds a year
I shoot twice a month but only shoot one gun per trip and rarely use more than 2 boxes of ammo. Sadly I'm stuck with indoor ranges cause I don't have land nor is there public land to shoot on in my state.
That sounds boring
Move
Where? Lots of people already had the idea to move to western states so now those states are exploding in population.
I haven't shot much since the ammo market went israeli. Not going to until prices come down. It's not a fun hobby when you know you're pissing away whole paychecks. I just get my basic skill refreshers done and get on with my day, most of which are dry fire or movement drill based anyway.
i'm hopeful the eurowar shit continues to incentivize arms manufacturing in the US so prices drop across the board and the cheap options are no longer idf or aus surplus.
>I haven't shot much since the ammo market went israeli. Not going to until prices come down.
They're never coming down.
The market didn't actually jack prices compared to their expenses.
The issue is that the price of everything went up, but you (like most people with mid range income) aren't getting paid more to compensate.
See
Inflation adjusted it’s not worse and real inflation is understated. Ammo is never coming back down appreciably. Reloading supplies on the other hand are extremely overpriced
Used to about once a month. Then all my shooting buddies moved away. I live in a far left urban haven, and can’t find any shooting enthusiasts anymore. Sucks.
All the public spots got shut down. I shoot my handguns at the range once a week
>All the public spots got shut down. I shoot my handguns at the range once a week
Vermont in current year+8?
Total Flatlander Death, they turned Vermont into Massachusetts/New York.
it's like owning a lot of anything, when you do, you simply don't have the time to use all of them
where i live, theres basically no ranges for anything not chambered in a pistol caliber or skeet, and theres no public land that you can just shoot on
the few ranges that are rifle / buckshot accessible, are either 50 to 100 miles away, private, require prior booking, or are only open at a shit time
ammo cost isn't really fun either, and weekends are usually when i got a lot of shit to do too, so with everything combined, i just find myself having a gun because its cool, and never actually shooting it
the few guns i got laying around for defense, i know work, so i'm too miffed at it i guess
The average non banned /k/ member works at an air force base and/or is a terminally addicted redditor
Personally I'm in a country with not too bad ownership laws so have a few rifles but annoyingly my local range closed down during COVID and it's a ball ache to find and commute to another range.
So I enjoy finger fricking my guns, they're in the house if someone breaks in to find out the hard way, got loads of cartridges gathering dust.
I go shooting maybe once a month. Shit's expensive.
>I barely ever see brass marks
easy to prevent, I've got another rifle with the same round count as this one and barely a scratch thanks to some layers of tape put on before shooting.
That’s really unfortunate.
Based eurochad actually shooting his guns
Virgin burger with cylinder timing streak still pristine
Not my gat m8
I never shoot because I can't afford the ammo anymore. $15-20 each mag is unreasonable
^
This. Am poorgay. I shoot a lot of .22LR right now though. And maybe 9mm.
1-3 times a year, I don't do the extremely autistic "you need to go through 5 mags every 6 hours or else you're not a Real Gun Owner" mindset like some people here have
I buy dumpy PSA guns and go through a couple hundred bucks in ammo every month.
>buying cheap guns
>spending all the surplus cash on ammo
this is the way.
Unfortunately the average /k/tard is a euro plant seething that Russia will absorb their country sooner or later and not Americans that enjoy firearms.
Of the American posters most of them are COVID tourists that bought a gun during the pandemic and spend their time trying to justify their purchase by repeating what guntubers tell them and then malding at people who actually use their stuff.
Post your shitty revolver again will you
I have no clue who you're talking about but I do in fact have. Ashitty revolver sitting here atm
Most of the outdoor ranges by me are shit, it's like people only ever open them exclusively for the use of the owner and his five friends.
>membership only range
>can't even enter the property without membership
>refuse to give tours
>refuse to send pictures of the range
The only one that isn't like this only allows shooting from a bench, no rapid fire, etc. Better than nothing, I guess.
Be the change you wanna see in the world anon, open up your own fun allowed non fudd range off the beaten path with basic easy to follow rules like don't leave trash laying around before leaving and bring a med kit (yeah you should have your own med kits always on the property too but redundancy isn't bad), then charge a small fee to enter and allow a minimum of two or three (depending on how may lanes you have to spare, how big your property is) to be reserved and rented for a whole day for groups and you can just put some traffic cones down for those range lanes on any given day and store said cones in a shed when not in use.
Maybe have a student discount for young lads who aren't retired an have hedge funds and several rental properties to fallback on too.
Also have a website deigned by someone who isn't incompetent, one that is ideally not full of Java script, Facebook and Google shit and load it with all sorts of photo's and videos and geography info to let people know what they're paying for and what to expect.
Also you could probably get a vending machine with all sorts of yummy healthy snacks and bottled water in them and israelite up the prices by a few dollars if you want since it won't be your fault if the people visiting forgot to bring their own lunch and water. Pic related, these things are fricking delicious and you should add them, also they have no seed oils so add them anon.
>inb4 why specifically healthy snacks though? Any reason I shouldn't just stuff it with snickers and tasty cakes?
Do you want someone having a heart attack on your property miles away from a hospital anon?
All you need is land and a tall berm really, make your dreams come true.
I shoot on private land in a hay field, so until it gets cut and baled, my rifles are taking a break.
