Let's be real here, this thing is not a practical gun, nor does it have any illusions of being such. It is simply a way of turning money into noise and fireballs, and for that purpose it's ideal.
Anon.. just wait till midnight.. go outside, shoot it in a general safe direction then book it back inside.. make a 911 call saying a frickloud noise woke you up.. that’s too many years man…
You are about to but something expensive that has virtually no other use than turning dollars in light and noise. If that's your thing than more power to ya, but you may look back 12 months later and say to yourself "how many boomers did I eat that day?"

I mean, as fpbp said it actually would be a pretty hilarious hd weapon and might even work. However that said: >virtually no other use than turning dollars in light and noise >It is simply a way of turning money into noise and fireballs
Dunno about OP, but I find it mildly ironic that fireworks are actually far more restricted in my state (lots of restrictions, most fun stuff banned entirely, even firecrackers were for awhile) than 50bmg (zero restrictions of any kind beyond private range rules, but you can just shoot on your own land, friend's land, state land, or national forest), and more expensive too. Compared to good 'ol cherry bombs, m80s, roman candles, small mortars and other fun stuff from my childhood that's all banned some 50bmg noise&light maker doesn't even seem that expensive from a cpr point of view, though obvious the upfront gun cost is high and you can't just shoot it into the air.
>you probably don't have a range nearby that allows 50bmg
Do "people" really live places where you can't drive half an hour to shoot wherever you want?
You don't want to use fast-burning powders in 50 BMG. Not only will you attain much lower velocities than slower-burning powder, you will hit pressure limits at much lower case fill % than with slow burning ones. Even very slow burning long rifle powders like Reloader 25 or Magnum
just get a 20" or longer version of the same 50 cal
Breech loader 50s are painfully slow to load, impractical, and worst of all look moronic. If you can't at least afford a bolt action .50 you can't really afford to shoot .50 anyway
It's a viable home defense weapon. Burglar, meet you ride to hell.
>Dissuade me, if you can.
how could you buying this possibly negatively impact me?
Unless you're hunting engine blocks or a t-rex I'm not entirely sure what you'll use it for. Have fun I guess
T Rex, I just wondered if anybody had comments on the barrel length, action, manufacturer, etc
>16.5"
the barrel for 50 cal needs to be wayyyy longer than that, even the M107CQ variant is 20" with the standard being 29"
Post pictures of you getting it and a webm of you firing it and go forth to glory you mad bastard.
It's a much longer barrel then a 50bmg handgun so I'm sure it'll be fine. That super thick stock will also provide great support.

You are poor and won't buy it anyways.
You too thanks
Do you have a place to shoot it? I've had a .50 for 15+ years abd have never fired it.

>TFW when 50bmg SHTF-50 owner

also with a barrel that short it serves basically no purpose.

Jokes aside imagine conceal carrying this thing lol
Where tf is the recoil spring?
Prob fire it once, then lose your nerve.
why would it have a recoil spring?
No.
You'll get a ton of unburnt powder from every shot. Even 20-24" 50 BMG spits unburnt powder pretty bad. I can't imagine at 16.5".
I wonder what powders would work for short barrel 50bmg. you obviously won't get 36" barrel velocities, but maybe just target 2kfps? Varget or H1000?
