Do MRAPs have any place on the battlefield? I think it gives a false sense of security. Just go back to light fast jeeps that can be mass produced.
Maybe stick to selling them to tactical police to intimidate civilians.

why are you fricking moronic? The point of modern MRAPs is to protect against 14.5mm rounds and IEDs, and offer survivability against RPGs through compartmentalization and cage armor.
They can be "mass produced". The US Army alone has tens of thousands in service right NOW.
>protect against 14.5mm
That's a dumb standard. Why not 105mm?
If you're protected against 14.5mm you're probably protected against 105mm shell fragments. If you mean 105mm AP, first of all who the frick is still using that, and secondly why are driving your APCs into tanks?
Make sure it's protection from 14.5mm and not 14.5mm of armor which is a trick General Dynamics tried to pull.
They protect against 50cal or equivalent but its not like you'd want to sit there under sustained fire because something would eventually pretty quickly give way.
Because 12.7 and 14.5mm weapons are incredibly prolific and inexpensive, there are literal millions of DShK and M2s floating around
>12.7 and 14.5mm weapons are incredibly prolific
How many times did Iraqi insurgents use either of those calibers?
a lot
Could have been Syria.
A lot, in both Afghanistan and Iraq.
Fricking moron
They used PKMs and RPGs. The heavy machine guns were just mud caked crap that was hauled out of weapons caches.
>The heavy machine guns were just mud caked crap that was hauled out of weapons caches.
This applies both to Iraq and the current Russian Army.
Thanks to the Soviets, they are literally everywhere in huge quantities.
>MRAP gets half it's wheels blown off
>bulletproof glass clearly held after repeated strikes
>crew probably survived
Seems the MRAP worked exactly as intended. You're right that they're not IFVs and shouldn't be used as such, but they're perfectly fine APCs. An M113 wouldn't take artillery any better.
>An M113 wouldn't take artillery any better.
It wouldn't peel off the armor.
That's paint, moron.
It's tape!
OH NO THE EXTERIOR METAL ARRAY WAS DAMAGED
who fricking cares
are you mentally moronic? Actually fricking moronic?
The Iraqis had LOADS of BTR-60s with 14.5mm guns, DSHK 12.7mms and limited numbers of 12.7x108 sniper rifles.
that’s paint you moron
>It wouldn't peel off the armor.
yeah, the tinfoil armor is pealed,
the crew died from the 5G waves
what a fricking moron...
>Posts a video of an MRAP with a intact and unpenetrated crew compartment
>dO MrBrAPs HavE A pLAcE On thE baTTlEfiElD?
>MrBraps
Imagine the smell
>stop putting so much effort into survivability!
>be a fun zerg race like russia!
Iraqis with any bullet bigger than 7.62 was virtually unheard of before ISIL took over.
I can look up Dshks in use by Iraq insurgents in the 2000s RIGHT NOW you bait posting moron
Do it gay.
>Although the Kalashnikov was the most prevalent firearm on the battlefield, many other firearms were encountered. Like most Islamic Insurgencies the main armaments utilized were the AK-47/AKM, FN FAL rifles, G-3 rifles, SVD sniper rifles, RPK light machine guns, PKM General Purpose MGs, RPG-7 rocket assisted grenade launchers and SPG-9 recoilless rifles as well as the DSHK heavy MG and ZU-23-2 anti-aircraft gun. Most of these weapons were of various origins that where common for their type.
This just from Fallujah alone.

Again with the cached weapons.
what are you implying?
No they don't, Russia should hand over all their Tigr's & Typhoons to Ukraine right now as a goodwill gesture and replace them with the mighty UAZ-469 and Breads since fast reliable vehicles are so much better.
I liked my MaxxPro. It was a big upgrade from the soft side and later homebrew armored Humvees we used first time around.
in the west we like to keep soldiers alive against IEDs and small arms fire
Bait.
Idk, I'd feel pretty safe inside that thing,
Surprised the old bushmaster held up someone other than goatfarmers
>took some damage and got parked in store house (probably for field repairs)
>HURR DURR, IT'S USELESS
it literally served its purpose, you dipshit
>vehicle is rekt
>crew is fine
MRAPs clearly have a place on the battlefield and my preferred place is inside them.
You can take the jeep.
MRAPs being immune to small arms makes them somewhat useful when combined with remote turrets. So long as you quickly take out anyone with an RPG, it's gravy time.
