Diy varicose vein treatment?

Got a varicose vain on my calf that I've had for years now that first became apparent when I was in 12th grade. It didn't give me any problems up until about 5 years ago where since then I experience some discomforting pain on and off. Its not even visible when sitting down but standing up or walking itll show.
Lately I've been giving a compression sock a try but I don't even know if its making a difference but to be fair I'm not very consistent with wearing it because I forget all the time to put it on before I go out.

Anywho, has anyone here ever had this issue and found a diy solution. I don't want to have to get surgery since I have shitty insurance and iirc the surgery usually doesn't resolve the issue and can even make it worse
Picrel is an example close to how mine looks

The compression socks are key, they should be worn every-day and adapt them into your routine, but by themselves aren't enough to help.
When resting elevate your legs with a pillow just above level with your heart (I'm assuming you also have ankle edema, which is the most common cause of discomfort in people with varicose veins).
begin exercising to strengthen the calf, increase blood flow to the legs and to lose weight. (at least walk 10 minutes to avoid worsening your legs).
    good luck

Do you think all the compression sock brands are the same? I got the ones I have from CVS. They aren't the prescription ones. And its kind of difficult for me to sleep with my legs elevated since I move around a lot in my sleep and at the moment I can't afford a fancy mechanical bed frame that lifts up.
As for my ankle I don't have this edema condition and if I lose anymore weight I'll be underweight then

Well since you haven’t researched the surgery and decided without educating yourself on it that it isn’t for you, and won’t commit to wearing the socks, what exactly do you think anyone is going to tell you that will be of use to you? My varicose veins are far better but I was committed to taking action.

Not trying to be a dick but at the same time I’ve had too many personal experiences with people that ask for help but don’t follow through to not be tired of this shit.

If you ever want to get serious then just use google and educate yourself with reputable sources. good luck anon.

To be frank with you man I get so queasy when I research in depth of the varicose vein. Something about blood and veins just kinda freaks me out. Everytime I go get a physical from the doctor and they draw my blood, my face turns cold and I almost faint looking at my blood squirt inside the tube. I try to look away but at the same time want to make sure its going well and is over and done with. If I get a cut or whatever and bleed it doesn't matter, but thinking about my veins and blood is unsettling for some reason

Other than compression stockings, you can take diosmin tablets for a couple months each year. That and moving your legs, avoiding work where you stand in one place a lot, pretty much exhausts the conservative management.
Compression stockings should have compression grade to compare strength. You should always wear them when you are sitting or standing in one place for longer periods.

Should the compression socks ever contribute to pain? Sometimes when I wear the sock for Two long i can get a mix of a numbing feeling or a bit a pain. And like I said this pain thing is on and off. Like for the past few months it has been fine but recently this discomfort/pain has returned lately. I do both a lot of standing and sitting for work

You have to get the right size. Should probably buy from a medical supplies store where the sellers can get you the right size.

My grandma took a pill for inflammation and they all went away within a few days. She had a ton of them too for like 20 years up until a few months ago.
If you don't want to talk to your doctor about which anti-inflammatory pills might fix it (I don't remember the name), then maybe try having two table spoons of olive oil a day, it's supposed to be anti-inflammatory.
I'll ask my mom what the pills were that my grandma took and report back, OP. Hope you're still lurking this thread.
