Oh man I know exactly what I would do ever seen the MTV Cribs where Motocross rider Carey Hart has a bed hanging from the ceiling with chains with white sheets and it looks like him and his old lady smeared red paint on themselves and did the deed on it? Fuckin awesome
Machine washable Japanese style futon, but thicker since we don't use tatami floors. Put it on a machine washable rug. Wash both every few weeks. Pick it up not daily but whenever you want the space.
The problem with air mattresses is that they're a non-breathable surface, like a vinyl car seat or a leather couch. It just reflects all your body heat right back into you and you sweat like a mother fucker. Any time I've had to sleep on an inflatable mattress I've woken up just drenched with sweat.
I built a loft platform for my bed so I could have full size dressers and storage space below it in my small room. Next step is making stair-drawers at the bottom.
I built mine out of 6 IKEA shelf's, I didn't want to buy a 600$+ raised bed so I spent less than 200 just making my own. I wanted a little hidy hole that I could escape too and a bunch of storage space.
I had all 6 shelf's lines up then put a half inch slap of wood on top and screwed them into the shelfs so the mattress wouldn't sink in.
pros:
-never creaks (even during rough sex)
-have a makeshift panic room underneath
-high off the ground so I don't get kinked by passing rats
-upgradeable
-chicks think it's cool
-ambient lighting
-got 6 shelfs and if I get a bigger mattress I get another shelf
cons:
-broke my collarbone in a motorcycle accident and had to sleep on the floor for 2 days cuz I couldn't hop in bed
-chick feel down and chipped her tooth
-old cat needs to jump from carpet>chair>desk>PC>bed and that breeds chaos
-was told it's autistic
>chicks think it's cool >"It doubles as a makeshift panic room"
[X] Doubt >get kinked by passing rats
Is this a British thing? >ambient lighting
Yeah, of course you need artificial lighting after blocking most of the outside light with a massive structure in front of the window.
Since we're talking 'tism, I built this net bed to a) avoid mattresses since I can't wash them and that feels wrong to me and b) pretend that I am a deckhand while I drift off.
But there's the whole rest of the mattress that can get musty and dusty.
I think it's safe to assume you sleep alone in that bed, it looks pretty cool though ngl
Do you use a pillow? Or sheets?
Generally alone, yes. I have slept with company in it and it was received well as a novelty, but I don't think it would be reasonable for two people on the regular. It kind of forces you to cuddle because of the way it dips in the middle.
I use a blanket or two underneath me for padding and more as covers. It's kind of like a spacious hammock so I don't really need a pillow.
bed i made 6 years ago. holding up great, no squeaks, all dowels for the box and lid, platform style. just heavy as a bitch, and lumber is way more expensive now, so adjust accordingly. i did it in pine with a dark varnish
Just get a rollable mattress with some pillows.
Ask me how I know OP has never slept with a woman.
Because your his gay bottom?

you can get a decent air mattress for like $30 at menards and it will be comfy as heck

If you put a blanket under you or under the bedsheet it takes care of a lot of that.
