reminds me of that cyberdeck fad from last year or two

looks and sounds cool but completely useless from a functionality standpoint

Isn't the closest thing to a cyberdeck just the smartphone that's in most people's pockets?

        >arm shit
homie get you any freescale imx.6 board, multicore support with extremely low battery consumption in low-power mode. You only hate arm because it's actually designed for the application you have but you want a childishly underpowered x86 that is also less efficient.

just use a raspberry pi like a normal person. or one of those other mini soc boards. repackaging a laptop into a smaller housing is going to be very, very difficult unless you can figure out exactly how to make it do what you need it to do just by looking at the board. if you're also the guy complaining about arm, get over it you moron, everything is going to arm and if you don't like it then discard every portable device made after 2015. arm is everywhere and it's oriented toward mobile applications, it works well, just like x86 works great for desktops. no, there is no reason that it should be this way. no, there is no reason why you should be boxed in one way or the other. no, you cannot change this unless you start lobbying companies to make an x86 soc that's available to the public for the same or lower price as their arm equivalent. or you can use one of those $3000 mini boards with the programmable architecture.

These little Lenovos are cheap and 64bit Intel. You can also often get great 2nd hand deals on thinkpads because businesses buy them in bulk as work computers and then sell them for cheap when they upgrade.
