Just take the chain off, wash it good, then buy a quick link and connect it.
Your friend is a moron. The most you'd have to pay is $10-$20 for a new chain, least is $5-8 for a new quick link.
I will repair the chain myself. Kinda worried ill break the gear shifter or something because it looks complex. Any tips on how to avoid breaking them? I will post a pic as soon i get home.
I mean that thing. Isn't it under tension so if i remove the chain will it do something stupid or will it just stay as it is.

you can tie the derailleur in place with zip ties or something if you're really autistic about its position

The arm will just straighten until it stops it's not going to ping off if that's what you think, when you put the chain on it will bend back to that position.
The chain just failed, it happens. They're under a lot of stress and production isn't perfect. Too much lubrication can make more shit stick to it, that's ture, bit it won't make it fail like that.
After you lube up your chain, just wipe down excess lubricant with a rag. You don't want your chain exterior to be completely dry either, because rust and all that.
A new chain is like $15, unless you're in need of high performance parts, which doesn't seem to be the case. I recommend KMC instead of Shimano.
You can also replace the link with a quick link, but you need a chain tool for that (which is a good investment and cheap as well).
it should be on /n/ moron. That link can be fixed in 10 seconds using a chain tool what an absolute gay you are delete this thread attention prostitute. Also clean your drive train it's disgusting
I mean, what did you do? Can't you just fix it?
Used too much lube. Shit got stuck in the chain and it exploded. My bike friend says i have to get it replaced for 200€
Now i feel stupid.
>My bike friend says i have to get it replaced for 200€
Uhhh I think you can use a $5 chain tool to remove the pins and join the chain where it broke
But isin't now the dirt stuck deep in the chain so it will break again soon anyway if i fix it?
That puts too much tension on the shifters.
yeah he should replace those, but it's good enough to go home
just wash the chain and lube it again? idk I never had this problem

Your friend might be moronic, where does a speed link to fix that cost 200€?
He says i need the chain replaced because i used too much lube and its now ruined forver
I'm pretty sure you can just wash it with a toothbrush, dish soap, water and elbow grease. then you lube it again
Ok where do I get elbow grease
>where do I get elbow grease
Go to your local automotive shop.
You should find it between the troony lube and the gender fluid.
Get a new chain or link, and a new friend
Hra either a moron or fricking you over. That's a below 10 dollar fix and easy as frick https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=eJ6HesHiGZM

Curious as to why you think you'll break your gear shifter just replacing a chain or chain link, yes send pics of what you're worried about.

Probably just need to replace a link or two in the chain. No big deal.
cut the chain and put a new one on. simple as.

Quick link or new chain. Shimano also sells replacement pins, but IMO quicklinks are more useful.
Nice bait bro. I cant believe how many fell for it.
